Wielder of Destruction
.... I made another quest... what the hell is wrong with me!?

So yeah, another Worm quest... don't know why I kept doing this to myself...

So I know this has been done to death, but it's an Altpower!Taylor.

The only explanation I can give you is that her powers are Trump: Meh that can turn into Trump: Yes.

Please bear with me, as I don't have any knowledge of Worm other than the wormfics out there. So if I made something wrong, that's because I don't know them better or I just misunderstood them...

I am also a bad writer. To those who knows me, you already see that on my other quest. I am not even trolling. I am just that bad at writing, from grammar to even my basic comprehension of English. I can't even use the excuse of saying that it's my second language, because I am just that bad!

So yeah... hope you still like this despite those issues...

Let's start the quest then...

Taylor Hebert is excited to use her powers.

Well, she just learned that she have powers. She didn't know how it happened. She just got it.

So, it all started after she was put in a locker by her bullies. Then she got to the hospital, stayed a week in there, and finally got home before going to school the next day.

So, she thought her bullies left her alone after they haven't troubled her for two days. That's a bad assumption of course, because on her third day to school, they started doing it again.

Anyway, after one of her bullies, someone named Sophia Hess, shoves her, she suddenly felt it. Like some sort of realization within her.

She felt that she can shift her state. Maybe turn herself into something else.

She is very tempted to use her powers right there but she managed to hold herself back. Even when they are still doing whatever they wanted to do to her, she held herself back until the school day ends.

She quickly came back home, and to see if she is not really hallucinating, she tried using her powers.

She learned that she can shift her physical state and turn into a shadowy mist. It's pretty slow and it seems like she can't maintain that state for a long time. She felt her consciousness slipping as she stays in that state so she quickly tries to deactivate it.

It is a useless power, and she is pretty depressed after learning about it's downsides.

That was yesterday. Today, she wanted to try using her powers once again.

She wants to see what else she can do other than shifting her physical state into a shadowy state.

She knows her powers seems pretty weak. She can only stay in that state for a few seconds. She can't even think straight when she was in her shadow state.

Still, she wanted to try it. To train that power.

And then... maybe try and become a hero. Maybe try and find a costume before going out and fighting crimes. Maybe going for small time robbers or local thugs out there?

But first, she needs to train her powers before planning for that. If she tries to go out now without practicing with her powers, she can easily imagine losing her consciousness while in her shadow state. She don't know what will happen next but she didn't want to find out.

"Now then.... time to test my powers again..."

Negative Changes

Level 2/4 (38/100)

The ability to shift your state to another dimension. Activating this power will turn you into a misty shadow in an instant. This will turn you intangible to solid objects, and most things will passed through you. You are greatly susceptible by electricity but this state will only turn your consciousness a bit hazy, but won't force you to lose consciousness. This ability will be deactivated when you lost consciousness.

It is not possible to control your form when in this state and your speed are only 1/4 of your original when in this state. Anything your wearing, including objects stored within your clothing or any accessories will also turn intangible along with you.

You can also control what part of your body will turn intangible, and any clothing or object that is in close contact of the part that you activated your powers will also turn intangible. Objects that turned intangible, when separated in your contact, will only retain it's intangibility for a second before turning tangible again.

Any electric related things will force you or your objects to immediately materialize.
Level 1

The ability to shift your state to another dimension. You need a second before you can turn yourself into a shadowy mist. In this state, you can't be harmed by any physical attacks. You are greatly susceptible by electricity and this state will force you to become drowsy until you lose consciousness. This ability will be deactivated when you lost consciousness.
Level 1/8 (3/10)

The ability to understand animals. This ability is only limited to every Canis. You can vaguely interpret their emotions through their body language, facial expression, and the noises they made.

She tried to use her powers once again.

She have to feel for it first, and let herself think about changing her state into another.

She slowly turned into a shadowy mist. This only took her a second.

After that, she tries to move around. Though, she felt too sluggish to move, her consciousness is already slipping out just by thinking about moving.

So she quickly stop using her powers before she falls unconscious.

'Ugh... it's no use. I can't even move forward because I feel so sleepy and sluggish when in that state.' She thought while trying to put her attention back to reality.

She took a sit on the chair and try to take off her sleepiness. After awhile of waiting, she is prepared to use her abilities again.

"Okay. It's not really working. How about trying to use it with just a part of my body?" She decided before trying it.

Another second of focusing, then turning into a mist. Few seconds later, she quickly stop herself from using her powers again.

'Ugh... so sleepy... what's with my powers!?' She thought in frustration, her excitement awhile ago is slowly receding.

It seems like, no matter how much she tries it, activating her shadow powers will turn her whole body into a shadowy mist. She can't control it. It's not really possible to do so.

Basically, it's too useless.

'No! There must be some other way I can use this!' She said before slowly using her powers.

First, she tried not focusing within herself and just thinking of using her powers. It took her a second of thinking about it before she turned into a mist made of shadow. She quickly stops it before she become too sleepy once again.

Next, she tried using her powers while only focusing on her hand to become a mist of shadow. It still didn't change. Her whole body is still affected. She stops the activation once again.

After that, she tries to activate it very slowly. She tries to focus too much in the feeling when she is changing her state into another.

Sadly, that also didn't change anything. She just turn into her shadowy state after a second. She quickly stops the activation of her power again before the drowsiness hits her harder.

"Uegh.... I feel sick... I think I need a water..." She told herself before sluggishly going to the refrigerator to get a drink.

Constant use of her powers seems to make her more sleepy. She feels like crap, can't even move properly because her body felt like lead. It's too hard to move because it feels like she will keel over and go unconscious to the floor.

After getting to the refrigerator and drinking one whole bottle of water in it, her lightheaded has been recovered at least for a bit.

She put the bottle to the trash can before going to a chair in the living room and sitting in it.

"... Ugh... this is so sad. My powers aren't even useful at all..." She muttered to herself in depression.

She knows the feeling of changing her state into another. She have this sense within her that she can't understand. It's a sense that makes her comprehend how her power functions while she is using it.

She have a vague understanding that she is shifting her state to become intangible. Though it seems like she is not truly intangible, just something that can't be touch by any projectiles or small objects.

She wonders what else she can do. Her power is too useless.

'Are there anything else to try? I can't think of anything right now!' She thought to herself.

Told you. It's a very nerfed version of Shadow Stalker's ability.

Essentially, she can only change her whole state after a second. Another demerit is that, she will grow sleepy as she stays in that state, can't pass through solid objects other than small ones (that mean harm to her), and she is very susceptible to electricity or anything electric related.

But that will change. The gimmick of her powers is not just being able to copy powers into their inferior versions after all. It's just the starting level for their powers.

Anyway, see you next time!~

Taylor shook her head. She didn't want to stop here right now!

She closes her eyes again and focus. After that, she imagines concentrating herself to become smaller, putting herself into a single point.

That didn't matter after all. She just turned into a humanoid shadow, which causes her to become too sleepy to continue anymore. Becoming sleepy, she can't think straight at all.

She immediately stops using her power before sitting on the couch while feeling frustrated.

She clenches her fist as she tries to think about what she should do next. She can't accept that her powers are only limited by that.

'There must be something!' She thought in frustration.

She thought of telling this to her Dad, asking for his advice about her powers before she shook her head.

'I haven't even told him!'

She knows it was stupid. Trying to make this into a secret. But recalling about her Dad's inattentiveness, his depressed look, and the way he seems to only see her as an afterthought, she didn't want to do it. Even after the hospital, he looks so lost. She don't know if he will ever see that she is being bullied.

'Right. Stop thinking about it. Let's focus on my powers!' After that thought, she decided to use her powers again.

A brief moment passes before her whole body turned into a dark mist. Her thoughts is becoming numb when she stays in this state so after a few seconds, she stops using it once again.

She sighs in exasperation. She is tired of using an ability that forces her to become sleepy. She wonders why she even have something this useless. 'Is it because I am useless?' It was a joking thought, but realizing that makes her more depressed.

As she mopes on the couch, she felt something change within her. Something on her power suddenly seems more to have changed. She wonders why she felt that?

She thought of using it again, though she didn't want to be disappointed too, making her hesitant to activate her powers again.

She stared at her hands, contemplating about her next action. She stared at it for a long time, before clenching her fist. "I must try again!" She muttered to herself.

She tried shifting a part of her body, her hand specifically.

She is surprised when instead of being forced to become a full shadowy mist, her hand is the only one that became a dark wisp. Her eyes widened once more when she didn't feel any drowsiness, only a hazy feeling on her wispy hand. It's like it was barely disconnected, like she can feel it somehow but her connection to it is vague.

She tried moving her wispy hand and felt that she can somewhat move it, but it's like trying to move your muscle when your in a lucid dream. It's like you are aware it is there, but it is barely responding and only twitches can be done.

But slowly, she can move her hand in this shadow state.

"Amazing! I don't feel sleepy anymore!" Taylor exclaimed with her eyes glinting and a large smile.

She turned her hand back into normal before looking around.

"I don't know how it happened, but I can use my powers now!" She tried glancing on other parts of her house, being a bit frantic. "I have to try what I can do with my powers more!" She exclaimed and moves around her house with her stride looks like she is hopping.

The whole day is spent just testing her powers.

So she looks for any objects she can use, and saw a ball so she tried using it.

She discovered many things with her powers.

It seems like when she turned her whole body into her shadow state, she will feel a bit disconnected to her whole body. It's like she is in a lucid dream, but she is still aware of her body. Trying to move her body felt like trying to move through mud.

But she can move her body, albeit very slowly. Along with her shadow state, everything (except the floor she is standing on) will also turn intangible along with her.

She is also aware about the objects that she is carrying, like the ball awhile ago, and she can throw it even when in her shadow state. It is pretty hard because moving in her shadow state is a burden, but in a way that doesn't make sense, she can produce enough force to throw her intangible objects out of her touch and let it be separated from her.

She learned that when she is intangible, she can passed through things. Though, it seems like electrical things is her weakness, having experience being shocked to her nerves when she accidentally passes her hand through a wall and touch an electrical line.

This intangibility also extends to the objects that she is carrying. When she throws the intangible ball to the wall, it passes through. Though, she tried doing that to one of her electrical wires and found out that electrical things will forcefully materialized the objects that she turned intangible.

It seems like objects separated from her intangible state can only maintain it's intangibility for a second before it returned to normal.

She has been optimistic since learning about the change in her ability, so she tries using it and controlling it's form. Though it seems like she still can't control the shape or form of her shadow state. The only control she have is being able to limit her shadow state to certain parts of her body.

She didn't know what else to test so she decided to stop doing it for now and rest. 'Dad's coming soon anyway.' She thought.

It is early morning when Taylor sluggishly stood up on her bed and stretches her body. After that, she took a moment to take in her scenery before going to the bath to clean herself.

Despite her excitement yesterday, today, she is not really looking forward going to school. 'It's Friday, so I should just endure for a bit more!' She thought.

After she is done changing herself, she slowly steps downstairs.

There, she can see her Dad eating some cereal. It looks like it's just heated and milk was put in it. Basically, the most fastest food to make.

Taylor go and take a bowl for herself before taking a seat and eating. They didn't speak at each other that much, only taking care of their business.

"I'll be going now." Her Dad said as he took his bowl and then walks to the sink. After that, he walks to the door with, almost like a lifeless gait.

"Yeah... see you later..." Taylor replied noncommittally.

She waited for her Dad to leave before she took her time taking care of her breakfast. After that, she also took it to the sink and cleaned the dishes before finally going back to her room to take her bag.

"Ah... another day..." Taylor looks to the sky with an unamused look.

She knows this is not really helping her. But she don't want to let her Dad know. She won't admit it, but she didn't trust her Dad that much after learning about the results of the investigation about her Locker.

Her Dad can't even support her. After learning that the case met a dead end, he just stood there and nodded at the officers like it was an afterthought. He looks like he is just forcing himself to care for her.

He is awkward, and seems to be lost. He looks like he is just going with the flow. He even took the money (bribe) that the school gave them so they won't pursue the case.

She can at least understand that. They don't have any money to bear the cost of her being put into the hospital. Also, trying to pursue the case that the police already gave up on will cost a lot of money. It just can't be done.

But, she wanted to see her Dad trying to look for any solution. Likely some sort of support.

Though, seeing him not even thinking of something and just immediately giving up made her so disappointed.

She knows it's wrong. She is also being stubborn, not even telling them about the one responsible for her bullying.

It is already ingrained in her mind.

Who would help? Will they even listen to me? I am just alone, and those bitches have anyone supporting them! How can anyone even trust me?

It's those thoughts that causes her to keep bottling things to herself. She didn't like authority figures anymore. She also doesn:t trust her Dad anymore.

'I can do this to myself.' She thought to herself in determination.

XXXXX

Getting to school is like trying to pick something wedge in her teeth. It's hard for her.

She felt that she didn't even need to go to school, but is just being forced because it is what's expected of her.

"Let's get this over with." She said with a sigh before taking a step inside the halls of this school.

She walks to the halls of the school, not even trying to take a detour. She wanted to go straight to her class without having as much encounter to those girls as possible.

She even passes her locker, her steps becoming more hasty when she got to that point.

Since coming back to school, she has been putting all her belongings to her bag. Anytime she goes to school, she always go straight to her class unlike the others.

As she turned a corner, she almost stumbled as something trips her foot.

She almost instinctively turned into a shadow, but manage to held herself back before using her hands to stop herself from falling to the floor.

She heard the laughter of the girls, the usual ones who is always hanging out with those Trio.

Taylor tries to stand up and ignore the girls laughing at her. As she manages to stand up, she tries to leave but she has been blocked by someone.

It is a familiar redhead with the usual smirk on her face. Her eyes glinting maliciously as she stared at her.

"Oh, it's Taylor. What a surprised, didn't thought I'd stumble upon you..." She is looking at her with a pitying act that even someone can tell is fake.

Taylor didn't want this to go on so she tries to passed by her to the side. But the other girls are there and are blocking her.

"Oh! What's the hurry? You can't just leave your old friend here!" The redhead said in an honestly irritating tone for Taylor. "Come on, talk to us. I am sure there are many things we can talk about!" She took an exaggerated thinking gesture before pumping her fist with her palm. "Oh right, you can't! You don't have anything interesting!"

The other girls laughs at her way as she finishes with that in a smirk.

Taylor just stared at her and is trying to endure it. She didn't want to show that she is being affected. 'They'll get tired. I just need to wait for it!' She thought.

"Hey Mads. Why don't you say something about our dear Taylor?"

"I don't know. She looks so ugly I can't even think what to say anymore."

Another laugh, which only grates her nerves. But she endures. She didn't want to give them the satisfaction.

She tries to move forward again but the girls blocks her. Going around, there are many girls trying to block her. She is surrounded on all her directions and no one is even trying to help her.

There is one teacher, it was their World Issues teacher, who just passed by them as he greeted the girls. He didn't even glance at her, and she can see how he is trying to avert his gaze anytime it turned to her.

The girls just ignored the teacher as they smiled maliciously at her. She can't help but feel overwhelmed at this many eyes staring at her like she's a toy.

"Come on, Taylor. Talk to us. Say something." The redhead, Emma, urges her. She is smirking at her, her arms crossed while trying to look down at her despite her height.

"... Leave me alone..." Taylor can't help but mutter that.

The girls laughs at her again. She didn't know what's funny about that, but she thinks they are just laughing because the others did so.

"What's wrong? Are we making you uncomfortable?" Emma asked in fake worry.

Taylor stops talking. She just stared at the ground.

Before they could say anything else, she heard the bell ringing which causes her heave a sigh of relief.

The other girls seems to be a bit panic as they took a bit of a step back, which gave her enough space to step forward.

"Ah!?"

Then she felt someone pushed her back, causing her stumbling and managing to pick her balance at the last minute, just before she lost her footing.

The girls laughs at her way again as one of her main bullies, someone named Sophia, glares at her dangerously.

"Wimp!" She simply snorted before turning her back.

The others also followed her as they scattered, going to their rooms while snatching smirks or small insults on her way.

"See you next time!" She heard Emma and felt some sort of dread as she says that.

'Dammit! What am I even doing!' Taylor thought as she gnashes her teeth. 'I have powers now! I am better than them!'

She hates this. She didn't want to be here anymore.

So here, Taylor didn't trust her father, or any authority figures on that matter.

So even if you put something like (Reconcile with you father) on Write-Ins, Taylor will make excuses to ignore those commands.

She will only do it if it's appropriate to the narrative (like her being willing to do so).

'Right. Fuck this!'

Taylor decided to skip school for today. 'I still have to test my powers. Dad won't get back home until evening. I can do plenty of testing with my powers!' She decided as she quickly walks out of the school.

She didn't know where to go next. She could have gone home but she felt it would be too counterproductive when she is already outside. 'But I don't really know where to go...' With a thought like that, she is walking on the streets instead of commuting.

She wanted to be left on her own thoughts. Her mind is still thinking about the applications of her powers, and how she can use it effectively.

'The ability to turn into a shadow.... I honestly can't help but feel like it is familiar...' Her thought wanders to the local Capes. 'If we're talking about a Cape who can do that, then...'

So absorbed in her thoughts, she didn't notice the buff girl taking a turn as took the corner, and they bump into each other.

"Hey! Watch it!" The buff girl growled angrily, a glare directed in her way.

Along with her yell are the growls of her dogs, which seems to be with her.

'Ah?' But Taylor's mind is not pointed at the accidental bumping, or even the angry girl. Her mind is currently within her. 'A new power!?'

Seeing her unresponsive, the girl's glare intensifies before she turned her head with a snort. "Let's go." She growled out, and passes through her with heavy steps. The dogs following behind her.

Her mind is still occupied at the new feeling within her. She felt a new power within her. It is...

She felt it. A new power within her. She didn't know what this power can do. She only have a vague idea how it works.

She turn to the receding back of the one she bumped. She stares at her for a bit, and glances at the dogs. Then she felt something. Like she somewhat understand the dogs.

It's not really something where she can hear what they are talking about or what they're thinking. She only felt that she somehow understood what they are feeling.

'Happy. Curious. Attentive.' Those are her vague interpretations.

She stared at them until their figures are gone before she continues onto her house.

Evening has come and Taylor is just wrapping her test for her shadow shifting powers when she heard the sound of a truck parking on their house.

She took a seat on the couch before she heard the sound of the door being open. She turns her head and see her Dad arriving on the living room. Her Dad seems to be looking at someone, and when his gaze pointed at her, he stared with his lips thinning.

"Taylor. I heard you left school without saying anything."

She already prepared for that. "I suddenly got dizzy so I decided to leave."

"But the principal didn't say anything about that!"

"Right. I forgot to tell her."

He stared at her in scrutiny before he sighs. "Okay, I'll tell her." He walks to their landline.

Taylor pursed her lips. 'Right... he easily believed it...' Her eyebrows scrunched with an unpleasant feeling.

Her Dad has been like that, easily believing his daughter without looking into it that much. It is convenient for her, but she also felt a bit offended seeing her Dad not really caring as much.

She knows he cares, but he is not doing it enough.

She is snapped out of her thoughts when her Dad's footsteps gets closed. "Do you want something to eat?" He inquired with a tone that seems tired.

"Ah. Don't worry. I already made something."

Her Dad stared at her for awhile before he slowly nodded.

They got to the table to eat the simple meal that she prepared. They are mostly silent while they are eating.

Feeling a bit overwhelmed by the silence, Taylor hurried on her food before she stood up and put her dishes to the sink. She cleans it up before going upstairs.

All without the two of them conversing.

The night already covers the street. The only light within her room being the moonlight. She stares at the ceiling while deep in her thoughts.

'School. I have to go there again.' She can't help but feel dissatisfied with that. 'Do I even have to keep doing this? I have powers now! I think I should be doing something else!'

Her eyes turned to her side, thinking it more carefully.

She didn't have any costume, and she didn't even feel any confidence with her powers. But going to school felt like a waste of her time. She is not even learning everything there.

'Those bitches....!' She gritted her teeth. Recalling those three makes her more reluctant to go to school.

She slept while being absorbed on her thoughts.
