This is the IC thread for the SV Dawn Of Worlds Game. It should ONLY be used for performing your turn. Any discussion should take place in the OOC Thread, which is is HERE.

The ancient being was bored, there was so very little for it to do; it had already exhausted its limited supply of ideas for activities millennia ago. In its malaise, it happened across something a group of mortals had recently created called an 'internet'. There it happened to find things that sparked an idea to provide one last burst of amusement before even its immensely long lifespan came to an end. These were a forum concept and two games. More specifically, the ancient being discovered the concept of a ROB, as well as Dawn of Worlds and the Civilization Games.

Thus the ancient being hatched a plan; it would forge a blank world, and then it would recruit a number of mortals to act as its pantheon. Of course, a proper ROB never asked for consent according to the internet, so the ancient being opted not to do so. Thus as its selected players went to sleep and began to dream, the ancient being moved to action.

The being transplanted the souls of its players into the new world while bringing time in their original world to a halt, granting each player an infinitesimal sliver of its own divine spark. The Players were then released upon the world, a pinch of dream logic preventing any awkward questions about how they'd gotten there from arising.

The being settled into wait and watch, and the world began to change...

Akatosh

Akatosh sigh while resting in an unknown plain, looking down upon the plain and barren world below him. Power course within his veins, due to the might granted to him through unexplained cause.

However he didn't care as he knew at it's core he become something more, something that his previous mind wouldn't be able to comprehend. He became a God!

With that thought in mind as a god he needed to shape the land in order to start cultivating it into something amazing. Something that would last until the dawn of time.

He waved his hand, pure divine power escape him as he made the bottom continent to the right more hotter. That's not all as he made numerous mountain ranges sprung up to incredible heights, and decided to end it with covering the southern right continent with sand. That's not it as he let rivers came to be and in the grew small patches plain of grassland throughout.

Smirking at his work he decided to reserve the rest of his power until recovering more. This he knows will be interesting.

Akatosh Action:
-Akatosh shapes the land creating mountains, rivers, and grassland to the place. However desert came to be and were scattered through the southern right continent. (Shape Landx3 3 Points)

Anar

Anar too looked upon the barren world below him, taking in the rocky continents devoid of life - it was an affront! No world should be without life, and thanks to (what was apparently) a giant cosmic accident, he could fix that.

First would be tweaking the land to allow life. It would be agriculture in time that would support great civilisations, so he would have to develop the land to allow for it.

At his command one of the continents began to change, the rock softening and grasses growing across a great stretch of coastline. He felt his power flow strongly, and curtailed it when he had spent just over half - there was more to life than just the land it lived on after all. He began to shift the climate, so it would be warmer during the colder months and cooler in the warmer, the perfect weather for year-long agriculture.

At that, he rested. His power was mostly spent, and it seemed that other Gods were making adjustments of their own to the world. He would have to wait and see.

Anar Action:
- Convert the North-East continent to grassland along the western coast (x2, 6 Points)
- Adjust the climate in that area to allow for mild winters and warm summers (x2, 4 Points)

Mordecai looked upon the planet below him. Rather... plain, currently. Perhaps... Yes, a desert there... and a trecherous mountin range there. Excellent.

Satisfied, he went back to ironing his tuxedo.

OOC: I took the liberty of going ahead and post my action since I saw that there was empty spot and no one said anything on my application.

The mind stirred in its restful slumber.

It was disturbed by something on the surface.

It can feel something moving on the surface. Living, breathing, rediculous things, entropic and inefficient and wild and scary.

It was scared.

It turned its mind upon the world above. Watching as the other gods enforced their visions upon the world, watching as they grant and nutured life.

Monsters, one and all. They are no gods, but vile demons, come to commit genocide on the restful silence and spread the disease of life.

The mind watched as the silence of the stones and sands was slaughtered as the corruption spread and seeped. It knew that the world was defenceless against this vile atrocity. It must act. It must protect this world from this henious transgression.

To do this, it required a way to directly influence the world. It needed an Avatar of its will.

Within the natural caverns that run deep within the bowel of this planet, hundreds of crystal veins glowed red hot as divine will was imbued into them. Together, they melted into rivers of blistering liquid and converged into a single spot, where they formed a single massive transparent egg. Within, an arachnid silhouette could be seen

Time passed, and the egg cracked, broken open by a huge chitin covered limb.

The Protector of Silence was born.

Action: Create Avater (10 power)

Ur-Gash

Sleep.. Long peaceful sleep.. But now it is time to wake up. Other gods have come into this realm and began to shape something beneath them.

She looked down, and snorted contemptuously. A world has arisen in her slumber. A fresh new world without.. Without anything.. It's an empty place with barren land and water. A boring place.

One of the big continents caught her attention. A big desert spreading in the south. Ur-Gash gave herself a mischievous smile and began her actions. Shortly thereafter a big rocky place with an iced lake and a few frozen rivers was created.

Ur-Gash's actions:
Shape Land 1" on the southern east landmass. 2x 3 points

Elris
Elris gazed down upon the empty world and saw a blank slate, one ripe for shaping as he desired. His attention shifted to the eastern most point of land and he worked it with his will. A mountain range sprang from the ground to the west, filled with vast deposits of iron and coal, and silver if one knew where to look. Meanwhile two river systems formed to the east, and a primordial forest surged into being in the surrounding area. As his power focused further on this land the mountains took on a more ominous air, and the trees presenting a foreboding visage as they clawed towards the sky.

Elris Actions
Create a forest, mountains, and rivers in the eastern section of the North-East continent. Iron, coal, and silver present in the mountains. (Shape Land x2, 6 points)
Imbue this section of land with his corrupting influence. (Corruption x2, 4 points)

Down in the depths, something began to stir. Formed from the murky darkness in those regions that never felt the touch of the son, it had been awoken by the work of the others. Even as their will began to shape the world, it was briefly lonely, tempted to drag the others done to the depths with it. The beginning of common sense restrained it, after all if they wanted to visit then they would have done so already.

Clearly once they felt the touch of its works, they would come to witness the marvels it would do. Formless, shapeless and unable to be perceived, it none the less spoke a single word that wasn't quite a word. Three 'islands' were considered worthy of its attentions, and so they felt the majority of its touch. Painting them with the exquisite colors known only to those that dwelled down below, it deliberately ensured they were unique nad unusual in the world, various shades of greys, blues and other hues.

While they others wanted to use the palettes of that they came from, it was less picky and more interested setting a scene. While they could still support life, the shapeless one was more focused on ensuring the plants and trees there were as useful as they were beautiful. A vast arrays of useful medicinal plants and hardwoods would ensure that while they could theoretically bulldoze the islands to grow food, they'd be better off sustainably harvesting them for industrial purposes

To eat, they would have to expand.. or pay homage to the one that dwelled within the depths. While the work above ground was painted with a different brush, it was only underneath the sea that the true beauty could be found. Awe inspiring coral reefs (or they would be once there was someone who could be awed), bountiful forests of sea life and breathe taking underwater 'mountains' and valleys. All of which were 'linked' to the three islands by an array of carefully dug tunnels that allowed both light and goods to get in (assuming you were aquatic or had decent swimming gear).

Actions

Creating two and a half island paradises and a wonderous undersea forest teaming with life to support them! Both of which are resource rich! (Shape Terrain x 4 = 12 Points)

Well, this is...weird.

I stood-well, not really stood, per se- over an empty, barren plain. Somehow, I could sense other people like me, working on shaping the... Earth? No, not Earth. Anywaaaaaaaaaaay...

My will solidifies, and around me, trees sprout and form. To the west, a great plain erupts into existance, surrounded by mountains. A single river waters it, while resources form in the mountains. Finally, I extend the forest to the south and north along the coastline, before wrapping it around the south of the plain. A plan slowly began to form in my mind...

Aynar awaken with quite ease and speed , from the moment he started to feel he knew that he had to do something , but not sometimes but always , it was something he had to do no matter what , as he soon discovered that he hated doing nothing more than anything he had hated before and well that was pretty much nothing , so he discovered his hate towards laziness . The time passed and he soon found ways or rather invented ways of maintaining himself active all the time , like counting the stars in the "thing" he soon started to call universe , because of that he also found that he could name things and so he did over , over and over , until he found a tiny blank planet , totally blank but in a blink of a eye started to take form , he could also do that he thought and he tried , at first he did small things , not important at all but as the time or like Aynar named it "Soriah" passed , he saw that he could do much stuff with lots of detail , because even the smallest mountain had many little things that he could change to his like.

When he had finished or rather got another way to maintain himself active , a new land mass appeared in the world one with many biomes and climates , one with many resources and rivers , one that may be inhabited in the future.

Strategic Resources:

Aether: When this mineral is heated up , it works like inverse of gravity , useful for airships.
Blue Coal: Coal that produces way more heat
Colla Crystals: Magic Crystals that can store up large amounts of energy , spirits , souls and magic.

2x Aether
2x Oak Wood
4x Iron
3x Copper/Tin
2x Blue Coal
2x Coal
3x Stone
1x Colla Crystals

Luxury Resources:

2x Gold
3x Silver
2x Marble
1x Silk
1x Diamonds

Hoen

Awakening after quite a long time Hoen looked around, the world was still barren but was changing around at an alarming speed. He didn't have much power yet, but it was enough for what he was planning to.

Exercising his will on the world Hoen began raising mountains from the ground.

Hoen's actions:
Turn the selected part on the map into a highly mountainous region.
Shape Land 1 2x 3 points

Anar
As Anar looked over the grassy plains, he pondered. The great fields were lush with greenery, and the climate was such that animals had already started to make the plains their home.

(No-one knew where the animals had come from, when he asked the other Gods. No-one had deliberately made them, but one day he had turned round and found small herds dotted across his fields)

However, it quickly became clear to Anar that fields alone would not be sufficient for life to prosper. So he got to work. Expanding the plains towards the rising sun, he began to alter the fields, creating gentle swells and small valleys across them seemingly without order. This continued until he arrived near the edge of the formerly-rocky plain, where a great forest heralded the edge of some mountains. He caused the plains to seamlessly meld with the edge of the forest, creating more trees to fill the gaps.

Pulling, he caused two masses of water to rise forth from beneath his neighbour's mountains, running under and around the trees until they burst forth in a sparkling spring. Watching the water flow forth, he smiled as it found its way into the paths he had designed earlier. The water flowed across the great plain, alternately lazy and rapid as it followed the contours of the land, flowing across the continent until the two streams merged into one. It was not over there though, as the now-thicker river flowed even further, curving north to cross the first plain.

Eventually it reached the sea, ending with a mouth that was tinted darker by the rich river mud. Anar could imagine a great city arising on this spot, some years down the line.

Following the river back east, he tweaked and changed the contours of the land - some godly sense telling him which parts of the river bank would need strengthening, lest they risk collapsing and ruining a harvest some centuries forth. Reaching the confluence of the two rivers, his eye was caught by a reflection - one more shiny than the river water alone. It was silver - a deposit apparently washed down river from below the eastern mountains. That would make someone happy far down the line...

Continuing his journey, he reached the edge of the forest. Already the trees were teeming with life, insects and small animals rustling through the vegetation. It was here, he decided, that he would give his first direct blessing to someone down the line. Mentally assessing which of the nearby trees were the healthiest, he imbued them with a fraction of his power. Instantly, the leaves turned purple and thick fruit hung down from the branches. This would be a hardy fruit, but one that would be healthy to all living things. So he decreed.

Soon after, he made his way south to the second river, and repeated the procedure. Two sources of his fruit, so that no single person could control both. That was his idea. He would have to see if it worked out.

Actions:
Alter Terrain x3 (9 Points). This includes the creation of a luxury resource (Silver) and two strategic resources (Godfruit).

Mordecai

He looked upon the world, and saw a distinct lack of snow and snowy trees. Perfect for setting Swedish Murder Mysteries in. Well, that should be easy enough to change.

Actions
Alter Terrain x 2 (6 points).

Well, now that the basics are done... time for Step 2.

First, with a quick stroke of the arm, the mountains to the north extended, sweeping around in an arc to the south. A thought caused a narrow valley to form, ringed in a protective range except in two points. A river leading to a really long lake, a small forest to the north, some gold and silver, and a deposit of tin rounded that off.

Hmm... what else... I know!

I expanded the forest and grasslands outside of the fertile valley, and added some copper and iron deposits in the mountains. Then, deep in the forest...

I created a special substance. It was flint-like, capable of flaking off into sharp edges at a touch. But that wasn't its purpose; no, that was something else.

You see, any living thing that was pierced by a flake of this substance would develop a ⌈Stand⌋, a manifestation of their fighting spirit. If they didn't have Earth-level intelligence when pierced, they would gain that along with a Stand. However, if they didn't have enough fighting spirit and Determination, they would fall sick and die.

I created one vein of the stuff, and hid it beneath the earth in the deepest part of the forest. I then decided to rest for a bit and check up on what was happening over in other places. My attention was drawn to the resource-rich island to the west, just north of the underwater paradise. Specifically, to the stuff known as Colla Crystals.

Perfect! I hope he won't mind...

A quick bit of analysis, and the material was copied and placed in two veins also in the forest. I finally ended with some more useful resources.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand then I noticed the dude making snowy plains up north. Better say hi.

Ur-Gash

She glanced upon the snowy terrain and nodded. That's a good start to begin with.

Shortly thereafter she noticed another change on the big landmass.

Three are a few too many, she decided and moved on. There is a place and a time for everything and she can wreak chaos sometime later.

Ur-Gash moved on to the only other continent untouched by her divine brothers.
The world is lacking a jungle, abudant with fruits of all kinds.

And a little to the south a gigantic mountain chain, seperating the arid desert from the hot woods.

Ur-Gash's actions:
Shape land 2x (grass, jungle, underwater plains)
Placed resources (iron, fish, bananas)

Akatosh

Akatosh narrowed his brow as he saw someone place a snow region near his desert, until releasing an irritated sigh. Well there goes his plans down the drain, and it would do no good to get mad over a setback. With that thought in mind he concentrated back onto the southern right continent and went back to work.

Once again sand came to be as well as more mountains and a river. There as well came regular resources such as iron and other mundane things. Added along with that is a forest and as once again he used up most his power, stopping there with a proud smirk. His part is done and now he must rest; however he will keep a look out on whoever messes with his plan and will get revenge. Time will never forget.

Action:
-Shape Land into becoming a desert, mountain rising to its peak, grass spreading throughout the lands, and the woods came to be. (Shape Land 2x - 6 Points)
-Place Resources (Metal, Fruits, and Vegetables. Fish as well.)

The Darkness looked upon its works, and it saw that they were good.

But nobody had visited him to take a look at them! Worse, someone else had dared to paint the area just north of us, to befoul his riotous designs with their 'subtlety' and 'cunning'. Clearly they would need to be shown the true value of his projects. Reaching out to prepare 'something' that would be enough, it wondered briefly what it would do. Before another reached out their hand, an infusion of power from one that had yet remained unfocused upon their world.

Although it would taint the purity of the Design, the power was none the less accepted. Infusing it with the traits it liked best, and frowning as the Other one did the same, the formless mass 'twisted' somewhat, shards of itself flinging out amongst its undersea 'paradise'. As the shards began to take upon a visible form, it was surprised to find it was doing the same, perhaps as a side effect of 'diminishing' itself, or at least accepting anothers power.

"Awaken my children and gaze upon what I have wrought."

Its own shape was mirroring that of its creations, though perhaps on a grander scale. It wasn't exactly 'visible' merely defined in a way it hadn't previously been. The Darkness now had a face.

"These lands I give to you my children, the islands and the sea surrounds them. Take care of them well, for these are my temple, and their gifts as yours as long as you keep the Faith. The world itself is yours, and all the pleasure that it contains, but only for as long as you are prepared to take it."

There was no way something like that would ever backfire on it right?

Forging a Race (Receiving 11 points from @ziizo )

(I have 3.5 remaining, they have 8)

Name of Race: 'The First Ones'
Physical Description: Heavily built and dramatically over sized 'monsters' forged at the beginning of time, those that proudly refer to themselves as the First ones were forged through the combined efforts of oziiz and Vilgan. Originally designed by the God of Darkness to caretakers of the lands it designed for them, to keep it company and admire his 'great designs', they are infused with his own love of pleasure and comfort, an almost racical urge to both accumulate wealth and spend it having a great time.

From Oziiz they received perhaps more 'practical' gifts, an almost physical addiction to hard work (that often contrasts with its desire for pleasure and fun) and a severe lack of sentimentality. While their drives ensure they would seek out new horizons and new sources of pleasure, it would perhaps be less then appreciated by those that already exist there, who wouldn't enjoy being considered 'wasteful' or being used as fuel for further entertainments and further industrial projects.

Hardworking, Hard partying and with a strong hatred for being in someones debt or being useless, many would say that it would perhaps have been better if they had never left the forests designed to be their home.

Odum watched as his the plague infringed upon his blessed silence. Not too long, it will consume this world.

Unacceptable.

Ii required missionaries and prophets of its own, those who will be its agent in this dark age.

Odum turned to its Avatar, and commanded it to act.

And act it did.
The monstrous spider turned to the sky and shot two jets of poison to the heaven. It kept spraying and spraying, spreading purifying toxin to the heaven.

Then, came the rain. Not of water, but of a greenish poison that breaks apart proteins and reduce amino acids to their constitutents. The rain kept pouring and pouring, and as long as it does, not a single germ will survive.

The avatar then turned to wasteland before it, and dug. With each of its mighty step, mountains rose one after another, forming a mighty wall that cut off the plauge.

As the avatar carried on its course, parts of its body broke off and fell to the earth. The crystal shards, infused with Odum's hatred for all living things, became one with the metal veins in earth. And thus, came the blessed material known as Silent Stone, a blood red metal that carries with it a purifying aura that break apart all living things in its vicinity.

Action: Create Climate: Purifying Rain. Create Terrain: Mountains and Silent Stone

Elris
The sight of mortals intrigued Elris like nothing before had. Here were beings that thought and acted freely, but with intelligence, here were beings that could be guided. He stretched out his power once again to effect the land, choosing both new areas, and those already influenced by his fellows. The land would be shaped, and the blank areas diminished, this time mostly without a direct suffusion of his power. Instead he chose a less direct approach, one that would be dependent upon the actions of the newly existent mortals, the creation of a very special metal. This metal, called Elrium, would embody the core aspects of Elris. It would be a metal without compare, light, strong, workable only with magic and capable of amplifying it slightly, and one that exuded a slow corrupting influence upon those who used it.

Elris Actions
Place a source of Elrium, along with some copper and gold in the mountains south of the plains on the North-East continent, with some forest and plains added. (Shape Land, 3 points)
Add forest, rivers and plains to the tile to the right of the mountains, along with some fruits and vegetables. (Shape Land, 3 points)
Add forest, rivers and mountains to the tile right of previous one, with a source of Elrium, tin and copper in the mountains, and fish off the coast. Infuse this tile with corruptive energy. (Shape Land, Corruption, 5 points)
(Also added one lot of fish in the tile above this, hopefully that's okay without paying points as I didn't realise we were doing abundant amounts of food as a separate resource when I did my last turn.)
Add a mountainous island and placed a source of Elrium in it, north of the First Ones first city. (Shape Land, 3 points)

Elrium is a strategic resource.

Age 1, Turn 3 Start
Time goes by...

The first ones originate in their first underwater city and begin to multiply. They expand as they do so, quickly learning how to heat ores with magic to forge metal underwater.

Soon however, the First Ones encounter an anomaly: the bottom slopes up to the surface and then disappears. Curious, some parties of First Ones venture onto the land, and find that they are just as comfortable in an above water forest as one below the waves.

It takes a century or so, but eventually the First Ones above water develop a different culture from those still below water, breaking away from their original home fairly peacefully.

Things would have continued like this for a very long time had Elris not raised the island of Jare. The undersea First Ones noticed this anomaly appearing in their area of influence, and sent a team to investigate.

They scaled the mountain, and there they found a new ore they had never before laid eyes on. They brought it back to the forges below the waves, and the smiths tried to work it.

Normally this would have failed, but undersea smelting techniques used magic to heat the ore anyway, and thus the First Ones learned to forge Elrium.

At first everything seemed to be going great, but the land-dwelling First Ones began to notice that their undersea relatives were becoming more brutal, decadent and sadistic the more Elrium was in circulation. Even some of the underwater First Ones realized what was happening, thus they refused to allow any Elrium into their city and declared their independence from the Deep King.

The Deep King would not have tolerated this even were they not corrupted by the Elrium crown they wore. They thus attacked the uncorrupted undersea First Ones in an attempt to bring them back into the fold.

Thankfully, the pure undersea ones were able to resist the assault, but only by calling for aid from the land dwellers. The Deep King was absolutely livid, and rebuilt their strength before trying to invade the land-dwellers to the north to punish them for their impudence.

The land-dwellers managed to turn back the assault, and decided to launch a retaliatory strike of their own. Thus they employed an invention that the sea-dwellers had no reason or way to construct: ships.

They sailed their vessels directly above the Deep King's palace, before deploying a weapon never before seen. Weighted kegs filled with alchemically-treated coals were pitched over the side, burning at immense temperatures even underwater, boiling the sea around them.

Thus the throne of the Deep King burned, and the Deep King with it.

Time goes by...

Mordecai

The new race that had appeared upon the planet had certainly been interesting. Ordered civilisation, plenty of murder, and... the other two didn't really apply. Ah, well. Looking at the large cold area that he had just created, an idea sprang to mind. After finding a sympathetic fellow willing to lend their power, Mordecai began the process of creating the race. Which was, all things told. Relatively simple. Oh well. At least the city they built was pretty.

Actions:
Create Race (22 points)
Name of Race: The Great Race of Yith
Physical Description: they are tall and cone-shaped, rising to a point with four strange appendages, all of which can extend and recede at will to any distance up to about ten feet. Two terminate in claws, the clicking of which acted as a method of communication, a third in four red "trumpets," and the fourth, a yellowish globe featuring three eyes around the central circumference, flower-like ears on top and tentacles on the underside. They have no sexes and reproduce by spores instead, though rarely because of their species' longevity. Movement is achieved via expansion and contraction of a grey, rubbery layer at the base of the conical body.
