Is it ? I was under the impression that it would be the horcrux of an horcrux – and that just as fanfiction about a fanfiction is recursive fanfic, that would be Recursive Horcruxes.
I guess this is debatable, but I would use recursive in this instance to denote a horcrux that is part of a loop, going by the properties of the final object instead of the process causing the same process again.

They might just breed tremendously slow. I don't recall Fawkes ever getting attack through, so we have no idea if a Killing Curse wouldn't stick.

Yes I'm implying that they are reborn in their own egg that they will lay at the time of their dead, maybe they lay sometimes and you would get a more or less stable population.
