#StickiedForAReason
Votes that do not follow the template will not be counted!

At this time I am using a counter system, listing the number of days votes take to be put into action. However for write-in votes you don't know how many days an action may take. For this we will use the old system of Major/Minor Decisions, and I will tell you how many days/weeks/months the plan will take. Remember that every month has 28 days, and that there are 13 months in the year with New Years as a special day alone outside the months. There is no leap year, as their calendar is not accurate to that degree.

Major decisions are any new endeavors. Finding new investments. Finding new allies (specify what type, where you're looking if possible, what you want from them, etc) finding new trainers, starting new training even if it is with people you already know... Anything new.

No mixing something that would qualify as a minor decision or free action into your major votes! If you have a question about your votes, ask me.

Talking with specific people about specific subjects. You can generally only talk with one person at a time with this. There are simple logical exceptions, Husband & Wife combos can be put together as one conversation, brother & sister, stuff like that. I'll clarify if a combo is unacceptable when I see the vote. This is also for continuing any long term action. Any major decision that you have already voted to start (not just mused about in-story) can be a minor action the next time around. Continuing training that you have already begun for example. Continuing a long-term investigation or plot. Stuff like this.

Making small talk with characters. You will not learn anything special really, but it gives you more insight into their backgrounds and history, can raise/lower their loyalty or other relationship points with you, etc. Raising/lowering and how much depends on rolls.

These can interrupt any current action(s) and will take precedence over the current plan. A way to change things on the fly as you discover new information or alternate ways to potentially enhance your plan, or change it completely if needed.

Remember for all votes if you take a guard or other individual with you, you will need to write-in which guard/person you take with you (just saying take a guard or ally will leave the decision of which one up to me) and also whether Daenerys tries to use any future knowledge on the decision as well if it is one of hers or she is present. (She still may decide to try and use her future knowledge without your consent if she thinks it necessary.) These details are sub-votes.

[] [Plan] X (Current Month, Short Term, Long Term, Immediate Actions, Purchases, etc.)
-[] Major Decisions: Character name here
--[] Major Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 1
--[] Major Decision 2
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 2
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 2
-[] Minor Decisions: Character name here
--[] Minor Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Minor Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Minor Decision 1
--[] Minor Decision 2
-[] Free Actions: Character name here
--[] Free Action 1
---[] Sub-conditions
--[] Free Action 2
---[] Sub-conditions

You get the jist of this.

However, under the plan vote, you will then put a "Priority" Vote.

[] Aegon Priority: 1. Major Decision 1, 2. Free Action 2, 3. Minor Decision 1, 4. Major Decision 2, etc.
[] Daenerys Priority: 1. Free Action 2, 2. Major Decision 3, 3. Minor Decision 1, etc.

This way we can vote on the general plan, then I can separate the order of events in said plan.

Don't put V1, V2, or any other such revision information into your plan. Just leave it like I have it. Nothing extra. The tally system will update to your newest post. No need to make version markers. It just makes things harder for me.

If an action in a plan is not one for a specific character, more a general idea of what needs to be done, it will still need to go into the priority matrix.

At the end of all your votes, put your reasons explaining your vote choice. As I've said before, a plan with reasons will get more weight than one without. Because reasons matter. I care about reasons more than numbers. I need reasons to help build the characters. Get used to putting reasons into your plans, as eventually reasons will become a requirement rather than a suggestion. This post will change when that occurs.

[] [Plan] X

You may (but are not required to) put additional reasons to agree with that plan beneath your vote if there are reasons for it that the original vote creator didn't put in that you thought of. The more/better the reasoning inside explaining a vote, the greater the chance it will be added into the story.

Votes are typically closed after either 12 or 24 hours unless real life interferes. Ties will be either decided by me, or by whoever is in the forum or the Discord that has not voted already at the time. I will @ whoever is currently in the forum or Discord that I choose to be the tiebreaker.

Plans have specific timelines. Immediate Actions are obviously immediate. Current Month is similarly self-explanatory. Short Term is something that can conceivably be done within 1-3 months, and Long Term is 3-6 months.

Alright I will switch my vote

[X] Aegon Targaryen - Being one of the Dragonlords was why you came here. They will be more likely to follow you if they know you are of the line blessed by the gods they worship.

I have a question though... Do we have three Aegons? Because if we do, that "war of the five aegons" snippet over at AH may be a possibility here...

There's no point in stating that we are Aegon Targaryen, we will only put a target on out backs for really no profit. Better just introduce ourselves as a Velaryon and when we come back from the valyrian cave we will get the same prestige as if we presented ourselves as a Targaryan from the start without putting ourselves and Dany in danger.

Valyrians grow on trees, not exactly something that will inspire an instant pedigree. I mean look at Lys which is a literal country of Valyrians or Volantis who have an entire Old City full of them. In contrast, there's only one family that has retained it's Dragonrider credentials.

Yes they are many, but I am talking about venturing to the valyrian cave. The one where the bloodshed ocurred. Everyone that enter doesn't come back, and when we do l, we will get that pedigree. Without exposing ourselves.

And declaring that we're basically the one guy Robby wants to them is a better idea HOW?

The king's mouth twisted in a bitter grimace. "Some pox-ridden Pentoshi cheesemonger had her brother and her walled up on his estate with pointy-hatted eunuchs all around them, and now he's handed them over to the Dothraki. I should have had them both killed years ago, when it was easy to get at them, but Jon was as bad as you. More fool I, I listened to him."

I feel like everyone keeps forgetting this. King Robert loved and respected Jon Arryn. Assuming we're not dicks who try to take over a Throne that our family lost by being ass***les or we make ourselves a threat, it's unlikely we're going to stir him into action. Even in the Books, it's only after Danaerys married the horde of 100,000 horsemen that he acted. If he didn't kill us when we were in Pentos supported by a Merchant Prince do you honestly think he's going to care that we've made a life for ourselves as merchants in Braavos? It's not like Robert Baratheon has been spending his life staring gleefully over this chance. As was noted in the books, 'Robert thought of himself as a hero and heroes do not kill children.'

Are any of us planning to tell these people, "BLAH BLAH BLAH WE ARE THE DRAGON AND THE IRON THRONE IS OURS BY RIGHT!" Seriously, the Iron Throne isn't going to care that Aegon wants to create an Empire across the sea in Essos and honestly I don't want the Iron Throne. It's a bloody stupid chair and our family is utterly justified in losing it given the extreme loss of virtue shown by our Mad Father and Homewrecker Brother.

1. Lunasmeow is rolling for everything. So, if Robert ever finds out about us, he might roll to have us assassinated, or even send troops.
2. He let Dany and Viserys live because they were Rhaegar's siblings. If he finds out Rhaegar's son exists, he might have different ideas.
3. Robert is not the only enemy we have, Illyrio is far closer. He still doesn't know where we are and I'd like to keep it that way.
4. There is really no reason to vote for Targaryen except vanity. We don't need to gain their respect. We just need to get them to teach us about their gods.
5. They don't care about dynasty. Velaryons married into the Targaryens a lot and so we could be Targaryen descendants. Proven by being the only one to come out of the temple alive. This proves that were blessed by the gods, which is what they care most about.

So, all the cons in one vote, all the pros except pride in another. Please don't vote for pride over pragmatism.

Not only are you meta-gaming, (something I've already said is against the rules) you're reading much into the quote that you want to see while ignoring what you don't want to see... consider the parts I am putting in bold.

Walled up in his estate. Not easy to assassinate people while they are guarded.

He listened to Jon Arryn. I am rolling for everything. I have said it before, and will say it again this one time only. You don't know what is happening in the world.

For all you know Jon Arryn is already dead, no longer staying Robert's hand against you. You all know absolutely nothing about Westeros. It was the same at the start of the campaign, but that was months ago already.

So, for the last time: Don't meta-game. Don't use your canon knowledge, because it won't help you one single bit. And if I see it used for votes, as said before, I will punish it. Votes are made with IC knowledge. OOC desires, but IC knowledge. Not your own knowledge. Last time I'm going to say it.

A Divine Order For This Mortal Coil - Part Two
Winning Vote
Aegon Velaryon

This was originally a tie, but as I said earlier - breaking the rules can result in two things depending entirely upon my whim. Either the character gets a forced 1 rolled on something happening, or the player who broke a rule loses their vote for the chapter. Rules are updated on the threadmark.
A Divine Order For This Mortal Coil - Part Two
Third Week of the Fifth Month 297 AC

Of the three more wealthy members, one appears to be the leader of this group. He introduces himself as Thomas Mecumber, a name you recognize as one of the more prominent merchant houses in Braavos. "I am Aegon Velaryon, of House Velaryon," you say, explaining that you are the son of an exiled knight, one who fought alongside his Targaryen relatives against the Usurper's armies. "Though I do not carry the Dragonlord name, their blood yet flows through my veins, and I would seek the favor of the gods of my ancestors." Hearing your tale the man before you smiles widely and throws his arm aside, gesturing for you to come within.

You enter the building serving as a temple to your gods. Looking around you notice that there are small dragons adorning many things inside, and that for such a small building it is surprisingly well furnished and cared for. Considering how wealthy three of them appear to be however, that is explainable.

As you look around others come in with questions. Do you have the Dragon Dreams? Do the gods whisper in your ears of future truths and past mysteries? Can you touch flame and go unburned?

At first Thomas of Mecumber's visage appears shadowy and uneasy when surprised with your instant popularity, but when you confirm that while you have had strange dreams you never remember enough of them to determine any truths from them, and that, so far at least, fire burns you as it does any man, well; his countenance becomes more jovial and welcoming. Moreso even when he hears that you are a new merchant in the city, looking for investment opportunities.

"Well!" he says, shaking your hand vigorously. "I certainly am glad to hear that! We here all invest in each other, well, those of us with means of course, and the three of us have done quite well for ourselves I can tell you. If you're interested, aligning our fortunes before the gods is always a good way to see us prosper."

"While I mean no disrespect, good sir," you start; "I came seeking the gods, not business partners. Though should they lead me to do so, I would of course follow their guidance. That however, must come after hearing their will." You bow slightly in the direction of an altar in the room, signifying that you will obey your gods first, your accounts second.

"Of course, of course, my good lad.' Thomas says. "The god's will must always come first, even before coin. Still, if you are truly of the blood of the Dragonlords as you say, perhaps the god's will can be made clearer to us all..." He wraps his arm around your shoulder and begins to explain about the situation here in Braavos.

You head back into the city sighing to yourself. Things here are worse than you thought. Not only are Valyrians and any worshiping their gods charged an extra 10% tax on everything, but the worshipers know less about the gods than you do! Well, yes they knew some things different than what you knew, but they knew less overall. What's more, every time you tried to teach them something you did know, Thomas would find some way to discredit it, without seeming to actually have done so.

You are starting to suspect that it is no surprise that he ended up in charge of the small congregation. A wealthy man, skill at the art of manipulating people and their words... Yes, they may worship the gods, but they follow him. It became obvious that the man intends to use you, and your Velaryon blood to get past the protections in the last true temple and get at the hidden secrets within to strengthen his own position. The man is an ambitious spider, ever climbing higher on the backs of others. You have no doubt that once you have served your use to him that he will suffer you only as another follower, and that if you make waves he will not hesitate to get rid of you.

You are glad that you did not give your true name to these people, for the man would no doubt sell your location to your enemies the moment he had what he wanted from you. If you want to do anything with these followers of Old Valyria, you will need to find a way to oust Thomas from his position of authority first. Then once you have turned the people into your followers you can get rid of him and perhaps then you can reveal yourself to your new subjects.

You cross another road heading deeper into the poorer district. Seeing how the buildings are beginning to look less kept, and the clothes on the passers by are starting to look visibly less comfortable and wealthy than your own, you probably should have brought a guard or two on this trip.

As you turn the corner nearest to the meeting place for the shopkeepers that you have arranged to meet tonight, three armed thugs bump into you. As you stumble backwards for a moment, one yells, "Watch it!" before another pauses and says, "Wait, that's him!" and draws a dagger from within his sleeve. You see the glint of silver and note a ring on one of their fingers. A stylized scorpion is upon it.

What do you do?

[] Turn and run.

[] Face them. You brought your short sword.

[] Face them. You brought your short sword, and a longsword that you bought during your stay here for your practice sessions. - 15 SD

[] Face them. You are barehanded, but that doesn't phase you.

[] Yell for help. There may be guards around.

[] Try to bribe them. Someone is looking for you, and you want to know who.

[] Write-in

Well, you finally got an encounter! Too bad you're alone and it is three on one...

As for Thomas, he was supposed to be a hidden snake in the worshipers who got you to open up to him then tried to stab you in the back, but his diplomacy rolls were atrocious, and yours were high, so you figured out his angle. You know he wants to use you to get to what is hidden in the cavern temple and then get rid of you unless you are another person he can control for his own use.

Sometimes discretion is the better part of valor, because if he'd started asking around for dirt on Aegon Targaryen, he'd have either gotten in touch with Illyrio eventually, or Robert Baratheon (more likely) and Robert would have learned that there is an Aegon out there to worry about and not just a Viserys and Daenerys.

Boldness is useful, but not all the time. I do lay traps for you all sometimes. A quest isn't fun if there's no danger.

Also, in the discord people mentioned wanting to create the followers as characters. I think I'm going to allow it. Someone already claimed the prostitute, (the 69 roll) and Thomas is mine (the 89 roll) so the others are up for grabs. Anyone who wants to make an npc in the quest feel free to ask!

I'LL DO ONE!

[] Face them, but only attack them if they attack first. If you can take them alive, do it (prioritize whoever seems to be the leader). You brought your short sword, and a longsword that you bought during your stay here for your practice sessions. - 15 SD

It only makes sense that he's got basic equipment.

The guy pulled a knife. The sensible thing is to prepare for battle. That being said our style supposedly favors deflection and countering. We can try to talk our way out, but be ready for combat.

Is there still unclaimed character creation slots. I'll take a shot at one if there is.
