Session #1: birth of an immortal
(First off an apology, i screwed up so no screenshots which is sad because this is the prettiest MMO I've played. I'll try to do better for you guys.)
we open up with our hero, Argentum Sol, on an airship with a bunch of grunts being smart asses at me which pissed off their CO. what i picked up from that though is that seeing an "Immortal" is pretty damn rare even for the military and the Officer looked about ready to jump off the edge of the ship if I ordered it. seems to be a likable guy so i didn't.
He directed me to a woman on the docking platform with a crown. This is the frist goddess i meet, she's in charge of overseeing all the new immortals as they learn their powers and duties. She asked my story and Flashback time (I think my character PTSD from what happened).
before becoming an immortal i was a common solider and in my latest mission was dispatched to conduct a rescue for a small farming community. upon arrival I was ordered to spear head the charge into the town to find the survivors. when we got there we found the place overrun with monsters carrying combat sickles wreaking everything. we took offense and slaughtered them all.
we pushed on through the town and came to a barn with the survivors hidden inside and the boss of the monsters pacing outside waiting for the minions to break in. I decide to show him my displeasure and charge in to start hacking away at him with my sword along with a few other guys. we kill him and let the civlians out, some of them seemed to be crying in relief when they relized we were here to help (one even hugged one of the other soldiers). distressingly there were only four and i suspect the village could support at least a 100 people, likly a lot more since it had a train station.
Then things went to hell. the gates leading to the farm yard burst open with at least 40 monsters lead by a psychopath a fancy scythe. he ordered them and dispite us putting up a fight to make Leonidas proud (I killed two of them with my bare hands at the end) we were overwhelmed and our bodies hauled off for god knows what.
*unknown period of time later*
Good new, i found roughly 20 more villagers. Bad news, i found them by waking up on top of a pile of their corpses. the monsters had dumped me on the pile in some ruins.
I fought my way through the ruins till i came to a big room filled with monsters and the psycho. when he send the horde at me i got a new trick for crowd control which let me butcher most of the crowd in a single swing. then i took on the psycho and beat him like a pinata. every time he loaded up for a swing i dashed back then back in to start beating him again.
*end flash back*
The goddess was very sorry about what happened to me. turns out that when we got overwhelmed in the farmyard i died and the fact i can come back to life marks me as immortal. she passed me off to another god who stuck me in VR training to handle the basics.
Once i finished that i went to the mission room and went on two missions. frist was to an island overrun with the monsters who attacked that town, second was a factory overrun with rogue robots. First one wasn't important so i'll skip that but the second is.
the engineer i talk to reported that in the middle of the night their systems started ordering the machines to build combat mechnoids which started killing everyone, hence why i was sent in. I fought my way through the factory to the control room and... another psychpath talking with someone who ordered him to stay and die when the factory self destructs. psycho 2 obeyed and I had to kill him and save the factory.
-end session-
thoughts so far.
- the starter outfit looks like a legionnaire's armor with a hoplite's helmet and a Sci fi make over. this is what gave me the name to use for my guy.
- seriously pretty. the captial looks somewhat like Corosant but cleaner and i can see some roman touches to it.
- the combat system is mix of hack and slash with normal MMO game-play. i'm having to unlearn some habits to maximize my damage output.
- Immortals apperntly have a symbiotic relationship with mortals. we provide protection and in exchange they supply faith which makes us stronger. prayers are used as 911 calls for situations that need us.
I know nothing about this game aside from the fact that you become a god. Go for whatever tank class they have
Paladin and i picked it before i saw your post since it's the only starter melee class.
