[X] Stay and work with him. Despite his intense methods, you did ask for this. Besides, if it were anyone else other than him, you might have killed them. He's not the nicest man, but he is trying to help.

Edit: I was expecting someone like satama who was perpetually bored not well an asshole. But well we have to get used to dealing with assholes in our line of work.
That was outside of his canon portrayal, and we've had confirmation that Contessa probably briefed him on how to get the best response out to training out of us. He's probably giggling like a school girl on the inside at the prospect of someone who might be able to give him a good fight.

She can loop around the earth in four minutes, just in time for round two!

Consider for a moment that we nearly snapped David's neck.

She's tough but high gravity to the neck might have killed her and we don't learn much about our powers in return for the danger as she should never even get close to us nor pressure us.

Well he was smiling a lot at the end there...

She is literally unbreakable. It took the Siberian herself going full out to cause permanent damage. I also trust ourselves not to kill our love interest, I don't think Contessa would allow that either

My point is we really don't learn much from her at this point as our fights would be

  1. Grab her
  2. Press down
  3. Pin
Edit With gravity get your heads out of the gutter you perverts.

As for learning h2h if we are punching a guy we've fucked up something horrible.

We did utilise gravity based shielding in our latest fight, maybe going up against the most physical of the Founders will help develop that as it seemed to respond to physical attacks more

Second day and we are still walking round with only the most bare bones idea of the situation.

Cauldron are extremely unprofessional, no detailed briefing or written summary of the entire situation.
In most companies concern would be raised one gave such a bad introduction to a a intern or summer worker.
It might not be good for a story but someone really should have sat down with us and explained things a hour or so.

[X] Go work with someone else. You don't give a damn if he was trying to open your eyes, he hurt you, without remorse. You can thank him for the lesson of how much you need to learn, but you can learn the rest from someone else.

Theres a reason people complained about Contessa, her power can justify nearly anything.
Most of it is based on the file that Manton was given. Alex's entire life is on about two hundred pages of extensive documents. After showing that he could control gravity, Manton read through the whole thing and created his own psychiatric report based on all of the information he had instead of the summary that he did when he first met him.

He told Contessa, and she in turn told David.
Due to the tiny numbers of people at what is actually a high level relevant to their plans Contessa can micromanage virtually all interactions.

-[x]While David is your main teacher, there is no reason to not spar with rest of Caludrons Agents (those with powers). But you have seen what kind of damage your power is capable to doing. Not anyone is that durable
as David and Rebecca. You must learn how to be precise control and learn how to do non-lethal takedown.

What you guys think about it?

He has spent the last four months thinking that he's a god in human form. He's a bit on the arrogant side.

A good chunk of it is that, but don't get too excited. David's family tree is a cactus, everyone on it is a prick.

She's tough but high gravity to the neck might have killed her and we don't learn much about our powers in return for the danger as she should never even get close to us nor pressure us.

Forget high gravity. Just use specialized gravity tunnels to force the air out of her lungs and keep it there. She sufficates on nothing.

She is literally unbreakable. It took the Siberian herself going full out to cause permanent damage. I also trust ourselves not to kill our love interest, I don't think Contessa would allow that either

No, Contessa would not like it if you killed a big gun. Plus, she's needed for the Hero Initiative.

Hell, Rebecca's the one writing it.

  1. Grab her

Uh....

Moving a little fast guys.

At least take her out to dinner first. :V

Rebecca was going to when you met her the first day, but she was willing to give you some space so you can work things out. Contessa decided that letting you sit around and do nothing wasn't good for the plan, so she stepped in to speed things up.

Rebecca wanted you to take things slow like she did, but Contessa was like "We have a guy whose controls gravity. We need him to train. Live by the mid-max, die by the mid-max."

Hey, so I've got a question. How does Path to Victory interact with our decisions? If Contessa interacts with us and we make a decision, what does she see? Does the path suddenly change (indicating our decisions are simply affecting our character) or does it stay consistent (indicating our decisions are warping the world itself)?

The second would be kind of scary, since no matter what decision we make, it is always on Contessa's Path.

edit: an example, if you will. We chose to train with Eidolon, and someone (presumably Contessa) told him to be a total asshole to us to inspire us.

But what if we had chosen Matthew or Rebecca? Which of these would have occurred?

A) Contessa is very surprised when she hears that she told Eidolon to antagonize us during training... only for us to have picked someone else

B) No matter who we picked, Contessa retroactively gave them and only them instructions on how to interact with us

C) Contessa just handed out a list of things for everyone to do at the last meeting.

Or you know something unexpected happened beyond like bad luck or a power that would probably make H2H useful at the situation.

And what situation is punching more effective then hitting someone really hard with a rock going 300 miles and what situation is punching more effective then hitting someone really hard with a rock going 300 MPH? Or a burst of gravity to make room or a sudden leap into the Air.

if there is a cape capable of completely shutting down our Abilities that means they just need to bring in another Cape and we instantly lose. Or hell just bring a gun. If I were a power neutralizing cape I'd have a gun on me.

If we get into the situation where punching is our only option we are fucked even if we are trained in martial arts

The answer to this problem is a gun.

A concealed gun.

A concealed tinkertech gun.

And if a concealed tinkertech gun is not enough, you need more gun.

I bet nobody would expect someone with a godlike power to actually BE PREPARED for a situation in which their power is unavailable. Certainly not 'prepared' in the form of a tinkertech gun.

And wouldn't you know? We're most likely going to meet Hero soon. Whose power is Wavelength Manipulation Tinkerbullshit. The Tinkerbullshit version of the Golden Beam of Fuck Off.

There's only so many hints you should need~

We feel sick at the very thought of killing someone and we couldn't handle hurting Eidolon at first either, despite him being a dick.

What makes you think that Alex would be willing to use a brutal weapon like that? It's completely and utterly out of character
