Character Creation

"You will have heard, my lord, of a region to the east of the Tilean city-states ... sometimes known as the land of the Border Princes. This land is reckoned by its own people to be civilised enough, and it is not unlike Estalia or Tilea in that the men of every little princedom think themselves better than their neighbours, and are ever-ready to consider that they have been deprived of some portion of that share of wealth and privilege which would be theirs if justice prevailed throughout the world. Men of Estalia or the Empire will confidently assure you that there are no cities in the region, and that even the grandest of the so-called princes are merely upstart brigands. Those whose notion of a city is formed by knowledge of Magritta or Altdorf are justified in saying that no such place exists in the Border Princes, but there are walled towns in the region much greater in size than Arjijil, which the people -- who know no better -- think of as great cities. Such places are sometimes little more than huge fortresses, to which the entire population of a region might retire in time of invasion. Each one has its own prince, and each one has its own tiny empire -- for even such small cities as these must rely on the produce of a legion of farmers."

You have finally reached your destination: The Border Princes; here you will find your future, be it salvation or eternal damnation.

So, in this Quest you will impersonate a ruler in the Border Princes, at the moment you control a village and the surrounding lands, but in time this may change; it's up to you to shape the future of this land.

In this Quest you will have a number of action for turn, those actions can be spent in any category you wish, while actions granted by advisors can be spent only in their field of experience. There three type of resources in the quest: manpower, army and wealth. Manpower indicate how many available men there are in your fief, they are used in order to complete project and to be recruited in your army; the army is the indication of how many soldiers you command, each unit has his own stats, bonus, malus and special rules. Finally there is wealth; wealth itself is divided in two category: (+) and ($). (+) indicate wealth that cannot be stored for long, like food and perishable items, and small coinage, this means that it must be spent in the turn is produced and cannot be stored unless specified otherwise; ($) it's the real wealth, like gold and other precious items, it can be stored indefinitely and can be used for great purchase or very expensive actions; be careful because both form of wealth can be stolen.

There are four others things to be considered in this quest: the first is happiness, the higher it is the happier and cooperative are your subjects; taxes, they grant you more (+) the higher they are the lower is the happiness, it's indicated by a meter of -10/10; immigration grants you manpower each turn, a D10 is rolled for every point of happiness and the results are the number of immigrant you receive, be cautious because immigration can get in the negative. Finally there is your Right to Rule, this indicate how influential you are and serve as indicator of how much you are important as a ruler
After a year has passed, so at the beginning of Turn 5, there will be a D100 rolled every Turn; this indicate an event happening the result may be clear immediately or discovered after many turn
