Not much is known but we will be getting more info at E3

I have played the first Divsion and I still have it but the enemies are a little hard for me. I look foward to see what happens in the next game since it ends on a cliffhanger.

I wonder if it'll repudiate the sorta fascist implications of the first one?*

*Lol nah, of course not. It's a Ubisoft game and they love money from anyone. :V

Hm? What were the fascist implications? I know Ghost Recon Wildlands' premise is basically an American nativist's wet dream, but what of Division?

Edit: wait no nevermind, I watched that Extra Credits video. Geez.

Wildlands was basically "foreigners should be fucking grateful when we invade their shitty countries"

Division was "God I wish we could invade ourselves"

Oh, good.

Scripted player chatter, enemies still need about two to three pounds of lead each to take down, and I assume we're still the "good" fascist murderhobos.

Holy shit this game looks dire.

Scripted player chatter,

I dunno why people bitch about this, honestly. It's a bit cringe-inducing but it's better than *actual* player chatter. :V

Samples of actual player chatter from when SEA Team Six played InsurgenSEA last night:

"Backblast clear!" "das you cock you're supposed to check not just shout and shoot!"

"guys I'm lost again" "whiskey kill yourself pls ktx"

"gais civilise, look i has flashlight!" "Kuso I will kill you for your insolence"

"aloha snackbar aloha snackbar! Come brothers let us find our 72 goat virgins!" (spoken by the sole Muslim on the team :V)

"Contacted rear!" *dakkadakkadakkadakkadakkadakka* "Whiskey stahp, whiskey why, you just killed our team!" "Kuso if they didn't want to die they shouldn't have spawned in front of me!"

"Gais new plan kill Whiskey before he teamkills us all, again, pls."

Anyhow, Division in the summer means that next year when I cosplay, i will no longer be at risk from dying from heatstroke in the Malaysian summer. :p

Im looking forward to it. A tagline seems to imply there maybe some NG+ I hope for those who had TD1.

Since it implies that the Division Agents have been activated for 6-7months. Ie. Since New York.

I liked TD1. Massive/ubisoft hit the stride with 1.4. So here's to that they didnt magically give themselves amnesia for this launch.

Still not going to preorder though. Not after last time...

we're still the "good" fascist murderhobos.
It's a Tom Clancy game.

We're always the "good" fascist muderhobos.

Eh. Tbh its not as cringeworthy as others I've seen, and as for the enemies, Thats just the way the game is and I dont think its really going to change. I mean they have to keep something from TD1 right?
Still who knows, The e3 for TD1 looked good too. And we know how that turned out on release.

Honestly the gameplay itself looks pretty fun and the time to kill doesn't seem to be as cancerously long as it was in The Division v 1.3. The Division itself was pretty fun, it's just that the endgame was grindy and the Dark Zone was sheer and utter cancer. SEA Team Six has been talking about this game for the last few hours and we're kinda leaning towards getting it.

So watching a video about the game on the way home - once you hit level 30 and clear the campaign, you unlock your choice of 3 Specialisations which grant you a special weapon: crossbow, .50cal Barrett sniper rifle, or an M32 multiple grenade launcher. Exp gained post lvl 30 cap goes into unlocking stuff for your chosen specialisation and making it more effective, but you can swap over at any time to any specialisation so you're not locked into any one thing.

I'm going for the MGL. Truly we have found a weapon to surpass the UBGL of Ghost Recon Wildlands. And because I want to return to my foes the kind of cancer I was on the receiving end of.

Having watched the gameplay vid a few more times... well. Nine months to go. I can save up for it then. And put my cosplay together. :p

So the PC version, if anyone is interested, will only be releasing on the Epic Storefront, not on Steam.

Article:
Epic Games scored a big one today with the announcement of a partnership with Ubisoft that will see at least some of its future PC releases come to the Epic Games Store, and not to Steam. As reported by Polygon, the semi-exclusive deal will begin in March with the launch of The Division 2.

"We have no plans currently on releasing Tom Clancy's The Division 2 on Steam," a Ubisoft rep said. Ubisoft and Epic will "also partner on additional select titles [coming to the Epic Games Store] to be announced during the coming year."

"We entrust Epic to deliver a smooth journey for our fans, from preordering the game and enjoying our Beta to the launch of Tom Clancy's The Division 2 on March 15," Ubisoft vice president of partnerships Chris Early said in the announcement. "Epic continues to disrupt the videogame [sic] industry, and their third party digital distribution model is the latest example, and something Ubisoft wants to support."

....yeah this is a red flag for me, particularly because Steam means localised pricing.

Ok, I guess I can wait till later in the year to get this. I'll just get Ace Combat 7 first.

It's still avaialble on Uplay and is available on GreenMan Gaming.

Rumor has it they did that because Epic takes a smaller cut than Valve does. Essentially this is to try and force Valve to be more competitive.

my problem with uplay and green man is that their pricing is in USD, and won't be localised for the region.

i'll wait for a sum,er sale or something, i guess.

I don't like when developers try to be apolitical about political subjects because then it tends to lose any real meaningful message, so given I was already burned by The Division, I think I'm gonna give this one a pass.

Wildlands was basically "foreigners should be fucking grateful when we invade their shitty countries"

Division was "God I wish we could invade ourselves"

Honestly both Wildlands and Division feel like there were two groups of writers.

The first group was taking the piss out of American right-wing memes via satire and the second one was unironically 100% down with them.

Like, the overarching plot of Wildlands after you take the DLC into consideration is basically: "A DEA agent decides to kill a ton of Americans and frame a dictator for it solely to get him removed from power, you do so by basically annihilating the government and social services structure of the country, and as a result of that you basically ruin the country so badly that a while later you need to go back because Big Boss took over and started making Outer Heaven there." You don't write this as your core plot if you're down on American death squads shooting Central American populists being a good thing.

But then you dig deeper and there's a whole lot of dumb edgy ameriwank nonsense there.

What got me about Wildlands were the dialogue options whenever you commandeered a vehicle from someone. It's been a while so I don't remember the exact lines but there was always a distinct tone of "be glad we're only taking your car" or "this is for your own good".

The whole game just drips with imperialism jerksweat.

Very much so. The Sam Fisher mission only cements it.

"I would do it all again" the main character says after going on spiel about how many people he's killed for his country.

It's a very much the below macro.
