I loved Dai-Guard as one of the more upbeat Mecha Anime of the past twenty years, which really means we really need to embarrass these Council assholes next time we see them.
Really, he seemed pretty young to me and before the brain damage that led to his death was the driving force behind the Federation Mobilesuit efforts and had the Ear of General Revil. He created the best all around suit of the Conflict and would have keep right on going in my mind. If the man had survived the war with his brain intact he would have been a major force in Federation technical circles although his son would probably have been a political liability with the distrust of Newtypes many had.
In Gihreen's Greed's alternate route, Tem Ray founded his own organization composed of the best scientists and mobile suit engineers although they lack their own roster of pilots on their side.
Also had General Revil lived, he would have done something to help the Newtypes in the Federation compared to how they're treated in canon.

Orbit of the Moon
Kira Yamato glances over at the Yamato-no-Orochi and notes its current trajectory. He then compares it to its previous trajectories, and sees that the concentric circles it's going in are getting smaller.
A thought occurs to him.
"Hey, guys, didn't Kyo say that he and his sister came to Earth in a ship called Langoon?" Kira asks.
"According to what everyone remembers, yeah." Mu says.
"Did he ever mention where they put Langoon after they came to Earth?" Kira asks.
"I don't think so..." Cagalli says as she recalls the report.
"Well, that's definitely not the Langoon." Kira says, the Freedom pointing at the Yamato-no-Orochi. "Maybe Kyo and his sister hid their ship somewhere on the moon, and Himika is looking for it? I just did a comparison in my head, and the circles that Himika is going in seem to be getting smaller."
"If you're right, then that means Himika is getting closer to finding Langoon. That's not good." Athrun says.
"Well, Giganos and those high-tech unknowns keep attacking her. I don't think she'll be able to get to Langoon without doing something about them." Dearka says.
"I hope you're right..." Kira sighs as he and the rest of the group head back toward the Archangel and Eternal. Side 7
Repair Roll-1d8
Roll 4
Result: Repairs proceed as scheduled, no sudden bursts of progress, but also no delays
A group of N.U.N.S., OZ, and Anaheim Electronics engineers look over the Behemoth that was brought into the spaceport earlier that day.
The heavily damaged Gunbuster lies in the drydock, the resemblance to a patient sprawled out on a hospital bed uncanny.
"And the manual that pilot Takaya gave us says that this thing is the result of two battleships combining?" One of the Anaheim engineers asks in disbelief.
"Apparently so." An OZ engineer replies.
"Why aren't any of the Super Robot institutes on Earth handling this?" Another Anaheim engineer asks.
"They've got enough on their plate already. Besides, we already know how to work with transforming battleships. Just ask any crew member of a Macross class vessel." One of the N.U.N.S. engineers says.
A technician walks into the observation bay.
"How's it look?" One of the OZ engineers asks.
"If the onboard diagnostic program is to be believed, we've got our work cut out for us." The technician brings up a diagram of Gunbuster.
"We'll start with the most visible damage. Left arm? Completely fucked. We're gonna have to tear it off and make a new one." The technician draws an 'X' over the left arm with a stylus. "Secondary torso sensors? Totally fried. And let's not even get started on the armor plating. According to the diagnostic program, half of it was about to fail. I'm surprised the Fold to Earth didn't completely strip it off."
"What isn't completely fucked?" An N.U.N.S. engineer asks.
"The main reactors are fine, surprisingly. Some of the weapons are also fine. The Buster Colliders in the legs seem to be in good condition for how much Takaya said they were used, and apparently the 'Home Run' weapon system is completely undamaged, if the onboard diagnostic is to be trusted. Everything else is hit or miss." The technician shrugs.
Most of the gathered engineers sigh.
"You sure the eggheads understand the Tannhauser science that powers most of this?" An Anaheim engineer asks.
"Professor Yumi from Photon Power Labs double checked the math for some of the more basic stuff and says it checks out. As long as we don't screw up when making parts, everything should work fine." An OZ engineer retorts.
"Alright then, let's get to work..." The Anaheim engineer says while looking over Gunbuster.
Assuming there are no delays, and if the action is taken every turn, repairs should be complete in 3 turns. Wilderness of Thailand
You are Kenichi Go, and as you fly over the Thai jungle in the Volt Cruiser, you struggle to keep your emotions in control.
After all, this is the first inkling you've had of father ever since the Boazanian invasion started. Of course you and your brothers would be...excited at the opportunity to get him back.
As you contemplate your state of mind, the radio crackles to life.
"This is Adder-1, no sign of the Boazanian craft in area D-4. Moving on to D-5." A VF-171 pilot reports.
You silently curse the Minovsky Particle's effect on visual searching over long distances.
A few minutes later, someone else gets on the comms.
"This is Coconut-1, I see smoke in the distance. Confirming...yeah, that looks like a Boazanian spacecraft. It's in area E-2!" A Jegan pilot says.
You immediately make a 180 with the Volt Cruiser and head toward area E-2 at full speed.
When you get to area E-2, you see that the Volt Panzer has already arrived, in addition to several Jegans on Base Jabbers, VF-171s, Tierens, and Savages.
You land as close as you can to the downed Boazanian spacecraft and sprint over. When you get there, you see Daijirou and a trio of N.U.N.S. marines helping your father out of the wreck, along with what appear to be several hornless Boazanians.
"Father!" You yell as you get closer.
"Kenichi!" Father coughs as Daijirou helps him up. "You boys have grown to be fine young men, I see."
"What happened, father? Why are you with Boazanians?" You ask.
"It's complicated, and something that we have no time to discuss out in the field." Father says.
As one of the N.U.N.S. marines gives your father basic first aid, the other Volt Machines touch down. Between all of you, you're able to get everyone out of the wrecked Boazanian craft, which is starting to smoke.
"General Dange, is he okay?" Father asks.
"Which one is he?" An N.U.N.S. marine asks.
Father points to an elderly looking Boazanian man with a beard.
You lean down and check for a pulse. Finding none, you shake your head mournfully.
Father looks down at the ground in sadness.
Suddenly, one of the N.U.N.S. marines perks up, holding a hand to his ear.
"Shit, we've got Boazanian Battle Beasts dropping in. We need to go, now." The marine turns toward your father. "Is there anything in there that you need?"
"There is a case of data drives with plans for a support craft for Voltes V I left in there." Your father recalls.
The marine dives into the wrecked spacecraft without hesitation and emerges a few seconds later.
"Is this it?" He asks.
Father nods.
"Okay, we have a transport VTOL that should get here before the Battle Beasts do. Problem is, it's not big enough for all of you. Two of you will have to ride shotgun with us in a Variable Fighter. Any volunteers?" The marine asks.
Father immediately raises his hand.
"I will go with one of you." He says.
A plain looking Boazanian man stands up.
"I will as well." He says.
"Bernard!" A Boazanian woman (who you now realize is heavily pregnant) clasps his hand.
"We must trust the Earthlings dear." Bernard says as he strokes his wife's face affectionately.
"Perfect. Chopper's going to be here any second. Voltes Team, you should get back into your machines. We'll meet in the Philippines." The marine says.
"Roger that!" You say.
As father and Bernard are put into the backseats of two VF-171s, the transport VTOL arrives, the other Boazanians getting in after loading the body of General Dange aboard. After making sure that everyone is on board, one of the VF-171s levels its gunpod at the downed Boazanian spacecraft and empties the magazine into it.
After that, you all leave the area with due haste, headed toward the Phillipines.
Hopefully you'll be able to get some answers from father... Photon Power Labs
Professor Yumi looks at a video feed of a prototype Grungust being put through its paces.
First, the Super Robot fires its fist at a concrete target block downrange. After the first returns, the prototype then fires a beam from its eyes at a different concrete target. An automated Hizack then sprints across the testing range before leaping into the air. The Grungust prototype fires a massive beam from its chest at the target mobile suit, utterly destroying it.
After that, the Grungust transforms into Wing Gust mode and takes to the air, firing missiles and beams at designated targets before transforming into Gust Lander mode and unleashing a salvo of cannon and missile shells at another series of targets.
Finally, the Grungust transforms back into robot mode before drawing a Super Alloy Z blade and bringing it down on a concrete block, cutting it in half.
"That should do..." Professor Yumi says while adjusting his glasses. "Now we just have make sure the Spiral and Drill Attacks work properly..." Paris
You are Alto Saotome, and although it pains you to leave the Frontier Fleet at a time like this, you can't think of any other way to drum up support against the Vajra.
And so, you watch as Sheryl Nome and Ranka Lee perform on stage to raise awareness of the Frontier Fleet's plight.
Sheryl's on first, then Ranka will perform after, followed by a duet.
"She's pretty cute, isn't she?" Sheryl says as she joins you in the viewing booth.
"Sheryl! Don't surprise me like that!" You say in surprise. "Shouldn't you be down there preparing for the duet?"
"Eh, I've got time." Sheryl says dismissively before wrapping an arm around your shoulder.
You find that you don't have the will to protest, while Michel, Klan, and Luca observe with looks of amusement or shock. Ozma is instead focusing on Ranka's performance, a proud, if conflicted, look on his face.
After Ranka finishes performing and takes a bow, Sheryl gets up.
"Well, time for the main event." Sheryl says, kissing you on the cheek before making to leave.
"Break a leg." You encourage her.
Right before Sheryl is about to leave, everyone in Skull Squad suddenly gets the same alert on their phone.
You curse and are about to tell Sheryl to get to safety when you hear air raid sirens, followed by AA guns and Destroids firing.
On the live feed, a trio of Vajra descend on the stage, one of them grabbing Ranka and shoving it into a chamber on its abdomen.
"Shit! Everyone to their fighters!" Ozma yells.
Everyone gets up, Sheryl giving you a quick embrace before you leave. Victory: Recover Ranka Lee
Failure: The Vajra carrying Ranka escapes

Bet that guy wished that he wanted to be at the Super Robot Institutes. Or probably Anaheim making their brand of Super Robot-esque mobile suits considering Gundam technically did gone Super Robot anyway.
Psychoframes and all those reality breaking Newtype powers.
I wonder how would those mobile suits fare against a Boazanian Beast Knight. Boazanians never mass produce them and make only 1 capable of destroying an entire planet's military all by itself.
I wonder if there would be a Mythology Gag in form of the Voltes Team using these aliases when they go undercover with disguises in form of:
1. Kenichi Go - Steve Armstrong
2. Ippei Mine - Mark Gordon
3. Daijirou Go - Big Bert Armstrong
4. Hiyoshi Go - Little John Armstrong
5. Megumi Oka - Jamie Robinson
Going for this combination of units, since it gives us a nice mix of numbers (allowing us to box the Vajra in and make it harder for them to flee with Ranka) and strong units (Unicorn, ARX-8 Laevatein). That said, I'm curious to hear other people's opinion on what units we want to bring here.
Hm...I'm definitely leaning towards the Enacts over the Leos.
The Leos are...uh, not great, although they have the numbers advantage. At this point, the Leo is definitely facing replacement... probably with the Serpent.
I think it might be the weakest mobile suit currently in the Vanguard's arsenal.
The GM III is good, but I don't like the lack of units.
The Enact hits a middle line in terms of unit spread, and has it's own transformation that might make it faster than the other two. It's big issue is that it lacks beam weaponry.
Uruz Squad has experience.
Now the question is, do we want the big fighter of Dancouga Nova or Unicorn.
I was about to go on a tangent about Enacts using wireless power instead of a reactor so charging a beam weapon would be impractical, but then I remember E-packs exist, and the only reason 00 mobile suits need an onboard GN Drive for beam weaponry is because Minovsky physics was invented ten minutes ago there. In the crossover universe, you probably could just hand Enacts surplus beam rifles as long as they had a mothership to charge their clips at. That said, I'm pretty sure we're just using Enacts at this point because we have a million of them, much like the GM IIs and Leos. These are our backup/surplus options because we chose to put our logistics toward repairing Gunbuster instead of supporting current-gen mooks.
I wouldn't call the Enact to be all that better compared to a Leo (also, the Leo's reputation as fodder unit is somewhat overblown), and the Enact's speed doesn't really matter, since I doubt it can do anything to the Vajra and we need the mooks to stand around and block potential escape points, not give chase to the Vajra who took Ranka, so I really think we're better off with the Leos here.
