Hm? What were the fascist implications? I know Ghost Recon Wildlands' premise is basically an American nativist's wet dream, but what of Division?I wonder if it'll repudiate the sorta fascist implications of the first one?*
*Lol nah, of course not. It's a Ubisoft game and they love money from anyone.![]()

Edit: wait no nevermind, I watched that Extra Credits video. Geez.
I dunno why people bitch about this, honestly. It's a bit cringe-inducing but it's better than *actual* player chatter.

"Backblast clear!" "das you cock you're supposed to check not just shout and shoot!"
"guys I'm lost again" "whiskey kill yourself pls ktx"
"gais civilise, look i has flashlight!" "Kuso I will kill you for your insolence"
"aloha snackbar aloha snackbar! Come brothers let us find our 72 goat virgins!" (spoken by the sole Muslim on the team)
"Contacted rear!" *dakkadakkadakkadakkadakkadakka* "Whiskey stahp, whiskey why, you just killed our team!" "Kuso if they didn't want to die they shouldn't have spawned in front of me!"
"Gais new plan kill Whiskey before he teamkills us all, again, pls."
Of course it's scripted, it's a demo video for E3! Actual in-game chatter would be nothing but expletives and insults from opposing players.I dunno why people bitch about this, honestly. It's a bit cringe-inducing but it's better than *actual* player chatter.![]()
It's a Tom Clancy game.
Scripted player chatter, enemies still need about two to three pounds of lead each to take down,
Article: Epic Games scored a big one today with the announcement of a partnership with Ubisoft that will see at least some of its future PC releases come to the Epic Games Store, and not to Steam. As reported by Polygon, the semi-exclusive deal will begin in March with the launch of The Division 2.
"We have no plans currently on releasing Tom Clancy's The Division 2 on Steam," a Ubisoft rep said. Ubisoft and Epic will "also partner on additional select titles [coming to the Epic Games Store] to be announced during the coming year."
"We entrust Epic to deliver a smooth journey for our fans, from preordering the game and enjoying our Beta to the launch of Tom Clancy's The Division 2 on March 15," Ubisoft vice president of partnerships Chris Early said in the announcement. "Epic continues to disrupt the videogame [sic] industry, and their third party digital distribution model is the latest example, and something Ubisoft wants to support."
It's still avaialble on Uplay and is available on GreenMan Gaming.....yeah this is a red flag for me, particularly because Steam means localised pricing.
Ok, I guess I can wait till later in the year to get this. I'll just get Ace Combat 7 first.
Rumor has it they did that because Epic takes a smaller cut than Valve does. Essentially this is to try and force Valve to be more competitive. So the PC version, if anyone is interested, will only be releasing on the Epic Storefront, not on Steam.

my problem with uplay and green man is that their pricing is in USD, and won't be localised for the region. It's still avaialble on Uplay and is available on GreenMan Gaming.

Wildlands was basically "foreigners should be fucking grateful when we invade their shitty countries"
Division was "God I wish we could invade ourselves"
Honestly both Wildlands and Division feel like there were two groups of writers.
The first group was taking the piss out of American right-wing memes via satire and the second one was unironically 100% down with them.
Like, the overarching plot of Wildlands after you take the DLC into consideration is basically: "A DEA agent decides to kill a ton of Americans and frame a dictator for it solely to get him removed from power, you do so by basically annihilating the government and social services structure of the country, and as a result of that you basically ruin the country so badly that a while later you need to go back because Big Boss took over and started making Outer Heaven there." You don't write this as your core plot if you're down on American death squads shooting Central American populists being a good thing.
But then you dig deeper and there's a whole lot of dumb edgy ameriwank nonsense there.
Very much so. The Sam Fisher mission only cements it.What got me about Wildlands were the dialogue options whenever you commandeered a vehicle from someone. It's been a while so I don't remember the exact lines but there was always a distinct tone of "be glad we're only taking your car" or "this is for your own good".
The whole game just drips with imperialism jerksweat.
