What you were doing before is foggy. Hanging out with friends, walking to a store, or just having fun on your own. What does matter, is that it ended in your death. And before you could grieve for just yourself, you were met with the silhouette of a girl, her presence near impossible to comprehend. "Welcome," she starts, "I am sorry for what you had to endure before now, but it does not matter. They need you and I cannot provide. I never truly was able to, and if the stalemate continues, they will die. You must save them. You are their final hope." And after that ominous message, you are blinded once more and return to unconsiousness.

You find yourself standing atop the Ocean, with Gentle waves lapping against your feet. The skies are clear, with not a cloud in sight. At a glance, you can see nothing, but when you peer off into the distance, you can see what appears to be the outlines of ship hulls off to your left. Before anything else happens, A small voice goes "Hey, uh," You turn around to see a girl wearing a red cloak, looking slightly hesitantly at you. "You wouldn't happen to know where we are, would you?"

I stare through this whole course of events, shocked. I have so many questions, so I start to ask one. "They need me...? Stalemate...? Final hope...? What do those mea-"
Before I can finish, I feel as if I lose all energy in my body and slips out of consciousness.

...

"...Wake up..."

"...Hey, wake up, we have a bit of a problem!"

I slowly open my eyes, blinking a couple times to wake myself up faster. What I see is... The ocean.

Wait...

"WHERE AM I!?"

A girl about my height jolts next to me. "Yeah, that's our problem, and you don't have to shout... Kidd, right?"

I turn to her and think for a second before nodding. "Thats the only name I know, so I guess so... This is a random guess, but could you be Timmerman?"

Timmerman looks shocked. "Y-yeah! How did you know!?"

"I just had a feeling that was your name..."

"That was the same with me... What do we do?" Timmerman looks around, worried.

"We stick together and find out what's going on..." I see a group of other girls nearby. "Let's go ask them." I begin to lead Timmerman to them, waving. "Hey! We have no idea what's going on!"

As we get to where the other girls are, Timmerman sighs. "So... You know what's going on?"

Things fly by so quickly. One moment, I'm sitting down on my bed. The next moment, I feel so light-headed that the world spins around me, forcing me to lie down and close my eyes.

Then I find myself in a dark void, a girl before me, ghostlike or holographic in silhouette. What's going on? 'Them'? Could you be more specific? And why me? I'm not suited to saving people. How in the world could I bring them hope? I'm not the Obi-Wan. But she remains vague, not allowing room for questions, and a bright light engulfs my world.

When I open my eyes, I instinctively cover them, for I suddenly find myself underwater, yet I then realize that I'm not feeling any irritation. In fact, I'm somehow breathing normally, not taking in water, even though I feel it all around me. A glance at my hands shows them to be... webbed, with a bluish tint. Reminds me of amphibians, and of mermaids. My legs feel different, as if attached together, and a look down at myself reveals a most pleasant surprise. My legs are actually a blue tail, a mermaid's fishlike tail, complete with a pair of fins, but more importantly, I'm finally a girl in body. I'm wearing a dress, and I have nice curves of my own. I embrace myself, smiling. I also notice a rapier at my waist, but my mind is focused on finally seeing my body fixed.

Huh? I hear... lots of things. Vibrations through the water. It feels chaotic around here, and looking up at the sources show keels of boats, and... shoes? Like people standing on water. Like shipgirls if they were real. Words in green font show up in my vision, saying that they're still being identified. A heads-up display? IFF?

A voice calls my attention, somehow, despite being underwater, and I turn to it. A gray-haired girl is actually here with me, underwater, but still has her legs. She's wearing a diver's suit, but that bandolier of torpedoes makes her stand out. Is she actually a submarine in girl form? If she is, the text has yet to show what type. Anyway, she seems lost like Gambier Bay. Well, so am I. "I dunno either," I shrug. "I just got here."

...My voice sounds so nice to my ears. It also sounds like Weiss, and seeing a white side-ponytail floating by me makes me wonder if I look like her, too.

Your planes go up without concerns, flooding you with information. You're currently around 2.3 Nautical Miles from the Convoy you could see, which was being attacked and defended by frankly antique ships, none of which would have been out of place during WW2. However, you could feel a horrific sense of wrongness emanating from the Attackers and found yourself enraged at the sight of them for no apparent reason. It was as if they had spat on you and you didn't know it was them who did it before now.

"Well, that's just peachy. I suppose we could continue this conversation, but I would prefer to move away from the battle above us." She gestures upwards, where you can see more explosions detonating on the water and Torpedos are flying around. "This is probably our best chance to get away unseen, and I want to know who's fighting before making any other decisions." She then turns away and starts swimming away from the battle. @UbeOne

There's no change in the info. The shoes and keels above remain unidentified, but then, I hear a feminine voice in my mind. 'IJN ships? How even?' My display updates to include... very familiar names. Indeed, the names are from World War 2 Japanese ships, one of which is the heavy cruiser Chokai. But where did the voice and the ships come from? Kancolle shipgirls?

'Hi, Kazan! I'm part of your sonar crew!' She says. Huh? Me, Kazan? Sonar crew? That sounds as if I'm a ship too. 'Of course! You're a Yasen-class submarine, remember?'

And now more information flows into my mind, things about my identity and my awesome capabilities. Not a carrier's, of course, but submarines are cool too. New... memories enter me, but not much. Mostly a look at the shipyard, seeing my own hull come together, then going off into sea trials... oh my. I really am a shipgirl too. Niiiiice!

That means the sonar person is actually a fairy sailor, residing in... me? 'Your rigging actually,' she says. That makes more sense. So the whole mermaid thing I have going is a rigging... so cute.

The sounds above, however, put my thoughts on pause. I hear explosions, gunfire, the whirring of torpedoes. I'm right in the middle of a battle, and it's happening right above me! That's way too close for comfort. The other submarine-girl suggests retreating, and I nod as I swim, my tail's undulating movements feeling natural to me. Along the way, I feel... a sense of wrongness, of revolting presences twenty-three kilometers to the northeast. All I get from my IFF are question marks. Are those the enemy? The feeling reminds me of how Abyssals are depicted.

The other girl asks for my name, and introduces herself as Seawolf, my ID of her updating at about the same time. Wait, I know that name! That's a class of super-advanced, yet also super-pricey American attack subs! In another time, we might be chasing each other's tails, but let's work together, yes? "I'm Kazan. Nice to meet you, Seawolf." I extend a hand for her to shake.

This still feels too close for me, since my weapons can reach much farther than that, but oh well. "I figure we help the convoy. The other presences remind me of Abyssals." By instinct, I ready my rapier, wielding it on my left. It seems Kazan-me is a leftie, unlike, well, me. "Missiles would be too loud at this range. Are your torpedoes ready?"

In the meantime, I feel my fairy crew still trying to identify the monstrous presences, but so far, there's few dice on that front. Only unknown sonar profiles, though they seem to approximate that of destroyers and cruisers, a raiding force.

Your planes peel off, zooming out to catch the abominations off guard. It works, for the most part. Most of the ships are caught off guard, but a few (most likely dedicated to Anti-air) manage to notice the strike force and begin pelting them with flak. It's relatively harmless, never really coming close to the more heavily laden planes and only bruising the fighters. Your planes begin dropping their bombs and missiles at the heavy cruiser, and the two light cruisers next to it. One of the light Cruisers manages to get off pretty much scot-free, but the other one is heavily damaged and the Heavy Cruiser is smote horrifically. It seems you were able to hit her keel, and she's capsizing. Even if you weren't able to send more than that, you have deprived the enemy force of their main shelling firepower.

The speedy approach? Hm... "I prefer the stealthy approach. We don't really have options if they send torpedoes at us," I answer. While I could intercept torpedoes with my own torpedoes, it wasn't a risk I was willing to take. Not when a good hit or two can send us drowning in the depths. "So let's hit and run from different directions."

I prepare to do just that, my crew readying the Fizik-2s and Type 65-76As for the job.

<Rotate off the planes that are damaged. Launching Avalon and Castle squadrons to rotate> I report, before turning to look at the destroyers.
"Yeah, that's kind of worrying. Hey Enterprise!" Lider calls over. "What's got you so riled up?"
"Because those abominations will stop at nothing to exterminate humanity. My duty is to protect them, so protect them I shall. It doesn't help that I got bloody Isekai'd..." I say, muttering the last portion of the sentence. "Anyways, I'm launching Pheonix one through three and interdictor one through three to provide electronic warfare. Should have done that earlier, but I just needed those abyssals gone..."

Actions:
Rotate Fighter/Bomber for fresh squadrons, repair damage if possible.
Launch 10 F-35 Lightning IIs, 12 F/A-18 Super Hornets, 3 Growlers, and 3 Hawkeyes.

At your responses, you hear a small gasp, and a new voice rings out. "Wha? An answer!?" You can hear some chattering before the original voice comes back. "Quiet down girls! We don't want to embarrass ourselves in front of new allies... Ahem. Could you let us know your designation?"

"This is the battlecruiser Kirov responding. or Admiral Ushakov depending on who you ask, but I prefer the former because it's less of a mouthful and I have pride in being the lead ship of my class."
