Got an idea for a fallout empire town quest. Can you survive the harshness of the atomic wastes?

Helloooo people of the capitol wasteland! Can you heeear me? This is a GNR public service announcement so you kiddies best listen close!

The thing to remember is the wasteland isn't dead, not by a long shot. Even now there are people fighting the good fight, trying to make it day by day.

Survive, thrive and revive. That's the name of the game.

[X]The good town of Megaton is scraping by as usual. They have water and people want that. To keep out raiders they built walls. Well people want safety too.
An attractive trade location, it might get more visitors if it weren't for the unexploded nuke in its centre.

TRAITS
Strengths:
Clean Water! Your purifier can process enough water for the town and still have a surplus to trade.
Defense! You have thick walls, nearly everyone is armed, you have a dedicated sheriff and even a couple of reprogrammed robots.

Weaknesses:
Holy crap a Nuclear Bomb! Your town was literally built around a nuclear bomb. Better hope it doesn't go off.
Raiders! These anarchistic ruffians want what you have, and they aren't into asking politely.

SPECIAL!
Moira Brown. She commits acts of SCIENCE! These can be really good or really bad, plus everything in between.... So long as you're not her assistant you should be fine.

[X]As good a place as any to settle down I suppose. Far from the utter warzone that is D.C your little town is an attractive place for the trade caravans to rest and hawk their wares. With a former trader in charge you make sure to get good deals.

Traits
Strengths:
Merchant Empire. Get good deals with the trade caravans and are able to invest in them to get a portion of the profits they make.
Scott Wollinski. A mechanic with years of experience fixing up 'bots and just doing general maintanance and repairs on all sorts of things.

Weaknesses:
You're kind of lacking in defenses. But you shouldn't need them right?

[X]You is a Mungo adult now and thus, can no longer stay in little lamplight. Dozens of young people, all of them onetime residents of the childrens hidden city. Well you don't need things like their safety or their food, you can protect yourself and find your own food.

Traits
Strengths:
Adaptable. This is a fresh start for all of you. As both you and your population learn to survive in the wasteland all sorts of things are possible.

Weaknesses:
Constant raids. Slavers, Raiders and supermutants constantly attack you.

[X] As leader of the brotherhood you must scour the Capitol for its valuable pre war tech, fortify your new home and gather the faintly glowing embers of technology so that the fires of civilisation can one day be relit.

Strengths:
Well Equipped, you have advanced T-45 power armor, high tech laser weapons and a variety of other advanced technology.
Experienced Soldiers: The brotherhoods troops are the best trained soldiers in the world, easily a match for any idiot raider tribes.
Scientific expertise. The scribes orders, though small are vital to the maintanence of your gear and the uncovering and advancing of pre war technologies.

Weakness: Few in number, every loss is one you cannot afford traditionally only those born into the brotherhood may become members, however in desperate times outsiders have been recruited.

[X]A city of Ghouls! Lucky, or perhaps not so lucky people who though they have been exposed to lethal amounts of radiation didn't die. Instead they turned into what they are today, skin flaking off, hair falling out, they look like walking corpses and are often derogatorily called 'Zombies'. Whilst true that some ghouls lose higher reasoning most are just people, good, bad and in between. Unfortunately some things never change and because they look different they are often reviled by humans.

Underworld is a city within a city, hidden from the common masses those afflicted with ghoulhood, both pre and post war citizens try to make a living in what remains of Washington D.C.

Rad Regeneration! Instead of being harmed by radiation it actually seems to heal ghouls, Doctor graves is still looking into this exciting phenomenon. This means that they can scavenge places that normal humans would have to be insane to try exploring, absorbing the radiation with no ill effects. This means that they have acquired quite the stockpile of useless anti-radiation medicine.
Kin of sorts. The monstrous supermutants tend to leave ghouls alone for some reason, instead of dragging them off to god knows where like normal humans they just ignore them. Unsurprisingly the 'feral' ghouls don't bother their kindred either.

Weaknesses:
Those other assholes. Bigots and overly cautious types tend to shoot ghouls first and ask questions later, if ever.

Feel free to suggest strengths and weaknesses for any write ins/ settlements not already covered. You can even try and create your own.

Not for a while, probably a day or so. Maybe longer.

I would suggest intelligent deathclaws or super mutants. But that may be lol noped to hell.


Intelligent deathclaws are a lolnope, they do exist, but not on the east coast.

Intelligent supermutants....

Vault 87 is a possibility, but you wouldn't start off smart.

Ah kay.

The biggest issue with super mutants, besides the lack of intelligence, is the reproductive capabilities. We'd be reliant on the humans for new mutants, which is a bad bottleneck. We'd have to figure out a way to fix that.

More seriously there is a way of fixing Supa mutant sterility. Multiple ways in fact.

Because even if we have to flee Underworld, we can always take over Megaton. Free healing right next to the nuke, and nobody would be nutso enough to fire at it.

we can start up a Man at arms system to supplement our forces. their not brotherhood, just people who fight for us because we provide technology and medical care to their families.

Ghouls need moar love. Well, the different ghouls than Charon anyway. Also, what are the odds of us providing support for Project Purity and improving the image/reputation of ghouls everywhere? Oh, we also need to burn Paradise Falls to the ground :V
 
On the subject of the brotherhood.

The brotherhood has contracted Mercenaries, Scavengers and yes, indeed recruited tribals into its ranks you guys can go in pretty much whatever direction you want.

Just be aware that there may be members who interpret your oaths differently.

Ghouls need moar love. Well, the different ghouls than Charon anyway. Also, what are the odds of us providing support for Project Purity and improving the image/reputation of ghouls everywhere? Oh, we also need to burn Paradise Falls to the ground


It's a possibility. Not likely but it's theoretically possible that you get the waters of life flowing a couple of decades ahead of schedule.
