Snippet 1: KC/UAD
So, first post of this thread! Expect an overall complete lack of scheduling, and debatable, though likely somewhere between that and questionable quality

I got this idea after playing Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnaught and remembered a rather cursed game I had a while ago. I was playing as Germany, and seeing I was completely outclassed, instead of doing something reasonable, I built 200 CLs. Running through every name possible. So serial numbers happened afterwards. Some photos to give scale. Note this is like half my navy.

I am thinking of maybe making another thing involving UAD, because I have made some decent designs that could, maybe kinda work IRL.

Afterwards, after that war, which I think I just barely won, I proceeded to scrap basically everything but some BBs due to budget. Then I researched Dreadnoughts in about 1896ish? But this is a story about the first battle with them. 5 of them and the Tirpitz you get at the beginning of the 1890 start. Against 80-90 some odd French ships. Please note that this is only minorly embellished, this is mostly how it went.

May 15th, 1898, English Channel

As Cliché as it was to say, it really was calm before the storm. The waves did little but lap against the armored behemoths steaming ahead... at least it would appear that way on anything beyond the eyeball.

"I still don't like this, sending us against the French fleet? This is nothing more than a glorified scrapping. No matter how much the Admiral trusts you five." Came the remark from none other than Tirpitz, with a notable bit of disdain at the last remark. No wonder as to why, the new admiral had, with a very unusual amount of zeal, pushed for the immediate construction of the new Dreadnought hulls.

"Cmon Tirpitz! This isn't a fight to the death. We've just gotta show up, shoot at them a bit to scare them off, then we'll be back!" Came from K-1523, the first K-class Dreadnought. Even moreso than her sisters, she was completely impossible to convince that Dreadnaughts weren't the end all be all of ship designs.

"If it were that easy, Britain would have seen all the cruisers and gave up within the hour. When the French see you, they'll see a bigger target, nothing more."

"You and your cruiser fleet. We can take hundreds more shells than those flimsy things. Even you, old woman."

Tirpitz stayed silent at that remark, right before K-528 meekly piped in "Don't mean to interrupt… but I see smoke southwest of here…"

"And you're sure it isn't a chimney this time?" K-1907 quipped towards 528.

"It isn't. Because we're at least 50 kilometers out into the ocean." K-579 this time.

"Nope, that's a lot of smoke stacks. how many of them are there?"

"Enough to run you out of ammo, even if you're so invincible."

"Awww, Tirpitz, don't be such a downer! We'll be fine! We have enough shells to sink the Royal Navy and give our citizens a celebratory barrage when we get back." Came from 1523,

"We'll all be French target practice, your delusions won't do a thi-" Tirpitz was rather abruptly cut off by a small shell flying over 1523's head. The German battleships brought their guns to starboard as the onslaught of French shells started coming down

"Those shells sting like a… a…" "Ouch!" "Huh… not sure what they sting like." 1907 quipped, before firing a broadside at the French fleet, destroying a light cruiser. The battle had been going on for some 10 minutes now. No German ship taking significant damage, and maybe some five French ships had been sunk. It was almost too good to be true. And if some spiteful god had heard those thoughts, "Scheiß!" a large HE shell struck one of 1449's funnels, setting fire to the deck, completely destroying said funnel, and being the only thing that so far had gotten 1449 to speak at all.

"Damn! How are you... keeping up?" Tirpitz painstakingly asked. She hadn't taken as many hits, but the hits did a notable amount of damage.

"We're just better! WHOO! Look at that flash fire!" 1523 piped up, watching one of the heavy cruisers' guns flew up in the air

"Why do they keep coming? We've already sunk so many."

"And we have the ammo for more. Hey, 1449, TB heading your way!" 1449 would respond with a few 8" shells hitting the boat's torpedoes.

"That's my '49! Keep goin- Ah! What the?!" 1907 yelped, finding a French Cruiser on the path to ram "Ha! Portside guns bitch! Go flank someone your own era!"

"Waitwaitwait!" BOOM "GOD... Fuck..." Tirpitz was hit by a large shell, it smashed through her superstructure and conning tower.

"Tirpitz's hit! Someone check on her!" 579 shouted

"I see her... she's dead in the water. We can't do anything for her right now." 1523 responded. Keeping the fact that there was some activity... omitted.

"Damn it... 528, look up. The more we focus on the French, the less will get a shot at Tirpitz."

The battle would continue for about an hour and a half longer. Every minute, Tirpitz sunk a bit further below. Every once in a while, a secondary fired. Unfortunately for Tirpitz, none of the Ks noticed it. Two more overpenetrations from the Savoie sealed Tirpitz's fate. The rest of the battle however, would be a resounding German victory. At the cost of some minor repairs, and an outdated ship that should have been scrapped anyways.

Made some edits to the original thing. A fair bit happier with this now than I was. Have some extra stuff at the end. Mainly just extra stuff from the game. If I actually do another KC/UAD thing, I'll give it a shot with Abyssals. It'll probably be easier to make them faceless goons than shipgirls.

Snippet 2: OC bestiary entry
Little something my muse wrote up about... a week ago I think. I might make more related to this setting, who knows? I sure as hell don't. No fancy AN's after the thing.

The Hydra are large, reptilian creatures, resembling dragons without wings. Despite this, they can still fly. The Hydra got their name for their 'two-headed' nature. Where, despite their obvious use of magic, they absolutely despise any form of outwards magic. Somehow, they do not emit any magical energies during any part of their lives, thus are seen the same as a horse or dog in any form of magic detectors. This goes as far as refusing to hatch from their eggs until they are in a place away from magical energies. This was tested by one Hydra handler, whose name has since been lost to time, by placing a Hydra egg in a room full of magical artifacts for 50 years straight. The Hydra didn't hatch during the entire time it was exposed to the. Once it was removed from the magic items, it hatched within a minute, visually identical to any other hatchling. It was, however, notably more hostile to magical items than the rest of the Hydra, and even its descendants are more hostile to the energies than other Hydra. Despite this, Hydra are still commonly trained due to their relative abundance compared to dragons. Many of the nonmagical noble houses are involved in Hydras in one way or another. This phenomenon, along with similar animals like the Golden Hawk, or the infamous Lizard of Duty, have recently brought into question the dominion of magic users, and whether they are truly given the right to rule. As the editor of this version of the Bestiary, I don't believe such things. Such as donkeys dislike canines, hydras dislike magic. It is a simple quirk of nature, as opposed to a divine sign.
