Terris rules Bavaria (CKII)

bavaria 769-790
Just got a computer that is working enough to seriously play games upon.. and thought to myself, why not try doing a lets play of CKII.
this isn't a serious run. I have no real goals, other then keeping the kingdome of Bavaia intact. I will not be trying to establish an empire, and will avoid other king titles like the plague. though I will happily add provinces to Bavaria, and insure the kingdome grows.
This is an Iron man run, otherwise I would be to tempted to use console commands, and all the DLC is active, apart from the Aztecs. if I manage to run this game long enough, I plan to convert it to a EUIV file, and continue from there.

King Tassio III of Bavaria

A family man through and through, he was content with his life as a king, seeking only to have a large family, and die peacefully in bed after the end of a long life. He did invision extending Bavaria's border south, gaining some the pagan costal provinces for the realm and benfit from the medteranin trade, long with bringing the Cristian faith to them.

In june of the year of 771, He succeed in gaining a costal province from a pagan king, though in the end he failed to fully claim the duchy of Croatia, due to the king of Serbia butting in. Still, it was a measure of success, and he commissioned a castle town in the capitol to celebrate the victory.

He also succeeded in his primary goal, with a daughter, Kathrina, being born to him in in 772 and later a second son in 774, Odilo. he would continue to love them for as long as he lived.

In 776, Bavaria experenced it's fist major cricess, when Tassio's cousin, Prince Grifo, attempted to take the bavarian throne by force. for over a year nothing significant happen, until Grifo's men finial arrived. Finialy, on July 1st, the two armies clashed, and after a fierce battle, Grifo's forces fled the field of battle, and eventualy were chased down in Krain, where Grifo was captured, ending the war on September 6th.

Grifo managed to aquire leniency from his cousin, mearly being banished from the relm in exchange for 446 gold. Tassio used the funds to host a grand tournament, and continue to upgrade the capitol, adding proper castle walls to it, expanding the castle town in 778, a keep in 780, and a milita traing ground in 782.

His family also continued to grow, with a second daughter being born to him on July 12, 781. He name her Barbara.

in 783, Prince Theodo, the heir to the throne of Bavaria, became of legal age. Tassio quickly sought a suitable bride for him.

Quick of mind, and a countess of a nearby land, Itta was and ideal match. she would greatly strengthen the Bavaria crowns bloodline.

Soon after, Tassio managed to upspur control the dutchy of Crotia from the Serbian king, and soon pressed his claims for the rest of the duchy from it's previous lord.

The war ended relativly quickly, after the king of Serbia was captured in battle. He gladly gave up the contested provence inexchange for his release. the county was soon given over to Alois of Zengg, who won the grand tournament so many years ago. a decision that would later haunt Tassio.

A third sone was born to Tassilo on Febuary 12, 784. his name was Ademar

Perhpahs letting Grifo go free so many years ago was a mistake... still, Tassio would prepare, and would defeat him like list time.

Tradigy struck on August 17th, 785, asTassio's son Odilo died of pumonia at the age of 10. a day of morning was declared.

Grifo managed to gather his second host. It was just as large as his previous one, but Bavaria had only grown since the last attempt. The invasion was easialy crushed, and Grifo was imprisoned once more. with even more gold then last time, he bribed his way to freedom, and the gold was put towards expanding the capitol's keep, along with two castle towns in the capitol dutchy.

Despite winning the tournament and being granted a titme, count Alois proved his true character. the scoundrel was caught seducing his daughter Kathrina, who had come of age just a few weeks before. Thassio was never one to plot, but this was to far. he quickly set about plotting to deal with this character, who he could not strike at within the legal bounds of the empire.
It proved to easy. Alois made to many enemies, including his spymaster wife, and quickly succumbed.

It is now 790. any direction you wish to see the country grow in? any goals you want me to aim for?

bavaria 790-810

Mostly to preserve the amaricas for later explotation, and possibly randomization if I can when I convert to EUIV
----------------------------------
In the later years of his light, Tassio's thoughts turned more and more towards the scriptures, and toward bringing the light of Christ to the pagan's around him. he would soon begin his own Crusade to enlighten bohemia to the north, laying siege to their lands in an attempt to convert them.

this would end disastrously, and a large loss of face as the locals tribes banded together to repulsed the invasion. while he managed to end it with white peace before they could counter invade, it would dye his future efforts, and would see his spirits drop.

he would finally die on October 13 795, in the mist of a war with Bosnia over some minor titles. while it was a minor death, most who knew him would claim it was a broken spirit that took him in the end.

his son, Theodo managed to take over the reigns of the realm fairly easily, though his father's fame and success would greatly overshadow his own. for the rest of his life, he would seek to be acknowledged as a better ruler then his father, and arise to exalted status among his subjects.

in late half of the year 800, the francian heresy appeared in Nurnburg, in the middle of the conquest of Slavonia from the heathens. they soon revolted, and rose up in rebellion. faced with the need to quickly finish the Slovenian war, along with the rebels, he took drastic measures and expelled the jews, ceasing their coffers in order to hire a mercenary unit. he quickly used it to crush the armies of the Slavonia armies, ending that war, and went on to crush the rebels.
with the end of rebellion, he quickly disbanded the mercenaries, and used the remaining funds to launch a grand tournament, to celebrate his victory.

after placing second in his tournament, only losing to his most outstanding marshal, he finialy achieved his ambition to become exalted among his men. his prestige vastly eclipsing his fathers.
with that fuflied, he settled on increasing his wealth, seeking to establish a buffer for the realm for mercenary, incase another emergency happens.

He also established the realms first retinue, a light skirmisher unit, to better help protect the realm.

after many years, Grifo the adventure died in a far away land. many in Bavaria celebrated his death, remembering the two wars he waged for control over the realm.

with great joy, I concluded a profitable trade agreement, greatly adding to my coffers. having spent only 20 gold in total out of my own pocket, I made over 220 gold for the realms coffers after the stewards cut.

over the next decades, a few more minor wars were conducted, establishing control of more of Croatia, and grabbing modovia. none were worth historical notes, each being completed in less then a year.

Bavaria is growing slowly, each emperor adding more to the realm, extending into the pagan lands.
To the east, West francia rules almost uncontested, though internal elements are starting to appear within it. In the north, the English isle are heavily divided, with no real ruler that might unite them.
Lombardy sill rules the Italian peninsula, headed by our cousin, though he be of a another house.
directly to the north and east, the pagans are staring to fracture. while they still stand together to fight us, their division weakens them.

Is there a way to make the screenshots larger? Currently, the full size version isn't large enough to read most of the text.

None that I've ever found sadly, We'll have to rely on Terris to tell us whats up.
