The Great Shinobi Empires of Jihopan (Naruto Quest, AU Canon)

Prologue: Chapter 12
Sasori's harsh critique of your sculpture was deeply cut in your mind, it really bothered you how detailed he got. Not one to let your pride take such a blow, you decided to beat Sasori at his own game. So you went over all the details in your head and decided to work on the biggest issue Sasori had, how sand wasn't a sturdy enough substance for his vision of art.

"I could pour water on the sand, that'll make it stick. Of course then it'll dry out and the sand will crumble and I don't have any way to keep it damp. Argh, forgot that if I put too much water it'll just destroy the sculpture! I could start with wet sand, but that just loops back to it drying out. Okay, forget the water. Maybe clay and stone with the sand? It's how buildings are built back in the village. But wait...wouldn't that just be covering a previously made sculpture with sand? If I made the sculpture beforehand it would still be a creation of my own, but it would just be sand covering something. I suppose it works, but I want my sand to show Sasori it can hang with whatever he makes for puppets. So...urgh...!"

Such thoughts swirled in your mind the entire time as you flew to the border of the Rain-Sound and Leaf Empires. It was only smart they'd travel through the Leaf Empire, then through the Rain to reach the Earth Empire, as you knew the Leaf Empire was much too busy focusing on the infamous civil war to protect the borders of their lands. Of course nobody dared to actually attack the Leaf due to the sheer amount of power they have compared to the other Empires...

The desert slowly turned into a rainy wasteland, then the wasteland turned into large forests the Leaf Empire was known for as you, Sasori, and Sozen crossed over the border. Now that you were near the reported area where the Frost Delegate, you landed everyone safely on the ground. Flying would be a good way to get spotted right now.

"Alright, now we just gotta find the delegate," Sozen said after doing some stretches.

"They should be coming through this area soon, its a notable route for traveling merchants," you said, looking around the area. It was a large dirt path with thick trees to either side of the road. "Most likely they will disguise themselves

"Then we shall hide within the trees and I shall attack with my puppets. Unless the protection they brought are highly skilled, they shall die without resistance," Sasori confidently stated.

You crossed your arms and began to think. Sasori's plan was pretty much risk free, but could mere puppets actually do this job?

Well, what do you think?

[] Go with Sasori's plan.

[] Tell Sasori you're going to help, even if he disagrees.

[] Ask Sozen if he can assist Sasori.

[] All three of you will assist in this sneak attack.

[] Write In.

[x] Sasori's puppets make for a great opening move, and if they wipe the foe in the initial exchange, great, good work Sasori. But experience tells me that it's better to be paranoid and over prepare than to get complacent. Whichever one of Sozen or I knows the most/best sensor/vision techniques should keep an eye out for tricks or reinforcements and the other should make ready to follow up on Sasori's initial attack.

Prologue: Chapter 13
"Alright, Sasori we will go ahead with your plan. But experience has taught me to be prepared. Sozen and I will watch out for any tricks or reinforcements," you said.

"Gotcha," Sozen said as his eyes suddenly turned red and gained three more pupils in the shape of a comma that surrounded the middle. "With my Sharingan I can check for any genjutsu or extra chakra signatures."

"The Sharingan...? Hm..." Sasori grunted thoughtfully. But after a moment he quickly retreated into the woods, presumably to set up his ambush.

"Alright, that sounds good Sozen, I'll spread some sand around for a sneak attack if I need it," you said, beginning to convert some of the dusty trail into sand, though you made sure to hide it by mixing dirt and gravel with it. After that, both you and Sozen moved into the woods opposite Sasori and began to wait. Five minutes passed...ten minutes...thirty minutes...an hour...a few hours. You kept still and silent throughout the wait, same as Sozen. Even the slightest movement could reveal your position.

Then you heard the sounds of footsteps, horse hoofs clopping on the ground, and the groan and rattling of a carriage! In the distance you could see two shinobi in Rock Empire uniforms walking side by side a horse drawn carriage. There was a tall man with long and spiky hair holding the reigns on the horses, but overall it looked like they were trying to pass off as mere merchants who had hired some Rock shinobi. As soon as they got close, multiple puppets flew out from the trees. The Rock shinobi were shocked and tried to defend themselves, but a rain of kunai quickly brought them down. However, the coachman quickly dodged the sudden attack. The puppets turned towards him and began a vicious assault, but the coachman dodged them all before making hand seals. With a roar, he unleashed a large burst of chakra that suddenly made the puppets go limp. He was extremely quick to destroy the puppets before Sasori could reconnect to them.

"What the hell?" you said, shocked at the display. Then the carriage door opened a man stepped out. He was very tall and wore round glasses that shone from the sun, making you unable to see his eyes. He had black hair that was tied neatly in a proper topknot and he wore a men's kimono that was icy blue in color.

"Suguru, how many?" the man asked, his voice cold and monotone. Not a single expression of emotion was on this man's face.

"Three of them, father," the coachman said.

"What? How does he know?!" you whispered to Sozen. He shrugged his shoulders and continued watching.

"Any unique chakras?" the emotionless man asked.

"One is normal, with an earth affinity. Another is deeply entrenched with demonic energy, signaling a possible Jinchuriki, along with that, they have a wind affinity. Finally, another has a powerful chakra stemming from their eyes, quite possibly a Doujutsu. They have an affinity for fire," the man you now know as Suguru answered.

"That...is an extremely powerful form of sensing," Sozen muttered. "Not just to single us out so easily, but to tell what our elemental affinities are? We must be careful..."

"A Doujutsu and a possible Jinchuriki? Hmph, better than I expected," the emotionless man said. "You three may come out now, I wish to negotiate. If not, then my son and I have no issue of resorting to violence."

"This seems like a trap. But...if he is the Frost delegate, perhaps we can change this mind to support the Sand Empire instead? But...hm." you thought.

What will you do?

[] Your mission was to assassinate the delegate! Attack him!

[] Go out and negotiate with the man with Sozen and Sasori. This might actually be better than merely killing him and risking lives.

[] Go out and negotiate by yourself, leaving Sasori and Sozen waiting in case things get violent. Better to be safe than sorry...

[] Tell Sozen to try to genjutsu the two men so you can capture them and negotiate under your own terms!

i doubt this is a fight we can win anything that comes off as offensive should be avoided plus he knows where we are already no sense in hiding

Sasori can send a puppet over to speak through. I doubt after witnessing a single AoE immobilize his puppets, he'd want all three of us to clump together.

Prologue: Chapter 14
"Sozen, come with me. I'm going to talk to them," you said.

"It's for the best, we shouldn't risk a fight," Sozen nodded. Both you and Sozen emerged from the trees and you gave a signal for Sasori to come out, but he didn't budge and inch, instead sending out a robed puppet. You stood in front of the two men, a cautious distance apart. You were ready to use the sand you had spread at any second!

"Greetings. I am Shigetaka Otokorashii, one of the leaders of the Frost Empire," the emotionless man said, introducing himself. "Going by the other Empires, I suppose that makes me a Shimokage."

"A kage? Nearly by himself with such weak protection?" you said out loud, genuinely confused.

"Indeed. I did ask the Rock Empire for better guards, but they saw fit to give me their dregs," Shigetaka coldly replied, looking at the corpses of the Rock shinobi Sasori had killed. "Not one of them even worth harvesting."

"What do you want?" you asked, ignoring the harvesting comment. Then you pointed at the man next to Shigetaka and asked, "and who is he?"

"Oh, it is my son, Suguru Otokorashii. A well crafted tool of my own invention. Do not pay it anymore mind than you would a kunai in its holster," Shigetaka replied monotonously, "also it is rude for you three not to introduce yourselves after I generously did so."

"Nou, Sozen, and Sasori," you bluntly answered, pointing to the individual as you named them off. "Now what do you want to negotiate?"

"Simple. I was going to the Rock Empire to discuss a possible alliance. But they insulted me," Shigetaka said, crossing his arms. "In the Frost Empire, strength is everything. I merely asked for a show of strength, they responded with those corpses on the ground."

"Get to the point," Sasori demanded through the puppet.

"Very well. I want to see the strength of what the Sand has sent me, what they felt was strong enough to kill these Rock shinobi. It will be a mere one on one fight of your choosing. One of you will fight one of us. If you win, we shall go to the Sand Empire to talk to your Kazekage. If we win, we claim the spoils of war and you shall become Frost shinobi."

"What?! Why would we ever do that? I have a wife and kids back at home!" Sozen snapped, worry spreading over his face.

"Irrelevant," Shigetaka bluntly replied, glaring at Sozen. "These are the terms I have set."

"What if we choose not to fight?" Sasori asked.

"Then you forfeit by understanding that you are weak and should be controlled by the strong," Shigetaka said, his voice as emotionless as ever.

"You don't think you and Suguru could defeat all three of us if we teamed up against you, do you?" you smugly said.

"I do, do not let arrogance blind you of the truth. Strength is all that matters, strength is the truth," Shigetaka said, his eyes narrowing. "This is up to you, Sand shinobi. Tell me your answer."

Shigetaka and Suguru both took a step back to let you three discuss what you wanted to do. Sozen was the first to speak up, "I can't risk leaving my family. We should run, I can hit them with a quick genjutsu to give us time."

"I am interested in this...strength Shigetaka talks about. His son managed to disrupt control of my puppets...I must find out how to overcome such a technique..." Sasori muttered.

"Are you crazy? They're going to enslave us if we lose!" Sozen growled.

"I suppose it would be quite annoying to be taken away from my preferred place of research, but-" Sasori began, but you cut him off.

"No matter what, we're going to have to fight. I'm sorry Sozen. Running could make the Frost continue their original idea of allying with the Rock and that could spell the end of the Sand Empire," you seriously said.

"But..." Sozen moaned, gritting his teeth and looking away. "F-Fine. If you think we should fight, then I will."

"Good. Now...who to choose...?" you muttered.

[X] You will fight...
-[X] Shigetaka

If things go south, this could hopefully put us in a better position to take him out outright

[x] Sozen will fight...
-[x] Suguru

If that guy is really considered a tool, he likely doesn't have esoteric abilities, so he's a pretty straightforward, if an incredibly skilled, fighter. Sharingan is the best tool to fight him, then.

And, well, he has reasons to not loose.

[X] You will fight...
-[X] Shigetaka

Sozen is having a near emotional meltdown, sending him in is a huge risk. More importantly, Suguru counters Sasori and Nou hard. How does he counter Nou? Sensing. How does that matter? Because it's how we'll beat Shigetaka.

Nou can fight effectively both high in the air and deep underground - almost no chakra cost sand platforms for air, can merge with earth and control sand without handseals for underground. Both tactics can use her sand sensing to feel everything on the surface. Both making dodging far easier (for us and us alone - Shigetaka has to telegraph his attacks and have them fly through the air, while we simply will the sand already near Shigetaka into moving). With our 10+ stamina, we can harass all day - through all night if necessary.

[X] You will fight...

changed to this, Giga makes a good point though i do think Souzen would do well Vs Suguru

Prologue: Chapter 15
"I'll fight Shigetaka. No offense Sozen, but you don't seem stable, and Sasori I-"

"I do not care, if you are not fighting Suguru then I have no interest," Sasori gruffly replied.

"T-Thank you, Nou..." Sozen lowly said, shame clearly showing on face. He quickly looked away from you but you had more important things to do. You turned around and looked directly at Shigetaka. You gave him a confident smirk and said, "Shigetaka, you will fight one of the Desert Three, Nou Saito. Kage or not, you will know the might of the Sand Empire!"

"Very well. Suguru, watch this battle closely and do not interfere unless her partners jump in," Shigetaka commanded, flicking his eyes towards his son. Suguru nodded and backed away to give you and Shigetaka the space to do battle. Sozen did the same and Sasori's puppet vanished back into the trees. You cracked your neck and got into a fighting stance as Shigetaka removed the sash holding his kimono shut, then in one swift motion, pulling the rest of his kimono away.

You were very shocked at what you saw! You could easily tell Shigetaka was tall and lanky, but underneath the kimono was a torso packed with muscle. His arms and shoulders were similarly muscled, his skin looking stretched tight, each muscle looking like they were made of steel underneath his skin. He wore white pants that belongs to a martial arts gi and no shoes as well. Finally, he took of his glassed and threw them at Suguru, who easily caught them and put them away.

"Impressive, but you will lose!" you declared. Before you could say another word, Shigetaka shot forward and attempted to punch you! You smirked once more as your natural defense activated, a thick wall of sand blocking his punch. You counted by having hardened spikes of sand emerge from the defense and you could feel them making contact!

To your surprise however, another thud hit against the sand. You removed the sand in the way of your vision and saw Shigetaka calmly standing in front of you, his fist trying its best to penetrate your sand. However, the sand spikes you had made had their tips broken off! You pushed your hand forward to engulf Shigetaka in a wave of sand, but he jumped backwards to avoid the worst of it.

"Powerful defensive abilities," Shigetaka muttered out loud, still monotone.

"You see how hopeless it is to fight me then?" you arrogantly jeered.

"Just the opposite," Shigetaka said. "If that defense is all you have, you shall surely become a shinobi of the Frost."

"Like hell I will!" you shouted.

"Then prove it," Shigetaka retorted, taking a deep breath in and getting into a fighting position.

You already had enough of this emotionless loser! Now its time for you to attack!

[X] Lame it out. Take to the air, focus on conserving chakra when possible and forcing Shigetaka to keep responding to our threat of sand. Scatter sand for sensing. Drift slowly to try to prevent him from ragequitting with a prepped trap for Sozen and Sasori. Even a little sand is threatening when it comes to the eyes, ears, mouth, nose...

Taijutsu's a big no. I could potentially see wind working, but I'm hesitant to see.

Wow my initial plan seems wildly OoC, but whatever.
