Right I was forgetting for a bit what all went into our favorite Friendly Neighborhood Misunderstood AI.

V= Veda, Gundam 00
M=Melchior, Evangelion
B=Balthazar, Evangelion
C=Caspar, Evangelion
Z=Zero System, Gundam Wing

So the Robots get along well enough even though they haven't yet performed the fusion dance yet. Also, not exactly caring about personal expense in line with pursuit of their goals is a very in character thing to do. Also I can never keep straight which of Evangelion's Magi is supposed to be which.

In other considerations, I'm relatively positive that we'll at least have to fight Council forces in this deployment. It's part of why I want troops on recon so that they can actually get a turn if a fight suddenly starts without needing to deploy from any of the ships.

Or the vote could just involve retroactivly stating which units are actually combat ready when the shenanigans start, what do I know?

I wanna link our Veda with our Magi and let them eat Iruel with additional processing power.

"Sorry, it's just really complicated. During the war, your parents and their colleagues decided to make something to help protect the dimension they sent you to. They ended up combining VEDA, NERV's MAGI, and the ZERO System along with some of their own computer systems and shunted it into a pocket dimension so that the Council wouldn't find it. I was never told what it's called, but the system's been monitoring this dimension since you were born, and can create copies of anyone who was killed by the Council, along with their machines, and give them knowledge that they need. The copies are basically indistinguishable from the original, but they can't really...exist very long." Stella explains as best she can given the complex science involved.
....... The King of Braves has fallen.

.... I am now very sad.

EDIT: Wait a minute. They said "in it's inferior form".... THEY KNOW ABOUT GENESIC!? HOW EVEN!? I mean, I understand this "Council" is incredibly powerful, but how on Earth could they have beaten the God of Destruction? It's made for overwhelming numbers of incredibly powerful opponents!

That is the thing,, Genesic may be powerful, but it needs to go trough final fusion process 1st.

If they can get Galeon and Guy before they form genesic it is over.

And even then Genesic got quite trashed on the final assault againts the Sol Masters

There is also that we still dunno on what point of gaogaigar they are over there.

They may as well be trapped still on the trinary solar system alongside the rest of 3G.

I thought of that, but Stella specified the pilots and machine our AI buddies are sending are replicas of people who died fighting the Council. And the Final Fusion has a barrier, remember? They showed people trying to interrupt it more than once, it never worked.

Beyond my mild depression at the fact the King is no more, I must admit my curiosity at when all the series that happened by the time of the Council's invasion will appear here. We know Buddy Complex actually aren't replicas, we see them regaining their memories and coming to help - unless I misinterpreted that scene. Godannar appeared, but we've seen no sign of them - either the pre show events or those of the series proper. Destiny hasn't happened yet, and probably isn't going to - I fully expect Stella to drop everything to make sure Shinn won't go through the hell he originally did this time. GGG... That's the most interesting. The AI Brigade know about Genesic. Therefore, by the time the Council invade for real, FINAL has happened. Which means.... we might actually be due for the Primevals soon. This raises further questions, however - how come we haven't heard of the "meteor" that was actually Pasdar? Why hasn't Chief Taiga contacted us? And how have a group as well connected as the Vanguard not heard the slightest inkling of 3G yet?

@theguynamedwafer , would Stella know the answer to these questions? If she does, is there a reason she hasn't mentioned it yet?

I thought GGG were having issues with being 'Between Universes,' At this point in the timeline? Or am I thinking about another quest entirely?

Either way, the King of Braves is in no position to solo a great many of our problems.

I don't think so, as according to the timeline we haven't even seen EI-02 yet, let alone the events that cause 3G's false exile. Additionally, when we did see the King of Braves earlier, it was one of what we now know to be replicas of those who died fighting the Council in Mira's home universe. A perfect replica indistinguishable from the true Gai Shishioh (or Guy, however you spell his name here), but not the real deal and implicitly meaning he and Galeon somehow died during the war. However, they were at the point of FINAL or later in the other dimension, because the AI Quintet know the secret behind the King of Braves - that GaoGaiGar is in truth a mere imperfect replica of Genesic. That means that it has to have been during or after the battle with the Sol Masters that they attacked, because not even 3G themselves knew what GaoGaiGar's true form was like until after it appeared. Which means that by the time the Council launched it's full invasion, a few months after the Destroy Gundam was unleashed on Berlin, Genesic had appeared. That implies to me that in this universe, where we've only just gotten to the midpoint of SEED, that the Zonder War can't be far off.

Stella would not know about these things. And also, I will exercise GM fiat and say that if an anime isn't on the series list in the informational section, it does not have a narrative presence in the 'current' dimension, so you won't have to worry about fighting something you may not have the counter for. The dimension that Mira was conceived in is not 1:1 for what is present-it's similar, certainly, but there are differences too, which is part of why Mira was sent here. So you won't have to worry about fighting, say, Arm Primeval out of nowhere.

TLDR: Not every anime that is referenced through transdimensional assistance will have a 'counterpart' in the current dimension.

Edit: Also, time travel is not involved in Mira's origins. Yes, I know Boson Jumping is a thing, but that is not something that you have easy access to at the moment.

August (?) UE 0083
Location Unknown, above a heavily forested area

You are Kira Yamato, and you are certain that you're currently out of your depth.

Nonetheless, you are currently in the Aile Strike, escorting a shuttle from the Nadesico that has Captain Misumaru and Ryoma Nagare down to the clearing where a group of four people were spotted. They almost certainly saw the Archangel, Nadesico, and Ra Cailum appear in the skies above them. Hopefully they'll be able to give some context. As you descend, you spare a glance back to see the Arm Slaves of Uruz Squad jump down from the Nadesico's launch catapults into the forest below, followed by the Gundam Deathscythe doing the same from the Ra Cailum.

Stay safe you guys. You think to yourself as the Strike descends.

You touch down a short distance from the shuttle and exit the Strike. Now that you're closer, you can see the other group of people more clearly. Three are young girls, and the fourth is a young man with green hair...and clad in what appears to be the outfit of a fantasy forest ranger, with a sword sheathed on his hip. As you take a closer look at the girls, you realize they're even younger than you-not one of them seems to be out of middle school yet. In contrast to the forest ranger looking fellow, they're all wearing Japanese-style school uniforms, though judging by the different colors, none of them go to the same school. The girl in the red uniform has short red hair and a long braid that almost goes to her elbow. The girl in the blue uniform has long blue hair that goes slightly past her waist. The girl in the green uniform has short, wavy blonde hair kept in place with a red hairband, and is wearing glasses.

Upon closer examination, you realize that there is fantasy-style armor in certain places on top of the girls' school uniforms. Looking between the three of them, the common pieces seem to be a gauntlet on the right arm, a jeweled glove on the right hand, a shoulder pad on the left shoulder, and some kind of chest piece.

As the shuttle opens its door let out Yurika and Ryoma, you see the forest ranger draw his sword in fright, only for the girl in green to wave him down. You walk over to Captain Misumaru and Ryoma.

"How are gonna handle this?" You ask Captain Misumaru.

"I'll start the conversation and ask most of the important questions. Kira, you butt in if you think I'm missing anything. Ryoma, you keep an eye out for anything...fishy." Captain Misumaru says.

You and Ryoma nod in acknowledgement before the three of you walk toward the group.

"Hi! I'm Yurika Misumaru, captain of the warship Nadesico and representative of the Solar Vanguard! Would you mind telling us where we are?" Captain Misumaru says in a cheery tone while flashing a 'V' sign.

You try not to cringe, and judging from Ryoma's expression, he's trying to do the same. The red-headed girl speaks up.

"Oh, wow, the Solar Vanguard? I didn't know you could come over to Cephiro!"

You decide to interject.

"We didn't come here intentionally. We were investigating a Dimensional Distortion above Tokyo Tower when it sucked our ships in." You explain.

The girl in green adjusts her glasses before clearing her throat.

"I believe an exchange of information is in order." She says.

"Sorry about that, let's start with names. I'm Hikaru Shidou!" The red-head says eagerly.

"Umi Ryuuzaki." The blue haired girl says.

"Fuu Houoji." The girl in green supplies her name.

"And I'm Ferio." The forest ranger looking fellow says.

"Like I said before, I'm Captain Yurika Misumaru, commander of the warship Nadesico." Captain Misumaru says.

"I'm Kira Yamato. I pilot the Strike Gundam." You say as you jerk your thumb back toward the Strike.

Before Ryoma can introduce himself, Hikaru squeals in delight.

"I knew you looked familiar! You're Ryoma Nagare!" Hikaru says in admiration.

"Uh...yeah, that's me." Ryoma says, momentarily struck dumb by Hikaru's reaction.

"Please, Hikaru, you can fangirl all you want later. You guys want to know where you are? Well, welcome to Cephiro. It's a magical land that can only be entered from the outside with, well...magic." Umi says.

"That doesn't really tell us much." You deadpan.

"Apologies, it's just that Hikaru, Umi and I only recently entered Cephiro ourselves. We were summoned here via magic to become the Magic Knights spoken of in Cephiro's legends to save it from impending calamity." Fuu says.

"We have to save Princess Emeraude from the clutches of High Priest Zagato!" Hikaru explains eagerly.

"What's so important about this Princess Emeraude?" Captain Misumaru asks quizzically as she tilts her head in confusion.

Ferio chooses this moment to speak up.

"Princess Emeraude is the Pillar of Cephiro. Her prayers sustain the land, and without those, Cephiro will fall into ruin." He explains.

"Sounds like a pretty sh-cruddy system." Ryoma notes out loud. Ferio shrugs.

"It's been that way as long as anyone can remember." Ferio says.

"So, what, are you on your way to deal with Zagato?" You ask with a raised eyebrow.

"Actually, not yet. We aren't actually Magic Knights yet. In order to properly become Magic Knights, we have to get the legendary ore Escudo from Eterna." Hikaru explains.

You resist the urge to pinch the bridge of your nose.

What is this, a JRPG? You think to yourself.

Yurika is about to ask the girls and Ferio something when you hear a crackle in your earpiece.

"Do you-ead me? Come in!" You're pretty sure that's Duo Maxwell.

"Say again?" You ask in confusion.

"Ah dam-There, do you hear me now?" Duo asks.

"Reading you loud and clear, Duo." You say.

"Great, now get out of there! There's a crazy lady who can summon dirt golems and use magic, and she's heading right for you!" Duo says urgently.

You glance to the side and immediately grab Captain Misumaru before diving to the ground. Not a second too soon either, as a pair of wicked-looking icicles flies through the space the two of you had been occupying not a few seconds before. The girls and Ferio duck, while Ryoma sidesteps before reaching into his coat and pulling out a sleek, silver tomahawk.

You hear an inhuman growl and look toward the source to see some kind of clay golem charging at you. There's a flash of light, and suddenly Hikaru is charging at the golem while brandishing a European-style broadsword. The golem takes a swipe at Hikaru, only for her to dodge the clumsy blow and bring her sword down in what you're fairly sure is some kind of kendo technique, hacking the golem in two. You look around to see Umi stabbing a golem with a rapier, while Fuu has a bow and arrow. Ferio has also drawn his sword and is slashing at a golem.

"Alcyone! This is your doing, isn't it!?" Hikaru shouts into the surrounding trees. The only response is another icicle flying out of the tree line, with Hikaru rolls to avoid.

You draw your sidearm and level it at a golem, firing off three rounds. To your dismay, the bullets don't seem to do much damage.

"Here!" Ryoma tosses you a gun case. You catch it and open it up to see a rifle of some kind inside.

"The rounds that fires are rated to penetrate Saurian hide. If that doesn't do the trick, nothing else we have on-hand will." Ryoma explains.

You nod and load the rifle before bringing it to your shoulder. You fire a round at a golem and subsequently blow its arm off with a single shot. You nod at Ryoma in approval, whose face breaks into a wicked grin before he charges at another golem.

The golem notices Ryoma, but before it can do anything, Ryoma brandishes his tomahawk and hacks the magical construct to pieces.

"What's that axe made of?!" You ask in bewilderment.

"Super Alloy Z. Juzo Kabuto sent this to Profesor Saotome as a gift to celebrate getting the patent for the metal." Ryoma explains.

"Interlopers! Do not think you can defeat me so easily!" A feminine voice screeches.

Everyone turns toward the sound, and you see an attractive woman with long blue hair in a...very revealing sorceress outfit step out between the trees, brandishing a staff. You assume this is Alcyone.

"Alcyone! You're still trying to stop us?" Hikaru says vehemently.

"Of course. I shall destroy you all, and earn the love of Zagato!" Alcyone says before chanting a spell and firing off more icicles.

You all duck to the ground or otherwise dodge, except Ryoma, who charges through the barrage of magical projectiles, hacking apart any that would hit him with his tomahawk. You take the opportunity to line up a shot and fire a round at Alcyone's shoulder while prone. The bullet is deflected by a magical barrier, but it's enough of a distraction for Ryoma to close the distance and bring his tomahawk down in a vicious two-handed strike.

Alcyone tries to block the blow with her staff, but she's too slow. Right as the tomahawk makes contact with Alcyone's skin, she appears to turn into water which flows some distance backward before turning back into the sorceress, who is now clutching a deep gash in her abdomen.

"Do not think this is over!" Alcyone bites out before disappearing in a flash of light.

"Why do our enemies keep saying cliched stuff before escaping?" You wonder out loud as you start to get to your feet.

"Beats me." Ryoma shrugs as he offers you his hand. You take it, and he pulls you up.

A rumbling sound heralds the arrival of Uruz Squad and the Gundam Deathscythe. Judging from the scuff marks on the Uruz Squad's Arm Slaves, and the fact that the Deathscythe has its beam scythe ignited, they encountered hostiles of their own.

"Glad you guys are alright. So, who're they?" Duo asks.

Tactical and Strategic Update

You have met the Magic Knights (to be) of Cephiro, and Ferio, the ranger.
The Magic Knights are Hikaru Shidou, Umi Ryuuzaki, and Fuu Houoji. They claim to have been summoned to Cephiro via magic to become the Magic Knights of Cephiran legend and save the realm.
In order to become Magic Knights, the girls must retrieve the legendary ore Escudo from Eterna and take it back to their friend Presea, the blacksmith.
Ferio knows the way out of the Forest of Silence, and the girls claim that Mokona (Puu!), a...magical companion given to them by Presea, will know the way to Eterna from there.
Alcyone was gravely wounded and forced to retreat, but Ferio has confirmed that magic can be used to heal wounds, so she will doubtlessly make a move in the near future.
The girls claim that Presea or Clef, a sorcerer they made contact with shortly after arriving in Cephiro, should know how to send the ships back to the Earth Sphere.
The Jeeg Team and Build Angels seem to be worried about something...
The Rose is picking up intermittent Dimensional Distortions of the type that usually herald Council Forces...

Just to make sure, the option for interacting with the girls happens regardless of being by land or by skies, right?

Well, I'll admit that I am very preferential to the Knights getting a chance to talk more with the Getters, both because of how Hikaru reacted to Ryoma, but also because I really think that they have a lot that they can teach to the girls.

It's the other choice that I'm unsure of.

Also... I am more feeling walking than flying, but that's because Cephiro is very much a world of tropes and ideals, and going the long way would be the right choice to make sure that they face the challenges that they are supposed to.

Never change ryoma, never change.

Seriously it is always funny seeing Ryoma just charge at stuff and breaking a lot on the process.

Also Hikaru fangirling over Ryoma bodes good things.

Mostly deciding on foot since the girls are still green as magic knights and if we do end up finding trouble on foot again, at least the guys will know what they need to train (Ryoma and Hayato probably for melee and Amuro and Benkei for ranged), sure they will prolly not like the training program Tetsuya and Ryoma will probably wipe out once we get them all together, but they will thanking to whatever god is out there once it actually becomes useful.

Sad Tetsuya and Kazuya aren't here, was funny on T how they got a team of bodyguards consisting Tetsuya and Guy and that is a team you don't want to mess with, Kazuya for similar reasons as Ryoma, press enough of his buttons and you are probably walking on body casing, just ask Miwa on A portable.

Update!
"I'll start the conversation and ask most of the important questions. Kira, you butt in if you think I'm missing anything. Ryoma, you keep an eye out for anything...fishy." Captain Misumaru says.
Certainly seems like a good plan. Never let Ryoma do diplomacy. Unless it's the asskicking form of diplomacy, then he's perfect.
"Hi! I'm Yurika Misumaru, captain of the warship Nadesico and representative of the Solar Vanguard! Would you mind telling us where we are?" Captain Misumaru says in a cheery tone while flashing a 'V' sign.

LOL at everyone still adjusting to the Nadesico crew being... the Nadesico crew. How many months has it been and they still aren't used to each other... not that the Nadesico team's collective madness is easy to adjust to. At least Hikaru is rolling with it!

Get used to it Ryoma. She fangirls like mad over the SR pilots in every SRW she's been in, and this isn't gonna be much different it seems.
"We have to save Princess Emeraude from the clutches of High Priest Zagato!" Hikaru explains eagerly.

Thank you for saying it. Because really, the Pillar of Cephiro gets an unbelievably shit hand in life. Like my God.

Welcome to Cephiro. Everyone is complete bullshit.
The girls and Ferio duck, while Ryoma sidesteps before reaching into his coat and pulling out a sleek, silver tomahawk.
Batshit Ryoma happening in three... two...

SRW hasn't brought it up yet, but the Magic Knights do like 90% of their fighting on foot. Rayearth doesn't actually show up very often...one...

Oh yeah the Dinosaur Empire still happened here... O7, Musashi, you crazy bastard. Also interesting that you need special guns for Saurians, though I guess it makes sense most guns would be mildly underpowerd for literal humanoid dinosaurs.
And... zero.

Do not fuck with Ryoma. He does not need Getter to beat the shit out of you, it just makes things faster. Also neat way to integrate the settings there - it makes total sense to make melee wepons from super alloy, especially since they don't have to worry about whether the Getter will let it integrate with the transformation when on foot.
The Rose is picking up intermittent Dimensional Distortions of the type that usually herald Council Forces...
Oh MOTHERFU-
The Jeeg Team and Build Angels seem to be worried about something...
Oh yeah, the Jama Kingdom... If I recall, they're the enemies of the original Jeeg. It seems they're Cephiran here... it'll be interesting if Hiroshi appears.

I'd say this is a good plan. Going on foot means we won't accidentally skip any of the Rayearth plot, and I seem to remember a lot of people needing help because of Zagato's minions being mostly insane. It also gives the girls time to get stronger, which is always a good idea - they'll need everything they can get, both physically.... and mentally. I don't look forward to fighting Emeraude. I really don't.

Getter Team because A) we need some asskickers if things go wrong and B) because I really liked their interactions in T. Hopefully the concentrated insanity isn't contagious. Amuro is here because this team needs an adult. Desperately. And no Ryoma, you don't count, you are worse than most shonen protagonists. And also more than a little insane.
