Prologue:
It happened while you were walking home.

It was as sudden and blind sided you as much as the crowd around you. One moment the street was quiet with the white noice of the day's usual bustle and than the next the corner of the nearest building was smashed into pieces. Screams and yells soon filled the air but none were louder than your own.

A chunk of concrete had slammed onto your left foot and forced a scream out your throat as red hot pain seared through your body. You tried to move but your foot was pinned and the pain from jostling it has caused your vision to start to blacken.

"Shit, shit, shit!" You heard some curse from the side, their voice getting closer. You couldn't quite make them out when they got close to you but you could hear them still yelling, "Command, we have a downed civilian. Looks like they got caught up the debris from Lockfist slamming into the building."

You try to hang on, to listen to what was happening, but the blackness was continually invading your mind. You could manage only a syllable before your body fully gave out and you fell unconscious to the ground.

Congratulations! You live in the world of Boku No Hero Academia/My Hero Academy and, unfortunately, you were born Quirk-less. To be a being without superpowers in a world filled with heroes has led to many painful experiences in life. But life has changed for you when you were caught up in a fight between the heroes and villains, crushing your left foot in the rubble.

Because you were harmed in an ongoing pursuit the state has called in one of their Healing Heroes to patch you up. Unknown to you or the healer he ability has fixed the mutation in your little toe, allowing you to finally unleash your potential.

[] Give As Good As You Take! You absorb energy directed at you and then use that save energy to toss orbs/bolts of converted energy. While yours power is okay with just absorbing sunlight and residue sound you can absorb parts of attacks directed at you.

Character Info
Post reserved for character sheet and other interesting things.

Name: Travis Brennan

Age: 14

History:
It seems that even before you were born that you were destined to be unlucky. The first sign of this being your pregnant 16 year old mother and a father waist deep into the city's crime scene. The second sign being your grandparents dislike of your father and all but disowning your mother for her continued relationship with him.

But likely the greatest sign of your unlucky life to come came from a nurse with the ability of X-ray vision. With what was rather routine for the hospital, and with your parents permission, the nurse scanned your body and found a second joint on your left pinky toe. An unfortunate sign of your Quirkless potential.

After that your father had been in and out you and your mother's lives. Whether it was out of disappointment for you or how he and your mother were always in an On Again Off Again relationship you did not know, but you suspected.

Growing up you lived with your paternal Grandmother with your mother, and occasionally father. Due to its location and your father's general presence certain dealings were done near and around the house until your father's arrest. You still have a number of "Uncles" who visit.

Due to your Quirk-less status you have been bullied for most of your life in one fashion or another. This has taught you a great many things, one of which is the need to defend yourself. It had taken some convincing but eventually your mother allowed you to enroll in one of the local dojo's/gyms.

Where you live: In the more rough end of Steelsworth in your former grandmother's home, where she helped your mother raise you until she died 3 years ago. Your grandmother left the house to your mother after she died.

Powers: "I've got a Bone to Pick" You can grow and shape your bones as you wishes. Unfortunately there are two downsides to this power, Pain and [redacted]. Hopefully through planning and training you can overcome these problems.

Appearance: Before getting healed you had black hair, light skin, a sharp nose with a jaw you haven't quite grown into yet but after the awakening of your Quirk "Got a Bone to Pick".

Parents:
Stacey Brennan - Age 31 - Quirk = she can harden her bones for extra durability- Stacey is your mother and while she loves you greatly she at times has problems supporting the two of them. She is currently working two jobs and doesn't get to see you as much as she would like. She receives very little help her Parents did not approve of your father nor of Stacey's pregnancy, and though they are reconnecting with their daughter things are not as smooth as they should be.

Anthony "Big-Stretch" Abate- Age 37 - Quirk = Able to grow and control his muscles- Anthony Abate is a low tier criminal who is know for his brute strength and growing his finger muscles out for tentacle/whip like weapons. Before his arrests he could barely be called a villain and was more involved in petty crime, operating more with drug sales and being an escort of both the bodyguard and sexual verity. He is currently scheduled for release some time after your 17th birthday.

Waking Up
Waking Up

The first thing you notice as you wake up is how fuzzy your mouth feels, almost as if someone had tried to force feed you cotton balls and failed. You work your jaw and click your tongue to try and get rid of the feeling but it stays with you as you drag yourself to a wakeful state.

The light stung your eyes as you worked them open and your body felt heavy as you tried to sit up, only to let out a hiss of pain as you awkwardly shifted your apparently suspended foot. Looking at the overly bandaged, in your opinion, foot you briefly wondered what had happened.

Then you mind recalls that brief flash of a fight before pain made you black out.

That had really fucking hurt!

It also explained why you were in the hospital, and the painkillers hooked up to your arm explain why your head felt so murky. Looking around the room, absently noting how plain the room looked, you found a big red button near your bed with label 'Call Nurse' on it. Wanting to figure out what was going on and when you could leave you press the button near immediately.

A handful of seconds later a woman in purple nurse clothes, scrubs if TV hasn't lied to you, came bustling into the room. She gave you a smile you were half convinced was fake, "You're awake early, that's good." She pressed some buttons on the machines near you, some of them stopped beeping so you guessed that was a good thing. "How are you feeling? Foot bugging you too much?"

"Uh, no. It's not that bad. Head's woozy though."

"Hmmm," She said almost absently, pulling out a slim flashlight and shined it in your eyes. "Your pupils are dilating, so that's good. No concision at least. You're probably just feeling the painkillers." Snapping the light off she continued to speak, "Alright, just a few more test and questions and we'll go get your mom, sound good?"

"My mom's here?"

"Yep, she's talking with some men from the City, don't know much more than that. Now I need you to..."

Ten minutes later and after answering a dozen annoying questions you finally got to see your mom. She was still wearing her uniform from the grocery store and looked more harried than usual but the look on her face when she saw was nothing less than ecstatic.

"Hey Ma." You manage to say as she wraps her arms around you, carefully so she didn't disturb your leg, for a tight hug.

"Hey Sweetie." She said, still holding that bright smile you saw earlier. "How are feeling?"

"Decent, I guess... Did they tell you how long I'm going to have to have this wrapped up?"

"Not for another hour!" She said cheerily confusing the hell out of you. Said confusion must have been plain on your face because your it looked like your Mom had to smother a giggle, "The State is paying Para-Medic to heal you as part of a settlement for being hurt in an ongoing chase of a State Sponsored Hero."

"That's... good?"

"Yes, yes it is because now you don't have to be bedridden for weeks and I don't have to take time off. They've also put a few more dollars towards college fund which always good." She gave you a look with that last statement, the usual look she gave you when she mentioned school and she thought you could be doing better.

"Explains why you're so calm at least." You mumble, more expecting your mom to be freaking out over your injury than anything else.

For a few more minutes you and your Mom talked, mostly about how you were feeling and the settlement. From the sound of things your mom threw out any ideas of suing as soon as the city's lawyers mentioned having the local big name Healer patch you up, which was good you supposed but getting a huge sum of money from the city wouldn't have been too bad either.

Eventually though your talk was interrupted by a knock on your doorway, looking up you find yourself with a welcome sight. A domino masked woman wearing a formfitting red scrubs under a lab coat that seemed to billowing as she walked in. "Hi there, I'm Pare-Medic. Are the Brennans?"

"Yes we are." Your mom said, standing up and moving to shake the Healer's hand. "It's nice to meet you."

"I'm sure." She said, smile lopsided as she gave your mom's hand a brief squeeze. "Better than having trapped in bed for a few months at least."

Seeing your Mom smile at the joke made the woman give a satisfied nod before she moves on, "Now, before I dispense with the healing there are just a few things we need to go over. The first thing I need you to understand is that my power is that it has the chance of causing slight mutation."

"Mutation?" You say, not liking the sound of that.

"Nothing major, most people just end up with slightly off colored hair or skin in the area I'm healing. There may be a change in you appetite for a while but otherwise you'll be fine."

"That doesn't sound too bad..."

"Right?" The woman said with a smile, "Now, while I'm sure your mom already signed all the necessary paperwork work I still like to ask. Do I have your permission to heal you?"

"Yeah, sure." You said easily, thinking darker skin on your foot is better than being stuck in a bed for who knows how long.

"Great," She said with a clap, "Now, first things first, we need to get these bandages off!"

And with a flourish Para-Medic brandished a pair of scissors from her lab coat. Within a minute she had cut through the white cloth concealing your foot, revealing a mess of flesh that wouldn't look out of place on a Frankenstein monster.

"Oooh, that does look nasty!" The Healer said, "Luckily for you I can fix that right up." Letting out a long and steady breath, allowing a sea green glow to trickle out from her hand.

You watched curiously as the light drifted down and seeped into his skin. As you watched the skin of your foot knit back together you felt a warm tingle work its way deeper into your foot.

"Is it supposed to tingle?" You ask, starting to feel uncomfortable as you felt your bones twist and mend themselves into place. The strangest feeling came when your toes snapped back into place.

"Just a little. It should fade in a few seconds."

But that tingling never went away, instead it just got worse. It got more intense as it started to spread away from your foot. Creeping its ways up your leg, into your spine, and filling your entire body in short order. It felt like your bones were moving, shifting beneath your skin and swelling under some unknown pressure.

"I feel, I feel weird." Your jaw felt... strange. It wasn't in pain or hard to move, it was just strange. You would almost call it Wrong. "Is it supposed to tingle everywhere?"

Para-Medic immediately stopped her Quirk, "What? No! My power doesn't work like that." The Healer whipped her head towards your Mom, "Does he have any other medical problems?"

"N-no! He was perfectly healthy before the accident!"

What ever they said next was drowned out as you felt your bones literally vibrate, creating bass like sound that nearly covered the panicked sounds escaping your throat.

Your powers have awakened!
But how have they changed you?

Pick Two:
[] You look about the same
[] Your skin has turned a purplish-brown, your hair has turned a darker shade on that purple-brow, and your eyes have turned a snowy grey.
[] Dull one inch bone spikes are sticking out of the Knee/Elbow and Hip/Shoulder, and half inch ones along the vertebra of the thoracic part of the spine and on the Wrist/Ankle

As the intense tingling, burning, feeling subsided to a simple fizzle on top of your skin you start to calm down. Your lungs taking in heaps of air as if you had just sprinted a great distance and your heart hammers just as much, but in the end you feel fine.

Better than fine actually.

You felt… lighter was probably the best word for it. Your entire body felt lighter, as if you had been wearing a hundred pound weight across your back for years and then the weight suddenly lifted. Every breath felt a little easier than before and every movement without as much strain.

But then there was that almost pulsing feeling you feel deep in your bones, literally. It worked in an offbeat concert with your heart so well you almost felt that it wasn't there. Something as negligible to notice as your breathing and yet you still realize the sensation was there.

It was a weirdly good feeling.

One that nearly disappeared when you heard your Mom yelling at Para-Medic.

"I thought you said there was only going to get a little bit of discoloration! THAT," Your Mom jammed her finger in your direction, "is not a 'slightly off colored'! What the hell did you do to my son?!"

"I don't know!" The Hero yelled back, seeming to lose more of her composure by the second. "This has literally never happened before! The worse mutation my power has ever given was a third nostril, and the gu liked that because it worked with his super smelling Quirk! Things have never been this extreme!"

You didn't fully get what was going on, or what they were arguing about, but you recognize the signs of your Mom starting up her Quirk. That rigidness she gets as her bones harden to a fantastic degree, you've seen her use it to punch through bricks when angry and lift the fridge when it needed replacing. And as you didn't want another parent in jail for attacking a hero you reach out to calm her down, only to stop when you see the color of your hand.

It was purple.

Your hand was fucking purple! And so was your other hand!

How did that happen!?

You flex your fingers, as if unsure if they were your own. The muddy purple-brown color confusing you as it looked almost natural on your skin, every inch of your skin. It was unsettling to see the previously unknown color looking so at home across every visible part of your body.

The sight and shock of it was enough for you to wonder allowed, "What the fuck?" And the sound of your voice was enough to draw the two adults attention towards you.

"Sweetie are you alright?" Your mom asked you almost immediately, her previous rigidness evaporating nearly as quickly as she moved away from Para-Medic and towards your bedside.

"I feel..." You flex your fingers again, the pulsing in your bones shifting slightly with the movement. Your bones almost felt like they were welling for a moment when you're hands balled into a fist. "Strange. Good strange... But... I'm freaking a little about being purple."

"I am too Sweetie," She said softly to you, reaching out to give your hand a gentle squeeze, before her voice shifted to a harsher tone. "But I'm sure Para-Medic here will help us figure out what happened."

"Y-yes! Of course!" The Hero said, looking flustered. "Until this matter is solved I'll be at your service."

"Okay," You say taking a breath as you try to calm yourself. You couldn't freak out, you had to stay calm and try to figure out you're suddenly purple. "Okay, what do I need to do?"

The drawn out "Um" that came out of Para-Medic's mouth did not fill you with great confidence. "There isn't much for you to do right now, I on the other hand need to start talking to the staff here. See what they have at their disposal and go from there. At the very least we're going to need to take a few blood samples from you. Maybe a few scans with what the have available…."

"Will that be justified under O-Care?" Your mother asked hesitantly, as she always did when money came up. "I know the accident would be but…."

"It should be but if not I'll cover it myself, if for no other reason than that this is my fault." the Healer said seriously. "Now, I'll try to be back within the hour, hopefully things will be set up by than. Just sit tight for a bit, okay? I'll get a nurse in here to do some basic test, alright?" After receiving nods the Healer smiled and twirled in a way that made her lab coat furl more dramatically than it should.

It was only after she left, and out of earshot, that your Mom started to check you over like a nervous hen. "Are you sure you're okay? You don't feel sick? Dizzy?"

"Besides being purple I feel fine mom." Again you couldn't help but phatom at how great, your head wasn't even light from drugs anymore. You could think clearly, unclouded. A side effect of the healing or was it something to do with your sudden change in appearance?

The second option seemed more likely since Para-Medic said her power should only heal a part of you, not your whole body.

Your mother did the little things that mothers do when their child is sick, running through home-check after home-check to ensure your health. She didn't know many but she did them to the best of her ability, stopping with the classic forehead test and started to run her fingers through your hair.

It was then she frowned.

"Something wrong Mom?"

"Your hair just feels strange is all. Stiffer than it should. Probably means you need a bath more than anything else." Her tone was meant to be joking but you could see her worry clear as day. And there was nothing you could say to it.

Bedridden and helpless was all that you were, and it pissed you off more than you'd like to admit.

It was also something that seemed to speed up that pulsing and swelling feeling in your bones, raising you ire again.

What was that feeling!? Why wouldn't it go away!?

You curled your fingers into a fist, letting them tighten into a hard ball as you tried to vent your frustration silently. But as you did this, as you forced you thrumming bones into an action, you could feel something shift beneath your skin.

Almost like something was waiting to be pushed free.

It was almost like flexing a muscle, twitching it in a way show movement and strength. And just like a muscle the thrumming in your bones swelled, pushing against your skin in a protest. You became fasinated by the feeling, feeding into the urge to push

Then pain blossomed from your knuckles.

Bright white material started to peel its way passed your skin, jutting themselves out with a speed that shocked you and embedded the material in the ceiling above. The sound of it, and maybe the motion of it too, startles your mother enough to nearly make her topple out of her chair with a yelp.

Your mouth still opened in an unreleased scream. A part of you was shocked by the lack of blood the four finger tip sized holes that appeared where your knuckles should be while another part of you was tempted to release you contained scream as you watched the holes began to close.

Within two brief seconds the holes were gone and all that remained was smooth purple skin. And with the wounds gone so did the pain leave, something that astonished you enough to wiggle your fingers in a way that would frankly be called ridiculous.

"It doesn't hurt." You mumble to yourself, still flexing your fingers as your mother stares at the ceiling.

"What the hell was that?" Looking from the ceiling to you with eyes that seemed to grow wide with something you could only call wonder, "Travis, Sweetie, did you do that?"

Still flexing your hand, feeling that thrumming sensation still ringing through your bones, you answer. "I, I think?" You push against the feeling again, feeling the knuckles in you hands to swell again but not enough to pierce your skin, Instead they just bulged and elongated, looking nearly like rivets or bolts under yous skin.

Your mother stares at your hand with you and lets out an astonished gasp as she saw your knuckles shift and elongate bone. As you tried to figure out how to return your knuckles to normal your mother engulfed you in a hug, her voice nearly squealing as she came to the same realization as you.

"Travis! A Quirk! You have a Quirk!"

You were most definitely not crying when the words left your mother's mouth. No matter what she said later on you were no crying.

An hour and a startled nurse later you found yourself laying underneath a machine who was taking unseen scans of his body. He almost felt naked under its gaze.

Before the full body scan you had explained and showed the Doctors and Para-Medic the ability you had suddenly acquired, enlarging your knuckles as you had before and even allowed for them to break the skin again. Luckily there were no projectile result that time.

It still lead to a lot of bustling with a lot of medical and science talk going on that went straight over your head. All you know is that it resulted in what you felt was too much blood drawn and a body scan that had been going on for what had to have been nearing ten or fifteen minutes.

On the note of the blood you had found out, rather painfully in fact, that your Quick didn't like needles. Or at least it didn't like needles that stayed in for too long, as you IV needle could attest when they had to near force the needle out. It was almost like some tried to rip a nail off your hand.

The bright side your purple skin has been explained away as a Monstrous Quick, like your father's, and explained the increased healing you've been noticing.

For a brief moment you wonder what your father would think of this change but such thoughts were interrupted as the ever present humming of the scan machine finally stopped.

"All right Travis, you can get up now." Para-Medics voice said from the off to the side. Sitting up from the the table you could see her peering over a doctor's shoulders with your mother, the latter of whom seemed to worrying at her lip as she tried to make out what was on the screen before her.

"So... how do I look?" You asked as you approached the group, wondering what the doctor was seeing.

"For the most part you look normal, bones look a bit denser than they should be but not all that different than your mother's if your family's file is right." The doctor's voice was gruff as he said that, almost as if he wasn't really paying attention to his words as he spoke them to you, "What really interest me is this."

The screen infront of them changed, zooming into the area where the doctor had pressed his finger, and showed an X-ray image of you boney foot. You stared at the image in interest both for cool you found X-rays to look and how strange your toes now looked, slightly and misaligned in a way that just looked abnormal.

It wasn't until the doctor spoke again that you saw and understood what was interested him. "See right here?" He said, pointing at your pinky toe. "There is only one joint here, we have it on file that Travis had two here but not there is only one."

"It can't be that simple, can it?" Para-Medic asked, "The toe joints were just an indication, a side effect! No one actually thinks that its the cause of someone's Quirkless potential!"

"Well, I would say that this," The doctor gestures to the screen in front of him, "Says otherwise. This is an unprecedented phenomenon and likely one of the greatest boons we've seen in Quirk studies in decades!"

"But what does that mean for my son," Your mother asked, uncaring about whatever breakthrough was being made. "He's fine, healthy, right?"

"According to scans and blood test you son is in fine shape ma'am." The doctor said in an almost soothing voice, "Extraordinarily healthy in fact, likely due to his physical changes with his Quirk. But, ma'am, you have to understand, what has happened to your son has never been seen or documented before. With his help you can start to understand Quirks more than we have ever before!"

"But it has been a long and, obviously, exciting day for the Brennan's. At the very least let them go home for the night, rest. Let them have the night to think it over."

Your mother worried her lip and turned to you, "What do you think Travis?"

The Gym
"I'm probably going to A&Y." You tell your mom, "I want to see if I still move the same."

Your mom just rolls her eyes at you, used to and a bit exasperated with your interest in Martial Arts. "That's fine, I'll call ahead and let them know about your change. So there are no bit surprises for them."

"Thanks mom." You say absently, you knew people were going to have reactions to your appearance but-
Choose one:
[]
You wouldn't mind the attention.
[] You looked forward to the attention.
[] You would prefer to avoid it if possible.

Not an hour later you were making your way towards the A&Y Dojo, Spring still chilly from Winter forcing you to wear a hoody as you casually jogged towards the gym. You notice that the jog is... easier. Not only does it take less time to get there but you are barely out of breath when you arrive.

You guess that went with your Monstrous-Trait and how it made you more physically able than before, you could vaguely remember classwork that saying as such. Which was good you supposed, but likely something that's going to through off your forms.

Which irritated you more than you thought it would.

But it was also something the instructors of the Dojo could help you with... hopefully.

With a quick breath to steady your breathing you enter the building, the building slightly warmer than outside. You hang your hoody on one of the coat racks by the door and make your way further in.

The building, while a bit dated, was big and quite frankly it needed to be. For twelve hours a day the building was open with a full gym and teaching multiple classes on six different Martial Arts. It had two floors with the first holding the various offices of the owners and the gym while the second had three matted floor for various lessons. You were pretty good with X style, studying it since you were seven, but since last year you've been trying out Y style and found yourself pretty good at it.

Chose you style, X for main and Y for the one you've recently stated to pick up:
[] Boxing
. Swift footed and quicker hands. Good Luck to anyone trying to hit you
[] Brazilian JiuJitsu. Chokes and locks are your weapons of choice, using applied force to take down larger opponents.
[] Capoeira. Literally dance around your opponents in an acrobatic display of kicks.
[] Eskrima. If you can do it with your hands you can do it with a knife, if you can do it with a knife you can do it a machete, ect.
[] Muay Thai. Knees, elbows, fists, legs, head, your whole body is a weapon meant to attack hard and fast for devastating effect.
[] Judo. Your opponent is wearing cloths? I hope the ground isn't too hard for when you slam them to the ground.

Still, you were aching to move your body. So you:

What do you do?
[]
Go to the Gym area and build up a sweat.
[] Head to the second floor and join whatever class starts next.
[] Go to the offices and see if any of the owners are in there.

After some thought you start to make your way towards the gym, figuring it would be better to get warmed up before you did anything else. Besides, it would give you a decent chance to see how different your body was now that you had a Quirk.

You half hope you could lift double your old benching record but you don't get your hopes up too high. Instead you simply roll your shoulders and scan your membership card to unlock the Gym's door.

The smell of disinfectant with a hint of sweat hits your nose as you open the door. It was the fragrance of a well used and maintained gym, something that you could appreciate. It helped you get into the right mental state whenever you came for a workout.

There were three other people in the gym with you, two moms walking on the treadmills while they waited for the children classes to end and a man on the Lat-Pull-Down doing more weight than you could hope to do. It was a bit early you supposed, as there were usually a lot more people in the gym.

At least that meant more machines and weights were open for you to use.

Stretching you arms lightly you make your way over to the free weights, you figured that would be the best place to go to test your strength. As usual you grab the 10 lbs dumbbell to warm up but, as you lifted the weight from its stand, you thought it felt lite. As if you had picked up the 5, or lower, pound weight instead.

Test the weight in your hand and going through some customary curls you found the 10 lbs to be completely useless to you. So you move onto the next weight, and to the next weight, and to the next weight.

You eventually felt the familiar difficulty of lifting when you reached 40 lbs.

You spent a good 10 minutes working those weights, going through your usual routine quicker than you ever remembered. And with higher reps than you have ever done consecutively. Curls, shoulder presses, kickbacks, rows, all done with astonishingly little difficulty.

You barely broke a sweat, literally.

Usually you would have a sheen of sweat glowing on you after that many exercises, but now you only had a few beads of sweat that weren't even worth the trouble of wiping off.

It was kinda awesome.

Systematically you start to go through the dumbbells until you hit the 70 lbs where you find yourself struggling to lift the weight with a single hand. That was a bit disappointing. You were hoping to have more strength, to have at least as much as your dad before he muscled up, but it looks like you just weren't up to that level.

Maybe when you were older.

Still your workout wasn't done yet. If you wanted to feel any sort of accomplishment you needed to do at least 3 more machines and use up at least 50 more minutes. So, replacing the weights, you started to may your way through the upper body machines.

It was while you were on the Pec Deck that she walked in.

Her name was Angelica Able, the daughter of one of the owners and head instructors of the gym. Her interactions had always been... awkward for one reason or another.

She walked into the room with a confident step and a towel hanging from her neck, her brown eyes flickering to the occupants of the room until they stopped at you.

As her eyes focused on you she gave you a smile and a wave, which made you:
[] Wave awkwardly back.
[] Feel Butterflies in you stomach.
[] Get a bit annoyed.

After what seemed like a second's worth of thought she began to make her way over to you, confident smile still in place.

"Hi there!" She greeted, "You must be new. My names Angela, most people call me Angie though, and I'm Instructor Abel's daughter. Did you just join?"

It seems getting purple skin has made you unrecongizable to her, despite the fact you've been coming her father's gym for years.

How do you handle this?:
[]
It's me, Travis.
[] What? Don't recognize me?
[] Yeah, I'm new.
