While you may not rule this weakened empire, it is your duty as a daughter of the empire to strive to keep it stable. Your brother, Tao Zhang Qingxuan, is stressed and pulled in many directions as he tries to restore it to its former glory. The eastern lands are under threat by the realm of Hoshikaze[2] with some even joining the Hoshikaze while in the south bandits run freely taking the rightful dues of their batters
While the core northern and coastal vessels have maintained their loyalty, they seem to be itching for solutions in the face of the Qingxuan Dynasty's challenges. They are badgering your brother to intervene with the monk orders of the East, begging for aid against the Hoshikaze. With many of the Merchant Clans in the far Liyang[3] region sharing news of chaotic times in the overseas western lands of Xiyuan[4] and much trades and goods would not appear for a time until things settles
