That went excellently.

A few seconds pass by in silence before an idea pops into your heat-addled brain.

"Hey Shinji, help me get out of this inflation fetishist's plugsuit, would ya?" You ask. Shinji stammers before blushing.

"But, aren't you..." He trails off as he doesn't finish his sentence.

"Consider it a reward for keeping from falling back in the lava." You say with a smile.
Tsundere has gone dere!

*Breaks out the party poppers*

Who goes to assist Stella? (Pick THREE of the following choices)
[ ] Unicorn Gundam
[ ] Freedom Gundam
[ ] Rose
[ ] Steel Jeeg
[ ] Combattler V

This is basically a big free for all brawl right? I think Freedom goes well because Kira-aimbot-Yamato can handle targeting in this chaos, I'm not familiar with Unicorn, but Rose should be fine too.

We also need at least one heavy to tangle with their super robot if it comes at them, so thats either Steel Jeeg or Combattler.

What does the fleet in orbit do to weaken Sahaquiel?

[ ] Beam bombardment
-Attack with high powered beams from their ships
-Will keep the fleet out of range of Sahaquiel's AT field, which it can use offensively
-Not as powerful, but area coverage will force Sahaquiel to commit more of its AT Field to defense in the wrong direction

[ ] Mass Destruction
-Bombard Sahaquiel with N2 mines and reaction warheads
-The fleet will have to get closer to Sahaquiel, putting ships at risk of its AT field
-Very powerful, will weaken AT Field substantially and may even damage Sahaquiel

I think distracting Sahaquiel for the mecha to finish the job should be fine, ships don't do good against weaponized AT.

Do you link Veda to Casper?

[ ] Yes
-Will prematurely kill Iruel, allowing tactical assistance to be given to the battle above sooner
-Will reduce Veda's ability to assist the Gundam Virtue in shooting at Sahaquiel
-SEELE will become aware of VEDA's existence

[ ] No
-Destruction of Iruel will proceed 'on schedule'

Current battle seems in hand, though more help doesn't hurt. Prefer not to expose VEDA to SEELE.

[X] Freedom Gundam
[X] Rose
[X] Unicorn Gundam
[X] Beam bombardment
[X] No

With all that the choice isn't too difficult.

Neither the Jeeg (7 Ability, 6 Armor, access to Focus spirit) nor the Combattler (8 Ability, 8 Armor, access to Focus) have enough ability or boosting capabilities to be safely sent against Council forces (at best, they'll do mostly fine against mooks, but fail to do anything to the Bodybuilder most likely), whereas the Unicorn (Ability 7, Newtype 4 provides a +4 bonus to Attack rolls and Evasion DC, Mobility 8, access to NT-D mode and Focus) should either have enough Will to trigger NT-D mode (which is a +8 to its rolls in the current situation) or be close enough to said Will threshold to be able to use NT-D soon, which should make it competitive against the Bodybuilder, hence why I want the Unicorn to be the third mech sent to help Stella, aside from the Rose and Freedom.

That's if the NT-D activated and actually provided a bonus against the Body Builder Robot which is probably not a Newtype. Both Jeeg and and the Combattler are Super Robots and have access to some crazy powerful attacks which I am sure would do good damage if they hit. Still the Freedom and the Unicorn should be able to do damage and keep the enemy leader busy.

NT-D's +8 is for cases when it fights against non Newtypes; against Newtypes it is +10. Also, Ability is used to resolve Attack rolls and most attacks are rolled at 1D10; rarely do we have situations where we have attacks that roll more than 1D10 (Some of the Zeta's and ZZ attacks roll at 2D10 once Biosensor triggers; there was also the combined attack of the Ra Calium, Archangel and Nadesico against the Council leaders during Crisis at Eterna rolled 3D10). There's no guarantee that Jeeg and Combattler have access to attacks that roll more than a D10, and, as I've said, their Ability score is mostly alright, but their boosting capabilities are limited, which makes me belive they will struggle against the Bodybuilder, even if they have some Will built up (last two Council leaders we've fought were Ability 10, Bodybuilder is at the very least in that general area, if not higher and he's likely got a good armor score too; also remember that Council hero units are also equipped with shielding, so just hitting them isn't enough; hitting them as hard as possible is needed if we don't have ways to bypass their barrier in some way, be it Fury or some passive that ignores barriers). That said, one could argue that Combattler has access to stuff like Valor/Soul and/or Fury, but it's not certain what spirit commands the sub pilots of Combattler can access.

Sub-pilot crew: Once per round of combat, 1 sub-pilot can use a spirit command beneficial for the current situation

NT-D Mode: at 8 Will or above, gain +10 to all attack rolls and evasion DC, +8 if not fighting a newtype.

The Combattler should have some attacks that have the barrier piercer passive ability and with the Grandasher and the Super EM-Spin and Jeeg should also have attacks that wil lessen the effectiveness of any barriers the Council Robot has. They certainly have access to more powerful attacks then the Freedom does for sure.

The point being that they would not be useless fighting the Council leader mech on the field even though I don'tthink the Unicorn and the Freedom are a bad choice for supporting that fight.

Well that went pretty well, lava angel is done alongside the invading forces, giant enemy spider is also done and we just need to worry about the balmians and the council.

For help, yeah the rose and the gundams should be enough, we kinda don't need more supers on that front.

For orbit angel, beam bombardment seems to be the safest, in canon the angel was destroyed by a teamwork of the 3 evas when it reached ground level, so we can go for default choices at the moment.

Hacking angel, tbh I rather not let SEELE know any of our cards, those bastards will use anything they can get so the instrumentality project goes without a hitch and that is without counting who else may be allied with SEELE, since I don't doubt some of their projects have other parties involved, so we better not link up with Casper.

Link up?
[X] No

But man this was really an obligatory pick from our choices, like imagine Shinji, Asuka and Rei trying to solo all this shit in record time.

And that is without counting that next comes the big ass ball that keeps Shinji trapped for a good while and Bardiel aka the EVA-03 hijack.

I really hope we can get something like shin getter or at least getter dragon for the later soon, just so that we can repeat Alpha 1 moment.

View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJnX3Zw_Z9k&ab_channel=Nickioh

Also seeing as Voltes V has the choudenji ball we should also try to pair it up with Combattler V on some mission to see if we can get them to pull off the V-Slash/EM spin combo attack.

There is also the Combattler, Voltes, Daimos combo, but that one needs the grand dasher starting part and the fire blizzard which are not implemented yet.

I must admit, it's hard to beat That Time Getter Ate Bardiel for awesome SRW moments.

November UE 0083
NERV HQ, MAGI Core-Casper

You are Misato Katsuragi, and you are not enthusiastic about Ritsuko's plan.

"So you're plan to kill Iruel is to let Casper get infected so this kill program of yours can destroy the Angel?" You ask skeptically.

"That about sums it up." Ritsuko answers as she and Maya lift up the cover for Casper's core.

"And if it doesn't work?" You rebut.

"Relax, if my calculations are correct, at the pace we're working, we're a full second ahead of the Angel." Ritsuko says as she and Maya start inputting the kill program.

"That's not a very big lead." You note pessimistically.

"Would you rather have no lead and be neck and neck with the Angel, or, god forbid, one whole second behind?" Ritsuko snaps at you.

You wisely choose to shut up and let Ritsuko and Maya work.

Wilderness of Azadistan

You are Tieria Erde, and you try not to think of Lockon Stratos as you line up your next shot.

N.U.N.S. Fleet bombardment on Sahaquiel
vs
Armor DC 20 = 10 Ability + 10 (AT Field)
Roll 1d10 + 10 Ability + 4 (Beam weapons)
Roll 1
1 + 10 + 4 = 15
Result: No damage is dealt to Sahaquiel, and it doesn't divert its attention as much as anticipated

Gundam Virtue fires Super Substratospheric Altitude Gun
vs
Armor DC 18 = 10 Ability + 10 (AT Field) - 2 (diversion)
Roll 1d10 + 8 Ability + 4 (9 Will) + 3 (Direct link to VEDA) - 2 (Not the Gundam Dynames)
Roll 8
8 + 8 + 4 + 3 - 2 = 21

Result: The shot wounds Sahaquiel, debilitating it enough for Tieria and the fleet in orbit to kill it with follow up shots

"Gundam Virtue, take the shot now! I don't think the Angel's taking the bait!" An N.U.N.S. comms officer says.

You make sure you're locked on before firing. The massive pink GN beam lances through the air into orbit. After a few seconds, the fleet contacts you again.

"Good hit, I say again, good hit Virtue! Angel is wounded, and it appears its ability to project AT Fields has been affected negatively by its injuries!" A comm officer tells you.

The next few minutes consist of you firing the Super Substratospheric Altitude Gun as fast as you can while the fleet in orbit pounds the Angel with everything they have.

"I think we just hit the core! The Angel is exploding into a blood-like substance! Wow, uh...that's a lot of fluid." The comm officer reports.

You sigh before leaning back in your seat.

Above NERV HQ

"HAH!" J-Decker yells as he smashes a Fishbowl with his baton.

Guard Diver shoulder checks a CQC machine before blasting it with his water cannons, slamming it into the side of a building.

You see Stella charge at the Body Builder Robot.

"Damn it, anyone available to help me cover Stella?" You ask over comms.

"This is Kira, I'm coming in!" Kira answers.

"The Unicorn is close enough to help!" Banagher says.

As you maneuver the Rose closer, you see Stella's Destiny Gundam fire its beam rifle at the Body Builder Robot. The beam rounds deflect off of a green energy barrier that shimmers into existence.

"You were there when Shinn was killed. ANSWER ME! WHERE IS THE MACHINE WITH A CROSSBOW FOR ITS RIGHT ARM?!" Stella yells.

The pilot of the Body Builder Robot laughs.

"Oh, you're after the Hunter, huh? Well, I got no idea, but if you kill enough of us, the higher-ups might send him after you. Don't bet on that happening though, cause I'm killing you RIGHT NOW!" The Body Builder Robot surges forward toward Stella's Destiny Gundam.

"Oh, you think I'm going to make it easy for you?!" Stella yells as her Destiny Gundam jets up to avoid the Body Builder Robot's wild haymaker.

The enemy Super Robot takes a follow-up swing at the Unicorn Gundam, which is able to avoid it easily by leaping back. As the Unicorn shifts into NT-D mode, Stella charges at the Body Builder Robot while bellowing an incoherent battle cry.

Stella starts by throwing a pair of beam boomerangs at the Body Builder Robot, which bounce off of its energy shield. She then fires both the Destiny Gundam's beam rifle and its long beam cannon in concert, pelting the energy shield and causing it to falter. As the beam boomerangs come around and hit the energy shield again, Stella draws the Destiny's anti-ship sword and charges forward, slamming into the energy shield and finally breaking through, carving a large gash across the Body Builder Robot's torso. A wild swing from the enemy Super Robot forces Stella back before she can use the Palm Fiocina beam cannons.

"Oh that's funny, you think you can take me on with a bunch of shitty Gundams? I STARTED MY CAREER tearing apart Gundams! Just ask anyone from a dimension that uses the A.G. calendar system how that ended for them!" The pilot of the Body Builder Robot boasts as his machine charges forward.

"We won't let you do as you please in our dimension!" Kira rebuts as the Freedom Gundam unfolds all of its weapons.

View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNz6Olypbq8

The Freedom Gundam fires everything it has at once, salvos of beam rounds, railgun slugs, plasma, and even 76 mm shells from its head mounted CIWS bombarding the Body Builder Robot, which brings up its energy shield. At first the shield holds steadily, but starts to falter under just how much crap Kira is throwing at it, and eventually fails, allowing a barrage of fire from the Freedom's HiMAT attack to strike it.

Although Kira's attack doesn't do as much damage to the Body Builder Robot as Stella's did, still incenses the pilot, who bellows in rage before igniting thrusters in its back and charging at the Freedom.

View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFpSqAwckyY

It's forced to bring up its energy shield to block a round from the Unicorn Gundam's beam magnum.

"Why are you invading us, anyway?" Banagher asks.

"Wouldn't you like to know?" The pilot of the Body Builder Robot taunts as he charges the Unicorn.

The Unicorn Gundam, its psychoframe glowing red, jets backward as it fires round after round from its beam magnum at the Body Builder Robot. As it reloads a fresh clip of E-pacs, Banagher fires the Unicorn's head-mounted vulcans at the enemy Super Robot. As he finishes reloading the beam magnum, he fires it again, and the Body Builder Robot's energy shield finally shatters as the powerful beam round strikes it in the shoulder.

You see your chance.

"Nina, maximum output, now!" You order.

"Right!" Nina says as she obliges.

View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRHiTWhgwjY

The Rose glows red as you charge up a massive beam attack.

"Wait for it...now!" Nina says.

"COME ON!" You yell as a massive beam erupts from the Rose's chest.

The enormous red and pink beam sails forth and collides with the Body Builder Robot, which doesn't have a chance to raise its Energy Shield. The enemy Super Robot is encased in pink crystal, rendering helpless as you begin your assault.

"Squeal for me!" You yell as you lash at the imprisoned Super Robot with the Energy Whip, eventually wrapping it up with the whip and drawing it close to you.

"For my family and friends that you took away from me!" You cry out as you stomp the Body Builder Robot into the ground, which breaks the crystal it was encased in.

The Body Builder Robot surges back up even as it's sparking from its joints, but its attempt to bring down the Rose is interrupted by a red and blue blur.

View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYuJbNzzD-o&list=PLz4n1uJr-xWAFXMj2r-OsLVIwAa4dimjp

"Double Tonfa!" Choryujin yells as he bats aside the Body Builder Robot's arms. The green jewel in his forehead glows, and suddenly another Super Robot of similar design to him appears in a flash of green, green on its right side and yellow on its left, with a golden head.

"Brother, let us finish this quickly!" The newly manifested Super Robot says.

"Agreed, Gekiryujin! How about we do it like old times?" Choryujin says. You're pretty sure that if he had a mouth, he'd be smirking.

"Why not?" Gekiryujin shrugs before the two of them leap into the air, clasping hands for a moment and appearing to exchange energy before separating.

"The blazing heat! The frigid chill!" Choryujin yells.

"The howling gale! The roaring lightning!" Gekiryujin yells.

"MAXIMUM TAO LONG!" The two of them yell in synchronization.

Each robot fires two energy beams in with the shape of a Chinese-style dragon, Choryujin's being red and blue, Gekiryujin's being green and yellow. Against all logic, the dragon heads open their mouths as if roaring before they collide with the Body Builder Robot. There is a colossal explosion, and when the smoke clears, all that is remaining of the enemy Super Robot is its torso and head, all four of its limbs having been blown off by the combined Ryu Super Robots' attack.

Before anyone can move to capture what's left of the enemy machine and its pilot, the remaining Council forces rally around it, some disengaging from combat with the Balmian Battle Robots to do so. None of you are able to break through the ensuing screen of covering fire before they disappear in a Dimensional Distortion.

Gekiryujin salutes Choryujin before dissipating in a cloud of green particles, who in turn salutes you before disappearing in a Dimensional Distortion. Guard Diver gives a cheeky wave before the same happens to him. J-Decker walks up to the Rose and wordlessly presses a small container into the Rose's hand before saluting you and subsequently being swallowed up by a Dimensional Distortion.

You all turn to the remaining Balmian Battle Robots and the transport Richter took to get here.

"It appears there are things occurring that we do not yet fully understand. Consider yourself fortunate, Kazuya Ryuuzaki! For now, I withdraw, and for what little it is worth, Erika still only has room in her heart for you. We shall meet again!" Richter announces over his transport's external speakers before he and his forces retreat.

In the aftermath of the battle, you and Nina managed to open the container that J-Decker gave you. It's a case of crystals and a hard drive, no doubt explaining what said crystals are for. There's also a photograph, which depicts a wedding between a young Japanese man and a Britannian woman of around the same age, and who you assume are a few close friends of either the bride or the groom. You turn over the photo and find the following written on the back of it: Yuuta Tomonaga and Regina Tomonaga, nee Argine. Visible guests: Seia Onue, Ayako Kimizuka, and Juzo Saejima. February 5, UC 0152

You're overcome with an inexplicable sense of loss and sadness, and fight back tears as you put the photograph away.

Well, despite everything, it all ended well.

All 4 angels have been taken down, hell I would say sahaquiel went better than in canon, the magis just need a little restart and the council wasn't even that annoying once we got the body builder robot damaged, but fuck, next time we find body builder or any upgraded council machine we will need barrier busters, wish we had null barrier attacks like big volfogg melting siren.

Also sad we got the battered limb, still undecided on who to send it to study it.

For the mech with artillery I say romefeller, they are probably the ones with the most artillery experience considering Wing has the walking artillery that is the heavy arms, who knows maybe a little upstart to get the heavy arms custom.

Either way we are just missing our bonding, the political party formation, railroading Unicorn plot and finally what is probably the last battle againts Zagato.

And this is why Nina is such a good copilot...

Either way we are just missing our bonding, the political party formation, railroading Unicorn plot and finally what is probably the last battle againts Zagato.

Actually, the political party action was done during New Order and Angelic Chorus.

As for salvage... whatever limb we choose to get (tentatively in favour of recovering an arm), it should be sent over to Mithril, since Whispered have a better chance of gleaming something from fragments of technology. Regarding the artillery mech... not sure if Romefeller can gleam anything from it that would advance the AC-era tech further (we already have access to the Serpent, so Heavyarms upgrade shouldn't be that far away anyways; that said, Romefeller isn't exactly focused on just AC-tech, for their mobile suit research also got us UC-tech and CE-tech, so it could advance those tech trees instead) and there's also the risk that whatever is gleamed from analyzing the mech filters down to the elements of Romefeller that aren't loyal to us and could use any advancement gained from the analysis against us (unless Dermail and his loyalists have been defanged by Neo-Hope's dissolution). Maybe pass the artillery mech to the Gundam Scientists? Analyzing the artillery mech should be in the area of expertise for Dr. S... (that said, it does arguably run into the same issue as Romefeller in that AC's tech tree is arguably close to the end and therefore unlikely to provide an advancement)

I'm honestly not sure about the Bodybuilder research, here. While having Whispered support is an obvious plus, it's also putting our eggs in a basket that is often targeted, and there's not a guarantee that Mithril, which honestly has some more limited tech trees, will be able to fully adapt it in a timely manner for our use.

As for *which* limb...Uh, that depends. Do we want to know how the cartoon strongman stands, or how he punched?

Yeah that is mostly the problem.

We are already having Mithril analyze the arm so they are out, the black knights and camelot tbh don't gain much from artillery, specially knigthmare frames as I don't think they really benefit from having a loadout similar to the heavy arms, specially since we will find at this point at least one brittania unit with a barrier, so.

We could sent it to dragon hive iirc that was Dancouga stuff and we have honestly been neglecting that a little.

And sadly no Celestial beings seeing as they are replacing stuff, wonder if they would have been available had we chosen their tech branch for those season 2 gundams.

Just going to say, for research, even if it doesn't have direct applications to the group that does the research, it will still have benefits for SOMEONE in the group. Who you assign the research to mainly affects what applications are found, and how.

Decided to go ahead and split the salvage based on what I've said earlier (that said, I'm willing to hear what other people in-thread have to say about salvage allocation). Given QM's explanation on the matter, I expect that sending the artillery mech to the Gundam scientists will yield more applications that we can use (helps that one of them has an expertise when it comes to ballistic weaponry).

Yeah this seems the sensible thing to do, doubt we are getting much ground break over here either way, but hey we can hope we get something neat like the barrier research from last time.

I'm guessing the limb is progress on their tech trees? Council units are mixed up abominations, anyone can find some later stage of their own stuff in there
