Someone on twitter had pointed out to me that the musical stinger they used in this is pretty dang close to the one used in the original Kuon trailer, which is what brought that one to mind. That would be a nice surprise if true.

Although, Shadows Die Twice is a quote from Tenchu. And I hope it is, because I do want to see the return of Ayame and Rikimaru.

I'm willing to bet a large sum of money on it being Tenchu, but man, Kuon would be a real twist reveal.
 
So, there was a leak, from a couple of credible sources on RESETERA, indicating it is likely Kuon 2, or something in that vein.
"Shadows Die Twice is a spiritual sequel to Kuon. This game will be open world with strong horror elements. It will take place in Ancient Japan. Despite Bloodborne 2 speculated to be this game, we have two insiders saying it's not.
I know a lot of people want it to be Bloodborne, but there's a lot of readily available information out there to show it's not, from the words of Miyazaki himself to a confirmed insider here on ResetEra directly saying it isn't. I know people want to believe, but when you're plugging your ears and not listening to the creator of the series and a confirmed insider, you're just dreaming then.
I know Kuon will seem like a stretch to some people, and that's fine. But I will say it's… I'll choose the words 'very probably,' though I want to say more, that it's a new entry to Kuon how Demon Soul's was a new entry to King's Field essentially."

I really shouldn't probably say anything, and I can't really prove I know anything, but I had two different discussions with two different people at two very different perods of time who both essentially told me the same thing; it's an open world game with very strong horror elements set in ancient Japan that's essentially a reimagining of Kuon.

Aw, that's a shame. I really was hoping for a new Tenchu game.

Oh well, this could be good too. Especially considering we're unlikely to see a new Project Zero/Fatal Frame game any time soon.
 
I imagine many people on the internet will be wondering why From is making a survival horror game, as they probably will have never even heard of Kuon.

Eh, we can post Bloodborne videos, so it should be alright.

If anyone has a problem with it I'll remove the video.
