Hey, my first thread that isn't a fanfic! :p

All joking aside, I've been playing around/self-teaching myself in Blender for a couple years now. Took a hiatus and am a bit rusty as a result, but I'd like to think I'm not half-bad at least. Though I'm somewhat limited in what I'm good at right now, mostly ships- space or otherwise. Couldn't do a humanoid figure to save my life.

Thaaattt being said, let's post what I'm working on right now:

^That is a WiP of a modernized- as in 1930s modernized -late model dreadnought. Hence the wing-turrets. Not quite satisfied with the bridge and I'm rather horrible at the detail work, but I like where it's going at least.

Next:

That's a destroyer that I'm working on for my novel project. The hero ship of the story even. The turreted weapons are something I'm mostly just playing around with right now, but the overall shape and the- again, detail's are the bane of my modeling existence -pods are the way they need to be.

Bonus:

One of my older models, but I'm still rather proud of that lightsaber.

No idea how often this thread'll be updated, since I tend to focus more on writing. But figured I could at least post my other hobby.

The ship, maybe add a smaller rectangle, or a triangle at the tip? It looks a little awkward cutting off abruptly.

As for details, don't worry. You'll get there eventually.

Digging through my files, and totally forgot I had this old thing:

First, and as of yet only, physical sword I've made.

ARISE LONG SINCE DEAD THREAD. RETURN TO LIFE AND THE WORLD.

*cough*

Righto. Now that I finally got around to actually updating Blender (...sue me, I just copied files when I switched computers and didn't bother checking to see if they'd updated it since then >.>) I'm playing around with the new features. Mostly the new ways to edit materials and shaders and such like. It allows me to really improve on models from the previous version that aren't quite up to par anymore. Such as:

(the engine glow is my favorite part, so far)

The above being a modernized (ie, Clone Wars-era) Centurion-class battlecruiser from the second Knights of the Old Republic game. That's why I opted for the rougher material for the hull. A four-thousand year old ship should look suitably worn down.

...still need to name this particular ship, though.

As I play around with the new features more, I'll post more in here. If I don't forget the thread exists again :V

(I'm entirely self-taught, mind, so I wouldn't expect something on the level of someone like Fractalsponge. I know my limitations, and time is a major one)
