Your world was shaken as the only comfort you'd ever known was torn away from you. You were flooded with sensations, sight, smell, sound. It overwhelmed you forcing a shrill cry from your feeble form. There were three others in the space around you, three giants compared to you. They shushed you, laughing among themselves, two of them held hands as they said a word directed at you.
What did they name you?

The third man in the room held a semi clear object filled with some liquid and a knife in his other hand. He waited until they'd calmed down and until you'd fallen silent. He unsheathed the knife and laid it against your arm. As he parted your skin, more cries began to escape your mouth.
With a steady hand he dropped a single drop of liquid from the container onto the cut. You could feel the substance enter you and become diluted in your bloodstream. It burned attacking your fragile immune system. Your tiny form shaking as it exploded within you.
The man then poured a second liquid onto the open wound. It entered you similar to how the first had and you could feel it fighting the burning sensation. It was an icy cold that made you shake even harder than before. They fought within you, you could no longer cry just gasp for anything that wasn't pain.
Darkness took you as even consciousness tried to flee...

They looked upon their child, unconscious now although still fighting. They'd seen the ritual done before and it frightened them to no end. But it was necessary, to ready their child for the legacy that they'd burdened them with.
When they grew older they'd face demon and beast alike a thousand times over. It wasn't a peaceful life, it wasn't a long life. But it was their legacy and the legacy of thousands around the world.
They were an expansive organization, that had worked itself into the fabric of every nation on earth. In the past they'd worked in the open, protecting the passages to the other world and stopping there denizens from entering ours. But with the use of modern technology, combined with old techniques. With that they're able to keep the vast majority of the world in the dark.
They're a complicated organization with its own forms of government and way of life. That spans more then just our world but also the other one. The organization itself which usually refers to themselves as the Sentinels and has allies within the other world as well.
Within the Sentinels the majority of the people within join after coming into contact with beings from the other world, but there where a fraction that were born into it.
What were the couple's positions within the Sentinels?
(Pick one for the mother and one for the father, you can have multiple of the same title except overseer.)

Sorry for the very vague intro, I really want to just info dump. But i'm really trying to hold myself back from doing that, it'll probably hurt the quest at the start. But I want to show not tell with this quest.
Little Note
This is my most thoroughly built world, it's a world that I was and still am planning on writing a novel and a good amount of short stories in. I've spent a lot of time fleshing out this world, and I promise you it's not nearly as cliche as it looks on the surface.
The first few parts will be character building, as we grow with our OC. Then the real story will unfold, this is one of my oldest worlds and one that I've gone through multiple iterations of until I finally felt like it was what I wanted.
This world and the story itself was originally designed to make fun of a lot of the cliche urban fantasy worlds out there. This isn't some story of an OP hero that hunts down and slays monsters without breaking a sweat. There real people and the monsters are just as clever as the people hunting them.

No clue, discovered it years ago and it stuck with me. I'm not sure what language even if its real or not. But, Fafnir is the name of a dwarven prince that was turned into a dragon.

Just gonna post the next part since I doubt this votes go anywhere else.
Mom would take you around with her while your dad was gone, you'd go around the tunnels and meet people. Even watch mom hit stuff which always made you laugh. She'd even take you to see father sometimes when he was away during the day. You'd watch him playing these big animals, one that you remembered had a big kitty head with wings on its back. Mom would always keep you away from them, even though you were curious and wanted to play with it.
Sometimes she'd even take you upstairs which was full of people, you'd look around at all the tall blocks. The ceiling was blue there and there was only one light in the sky that was really bright. You had vague memories of a year ago when Mom and Dad took you to an upstairs which was covered in green everywhere.
You apparently looked a lot like your parents. People would point out how similar your facial features where to your mothers, along with how you shared her hair colour.
What was your Hair Colour?

Which made you incredibly happy always being around them and never really being alone. But you didn't understand why your father had to start leaving for prolonged periods after you'd celebrated your first birthday. He'd been around always before. It didn't make sense that he was away for so long each day now. Your first word was "Dada", which your father was incredibly pleased and a bit smug about. In the next few months afterwards you'd learn't a few more words, like "More" and "No".Age 0-2ish

One thing which I think a lot of you guys may have assumed the opposite of. a dragonhawk is the size of a hawk, not a dragon I should have made a note of it in the post earlyier. I Don't follow WoW and the creature is suppose to be more like a European relative of a fenghuang [if you crossed one with a lizard] I can see how the names confusing sorry.
The others just a note about hunter training schedules, hunter training schedules are split up into 4 sections, Active duty, Active Reserve, Training and Off time. A normal schedule for an active hunter would be,
3 months Active duty, 4 months off, 1 month training, 3 months Active reserve, 1 month training -repeat-
