Is it possible for commonwealth nobles to own land outside the commonwealth?
Lots of nobles held land outside their native kingdom. But with the laws of the commonwealth can't ever be sure.

-[X] No. Need to study (or party).

Edit: @Sertorius, your plan doesn't pick an option for the fourth choice.
Fixed, thanks.

It all depends on the law of the kingdom in question. Each country had its own laws regarding ownership of land.

For instance, in France only a subject of the King (citizenship) through naturalisation could own land. Of course, the King being the King could grant land to whomever he pleases, irregardless of law. Not only that, foreigners were forbidden to inherit anything while on French soil. Everything they possessed would be forfeited to the Crown upon death, even if their lawful heirs were standing right next to them. Thus, formal naturalisation was even preferred. The only exception to this rule were the Scots. In 1558 both kingdoms issued cross-naturalisation acts, granting to Frenchmen in Scotland and to Scotsmen in France all the benefits of citizenship, as well as some trading rights (like the right of Scottish merchants to the first pick of wine in Bordeaux). It was the culmination of the Auld Alliance, unfortunately Scotland not long after embraced the Protestant cause and made a deal with England, thus ending the centuries-old fellowship. But Scottish right to French citizenship was repealed only in 1907.

Well looks like we are growing up real fast. I don't believe the events in France would have cemented our MCa faith is Catholicism, but he was always skeptical of calvanism.
Fun fact: by 1574 all sons of "Czarny" have converted back to Catholicism, making the Birże and Dubinki line the Protestant part of the family, while the Ołyka and Nieśwież line were aherents and propagators of the old faith. Given what will happen in France, becoming Catholic is a sound life choice.

[X] Plan Knight in Shining Armor

Well, if we are doing a martial character we might as well not finish our studies (and I was hoping for a polyglot:().

I guess we'll learn the universally understood language of violence instead.:)
