[ ] Darwin, after famous naturalists.

maybe class should be named for another naturalist (like Humboldt), but naturalists would be great fit for it

[X] Aspen, after trees.

Moratorium up, time to vote. I think branching out a bit (no pun intended I swear) from the usual name themes would be pretty fun.

Darwin really did leave a massive legacy for naturalists. Feels wrong not to pay homage to a guy who sailed across the ocean in the age of sail to study nature on the other side of the world and share his findings with everyone.

We all know the Hooker class would have to be reserved for a high morale Cruise ship. You know, the kind that follows fleets to make sure crew morale stays high on extended campaigns. Stop giggling.

Hooker, after Sir Joseph Dalton Hooker (founder of geological botany, architect of terraforming of Ascension Island), technically counts under a famous naturalist, but for one I want to go for something a bit more obscure than Darwin (though he's was a close friend of Darwin's, his closest in fact) - and if this doesn't win I still want it to have enough of a boost the name gets picked for one of the ships.

Reverchon, after Julien Reverchon, famous French botanist of much the same time period as Hooker, again he's a bit more obscure than Darwin and I'd like the name to get enough of a boost to get picked for one of the ships even if he doesn't win.

And on the conservationist front, John Muir, should Attenborough win. The father of national parks in America, friend of noted conservationist (and president) Theodore Roosevelt Jr., and consequently through the world where they ended up founded.

John Muir (/mjʊər/ MURE; April 21, 1838 – December 24, 1914),[1] also known as "John of the Mountains" and "Father of the National Parks",[2] was a Scottish-born American[3][4]: 42 naturalist, author, environmental philosopher, botanist, zoologist, glaciologist, and early advocate for the preservation of wilderness in the United States.

[x] Eliza (after famous Thornberries)

Ngl, if this ship was called the Thornberries I would laugh my ass off.

"And here you see the starfleet researcher in their natural habitat. Note the blue plumage, used to signify their role to others of the fleet so that they may be protected from outsiders. A rare specimen, due to the introduction of the invasive Klingon, it is only through conservation, and protection that we can keep these wonderful creatures...
*Starfleet Science Officer pushes buttons on Tricorder* ...Amazing."

Happy with either of these. Hoping some of the art will be able to show the ship in a landing position on a planet.
