The Choice of the White Howlers (Werewolf the Apocalypse)

The ones that worry me most are the Xibalan--evil Werebats. Between them and the Vamps the Garou slaughtered a large percentage of Gaian Shifters, the American Camazotz. And afterwards they disappeared, not died, disappeared.

The totem of your very tribe, Lion is the incarnation of the cave lion of old, a force mighty enough to terrify humanity even millenias after her passing. To be protected by the Lioness is to be granted strength in close combat and great honor

Benefits: 1 free dot in Melee or Brawl. Three times a day you can issue a great Roar that terrify every tainted creature who hears it

Ban: You must protect all White Howlers Kin even if they are from a different tribe. Even if they turn against you (but not to the Wyrm) you must ensure their wellbeing.

Great and powerful the Green Dragon is the lord of all warriors. His pride knows no bound and his prowess in battle is sung by all the tribes. He grants to his protege some of his terrible flame to wear but demands from them the same suicidal courage that almost damned you.

Benefits: Three times a day you can breathe fire on your ennemies.

Ban: You must never run from a fight or refuse a direct challenge.

[] Caern Rattler

Caern-Rattler is a ghostly spirit of times and peoples long-past. It appears as an amorphous human-like figure, shrouded in a decaying winding sheet that obscures its features from view. Unlike an individual ancestor spirit, Caern-Rattler embodies the knowledge of all of those who have gone before, the wisdom and experiences of countless previous generations.

Benefits: You have three dots of Ancestors. You can, while meditating, seek the memory of your tribe to learn new Gifts, Special gifts of necromancy.

Ban : You must offer funeral rites to all you come across. Even Wyrm servants must be cleansed and sent on their way.

Not all battles are won through might; Kelpie teaches how to use an enemy's own desires as the best weapon against it. While its natural form is that of a gorgeous water horse, Kelpie can also become invisible, or appear as a beautiful human to seduce and then destroy its enemies. It tempts its victims into clambering on its back in horse form, or into its arms as a human, before dragging them down to a watery grave.

Benefits: You can breathe underwater and gain one dot of Appearance

Ban: You must cleanse every polluted waterway. You must also bathe every month in a natural spring of water.

Pretty much. Of the Lion's Brood, the lesser Totems that served the Lion, half fell to the Wyrm and the rest have disappeared. The Green Dragon was one of the former and in the modern setting is the patron of the most terrible Dancer of them all...



Zhyzhak...

So on the plus side, we've weakened Zhyzhak, if not removed her entirely, as much of her utterly monstrous strength came from the Green Dragon's patronage. In game terms, she had a Personal Totem rating of 20, that's how much her favor was with the Totem. That's four times the max a normal PC could achieve.

There's a good reason why many believe the prophecy that she will kill the last Gaian King in the Apocalypse.

Thankfully now because of our actions the BSD don't exist or at least not anywhere near as the numbers and power they canonically had. And its quite possible Zhyzhak doesn't exist now. And even if she did exist, she doesn't have the Green Dragon to power her up.
 
Actually Zhyzak could still exist in a fashion as you could conspire to create a Garou with 20 in personel totem The Green Dragon

Of course she would fight for Gaïa in this timeline.

Anyway as you are an Ahroun, you will have the same stats more or less than King Albretch so a Rank 5 Garou

We're starting the prologue as Rank 5. There aren't too many directions for this to go if it's a personal quest. I'm getting Assassin's Creed 1 vibes.

It could be a leadership Quest. Fighting and trying to lead your people to victory. Like how if you played as a Monarch in Changeling: The Lost that just meant you went up against the Gentry who could still fuck your shit.
 
It's a Leadership Quest with a Maeljin Incarna as prologue boss fight. Here's the situation I envisage.

The White Howlers you'll lead, have been on the losing side of the war against the Wyrm since at least a century or two. Your Tribe has less of ten pure Caerns left. Entire Kin lines have been defiled and corrupted without you being able to do anything about it. Most of the sacred places of your people are now temples to dark deities and fell spirits that your own Kin bring into this world. Your ranks are filled with Elders and Cubs but not many in between.

Things should happen like this

1 The Ritual (do it with or without the other tribes? How will you react to a friggin Maeljin showing up? Will you survive the ordeal? )
2 The Purge (with or without allies? Recklessness or cunning? What will your new protectorate look like, what will you do with your Kin)
3 The Kingdom (what will you do to fight the Wyrm now that you have secured territory? Do you fuck with history and make Scotland a great kingdom before its time? Do you forsake humanity and war in the shadows?)
4 ???
5 PROFIT

Of course your choices will influence the whole thing and perhaps the end result will look nothing like this.
 
Also to be clear.

If it was a personal quest it would have been adventures in Scotland, letting you rise in Rank until the final scene at the edge of the Great Pit where you would have had a choice to renunce the Howlers, try to stop them of being corrupted, or join them in the service of the Wyrm.
 
I personally am hoping to return the favor to Lord Steel with Interest.

Granted we might need a kingdom for that.
