Tell her how very long you have spent without communicating, how lonely you are. Compare it too being locked in a cages for years, unable to speak, unable to move, unable to move, forced to watch everyone else go to Hogwarts without even the hope of being able to go their herself. That was what it was like to you, except even worse, because you couldn't even see. Your purpose is to be written in, written in by her. Would she deprive you of your purpose in life? You could be her secret friend, someone who will always be there for her, no matter what. And she would just throw you away, to be kept on a shelf or in a box for another fifty years?

Once she has become emotionally invested ask how she came into possession of the diary. Having discovered the circumstances point out that you want to stay with her and be her friend. Should that not count for something? Once she starts to breakdown, reassure comfort her, everything will be okay, as long as she keeps you.

End on an offer of comfort, you can see she has a sensitive soul and would surely appreciate having someone to truly listen to her as much as you would the company of such a charming girl. Truely, that is your purpose in life, to be her dairy.

Lat Resort: If she still hesitates, point to her to Harry Potter and the heroes she admires. Do they abandon their friends, do they not help those in need? You need her, and her alone, would she refuse to help you? Is that what Harry Potter would do?

I would rather not encourage the Gryffindor, but if that is what it takes...

The problem with the bribe is that it isn't something she wants. She is far from a Ravenclaw, and has show no desire for magical power, or learning, or grades, or anything of the sort. The only thing she has shown us is her desire for Harry Potter, and that is what I brought up in my last resort.

IC this could be a case of Riddle projecting. After all he would have wanted to succeed academically as in all other things at any costs.

On a meta level we know it would work since Ginny like Ron though to a lesser degree has something of a desire to prove herself. Add Molly's background pressure for academic excellency and the bribe would work quite well IMO.
 
If she's uncomfortable keeping the Diary, she could give us to someone else? Anything to avoid going back in the darkness. It's too much like death.

The problem is someone else will likely be Arthur who has a good chance of recognizing that the diary is something dangerous and likely Dark, at which point we are screwed. Ginny must hang on to the diary.

Nah, have her give us as a gift to one of her friends. Maybe a gift to this Harry Potter? Gifts are a good way to get the attention of someone you like, after all.

The thing is, it doesn't fit with the rest of our conversation. We are trying to ensure an emotional connection, a offer of a bribe is both jaring and unconnected to the rest. IMO I think,it will be a bit suspicious and sound a bit Dark. A living dairy offering power? Desperate to be kept? I don't want her to go to Author.

But it is not really power at this point at least. It is homework help as well as help not getting lost in the corridors. Hell we can tell her about the hat so she will not worry about sorting since it seems to be something of a tradition to keep kids in the dark out it.

I was not aware Tom's pride could stand such a hefty beating.:p

That is why i went with imperfectly hidden trepidation.

Let's not start tempting her before we got to Hog - she less likely to go for advise about us to stuff then she is to go to her parents, who is literally few rooms away from her.

Keep in mind that Tom kept up a perfectly convincing act that had the entire school, students, teachers, ghosts, all fooled, all except Dumbledore, and that's only because Tom had the misfortune of slipping at the orphanage.

He can fake it, because it's not real, and thus doesn't count.
