They're fighting to make this universe a place worth living in - not just as a morality tale for a neighboring universe that spends most of its time making fun of how stupid you all are! Do you know your Emperor, your EMPEROR, came to our universe a hundred years ago! She was the best of you, the highest ranked, the most skilled, the most dangerous, the most feared, and she ended up spending her ENTIRE CAREER in FUCKING REHABILITATION because she pointlessly killed three people! That's all your Emperor ever managed to accomplish in our universe! Not conquest, not glory, not victory, she didn't even manage to help us in a war we were having at the time, ALL SHE DID was getting fucking help and then spent the rest of her life as a gardener!   -[X]Explain frantically that you sabotaged the phaser crystals to explode when fired, Just In Case, but you f'cked up and there's a good chance that so many sabotaged crystals together will start a Resonance Cascade that will disintegrate the bridge and a good portion of the ship.
