This is the archive thread for most of my Dragon Ball Z fiction, since I have been writing a lot of one-shots lately, I wanted somewhere to keep them in order. You'll find a list of my works, from oldest to newest complete with a summery and a link to the story in question. Most are, as I said, one-shots. Others may be multi-chaptered, and will be marked as such for convenience of use. This thread will be kept updated, so if you're interested in that kind of thing, keep an eye on it.
Stories are as follows:
Ashes in the Embers of a Dying Race
Following the destruction of their world, the Saiyans are gone as a species. Those few survivors are cast adrift in the universe. This short multi-chaptered fic follows the tale of how Raditz came to be accepted into the service of Prince Vegeta, and what he had to go through in order to be accepted there. Heavy character focus on Nappa and Raditz, less so on Vegeta. A little bit on Bardock too. Complete at 11 chapters, turned out to be a little more action focused than I thought it would. An acceptable short story in its own right.
The Light of Hope/Tears in the Rain
Not every hero has a happily ever after, not every battle can be a victory. Sometimes, heroes die. This short one-shot story follows the Gohan of Trunks' timeline as he goes to his death against the androids. Focuses on the relationship between Gohan and Trunks. Character piece. Complete
Meditations on the Nature of Perfection
It is the night before the Cell Games, and the bio-android of the same name is waiting for the dawn to approach. His wait is not peaceful, for he is plagued by thoughts of his own imperfection, and whether everything he is just another smokescreen by his creator. Character piece focused on Cell and his search for perfection, one-shot. Complete.
Hitting Shadows
Sequel of sorts to Embers but can also be read alone as it doesn't do much to connect with its forerunner. In the aftermath of recovering from a dangerous mission, Raditz power has soared to new heights, but he isn't happy with it at all. One-shot and complete, this story explores the relationship between Raditz and Bardock. Technically a sequel, it only really mentions Embers once, and this is easily ignored.
Shadows of What Once Was
Current work. A sequel to Embers, this fic continues the story of Raditz, Nappa and Vegeta when they are sent to a conference by Frieza on a planet which he wants to scare back into line. Things go badly, however., when they are implicated in a murder, and with Frieza's instructions not to destroy the planet, they are forced to try and work through it on their own. All the while, a powerful foe schemes in the background, a specter of the past stalks Vegeta for the crimes of his fathers, and a dangerous ritual nears completion.
