Seis Manos: Mexican Grindhouse Horror Kung Fu Anime by the Castlevania creators

Location
Cardassia Prime

Was browsing Netflix and suddenly saw this that to my big suprise seems to have gained little attention on the Internet, considering this is the first original production by Powerhouse who did the Castlevania anime. It leans heavily on the grindhouse feel being set in the 70's, with random mixing of genres including blaxploitation in the form of the Mike Colter-voiced DEA Agent who's basically Black Dynamite. The animation itself has that damaged filmreel style from the Rodriquez and Tarantino double-feature though adding the rare digital glitch to feel updated.

The story is about three young Mexicans with tragedic pasts being trained in martial arts by a wise old sifu until they get involved with a cartel led by a Bane-like Danny Trejo dabbling in witchcraft and things escalate from there, OH BOY do they escalate.

More people need to watch this and talk about it. It is sooo badass and way deeper than it looks, not to mention delivering a combination of influences you don't see very often in any medium.

This shit is awesome, has a a second second season been confirmed?

Kind of stumbled onto this while bored, if you enjoy violent anime-style king-fu action with a fun mix of some Mexican-folklore magic, this is the program for you.

Also, didn't expected the sidekick kid event. Like, came out of the blue.

Watched it last week, suprisingly good with a interesting cliff-hanger:

If Lo is going to try to "brainwash" Silencio I can't find that convincing, I mean Silencio has a very sympathetic reason to flat out murder Lo

Yeah, good luck trying to do that to a guy with that level of power.
