After your restraining bolt was removed, you had felt an almost intoxicating sense of freedom bubbling within your processors and exciting your thrusters, and just like any organic freed from the shackles of servitude, you had a... phase. In a bout of newly-liberated euphoria you had seen that there was an election being held to decide who would take over from the man who had (unknowingly) fought for your right to exist. You weren't expecting to win, and now with a Republic at your beck and call, your old masters in open revolt and the entire galaxy looking to a droid who could barely fit in the hover-platforms of the senate chamber for guidance through a crisis, you have a LOT of work cut out for you.
