I mean the plan was mostly to contact them AFTER we took back our empirre and by association zavok territory.

That gives us a pretty big bargain chip.

Uncontested access to most of Green Hill without having to worry about a bunch of deadly robots shooting you is something that any logistic would salivate at.

Especially if said deadly robots are helping you to combat the enemy at hand.

That means that Black Doom would have to worry about 1 king and 2 prince tiers trying to bring him down almost every turn.

At least in Green Hills he could have other territories elsewhere in the world.

I mean what else do we use our heart actions on?

Captain Metal is out of the question at the moment as activating anything archie related may bring the main bastard itself back with a contingency plan to get himself free of the body fusion.

Without counting that the QM's have warrned us that not everything from shattered memories will be a boost as some nasty stuff can also be added.

Which no doubt would come from either the more comical versions of the doctor in the case of stuff like Adventures of or Boom apart from the most deranged versions, those being Archie and Fleetway.

The rolls to reach out to both Restoration and Gun are also on the over 100 rolls, even a reroll will make it difficult.

Minion recruits so far are the only really safe rolls to take due to mostly being recruiting.

I don't think you understand the point I am trying to make.

If you look at cold numbers than this quest is going to surprise you and pull the rug at you. Of course Eggman lose control of the world the plot demands he do so just as the plot demanded he been successful as well, because a villain always lose in the end but they must prove themselves to be a legitimate threat for the heroes.

This quest is not going to end right now after all is not going to engaging history if doctor Eggman loses just in the moment he return to his old self. Listen the QMs are not working this hard just to make us vote stuck handling our minions Drive and trow disasters at our way if we can't handle them.

Do you two read even the rewards for the action to approach them?

@DarkKing98 if you keep thinking this way then I am sorry to say this quest is not going to be enjoyable for you. Because even if you play safe the narration will trow something at you because is not a compelling story if you do nothing but turtle and hope for the best.
We won't lose instantly(unless the dice fucking despise us), but we won't be getting any closer to gaining anything back from the Zeti, making anything beneficial for our empire, or even improving our safety, if we're drowning in AP debt trying to grab every single Hero Unit Shiny and thusly be forced to carry on their quest lines to even keep them around before we do something that negatively impacts their loyalty again and need to do more stuff to restore it.

Seriously, there's only so long you can flaff about before a good QM will punish you for using the time they very generously gave you poorly.

And I have read the rewards. One stinks of betrayal and the other will pretty much end the moment we're no longer useful or until Black Doom and his forces are dealt with.

Turtling and Hoping For The Best sounds EXACTLY like what trying to get a bunch of Hero Units, do their Hero Questlines, and then get more of the same over and over again is in my opinion.

I was under the impression people want to try making that alliance as soon as possible. I'm sorry if I'm misunderstanding that.

Again, writing on the wall. Beside those, I really don't see the issues with Captain Metal action, because sooner or later we're going to meet another Archie Characters, and trigger the memories. So paralyzing ourself due to something inevitable, that may or may not bring negative result seems counter productive.

Don't worry they are overeacting, sure we need to keep in mind they management but they don't notice that we don't have a action to recruit a new index of minions for recruitment anymore. These are likely the only ones we will get for a while.

Plus they don't even know how minions will react, they will understand you don't have the best material around so they will not going to be unreasonable about it. You just need to prove you are going to keep your word and they will stick around to help Eggman reclaim his Empire so you can hepl them in the future, Clove is being so intensive because her sister is dying and can't afford to wait, she needs a cure now.

Like Clove, she don't like the suspension suit but she does understand that Shadow is knocking at the doors so she will compromise since her sister is not in danger of dying so soon.

While I do think getting Archie Eggman is likely inevitable I'd prefer to attempt (keyword) to avoid gaining his memories until we've given our Eggman some character development. And preferably unlocked some of the less evil Eggmen.

Yeah I am not againts of getting Archie triggers itself.

But if we do them we need them to be at the highest DC possible.

So far the DC for Shattered memories is at a 75, technically a 65 due to a omake reward

If we trigger archie, I would like that not only we understood better the process , but also that we had more control over it.

Both Movie and Mr Tinker were able to knock us out for enough time that they were able to have a final conversation with their minion and daughter respectively.

And both were aware that they wouldn't be waking up anymore.

There is also that seems certain versions can outright overwelm the driver and take the driver wheel themselves.

The QM's have hinted that this is what happened to Shadow.

So archie either would try to take direct control or leave a failsafe so he can return

We are literally a grown ass man. We are not some homunculus or amnesiacs with barely a few months old of memories that can easily be overwhelmed by new ones appearing. And how much character development is enough development? To me I can accept a few turns talking with Belle, but that's it. Others would like to wait until we happily called Belle daughter while she is riding on our shoulder, others until not only when we made Sage, but until she turned blue and white, and others still until we have conquered half the planet and are relaxing with the majority of our faction sitting and smiling facing the sunset.

Once our immediate needs of Hero Units are met, and unless the action GUARANTEED we are going to receive a negative impact on our character instead of chance, I prefer to just be done with it then and there under our own innitiation where we can afford to panic a bit and not when someone like Snively is pointing a barrel at our face out of nowhere and where the slightest hint of panic on our part would cost us dearly.

My guy that personality takes over for a minute
No telling what they would do
Point, still supports what I am saying. Trigger it under our own innitiative where we can expect and contain the result instead of getting blind sided by it. For example, can you guarantee there won't be ANY Archie Characters during the auction? And if your answer is we won't be in the auction meeting them directly and thus won't trigger the memories, then that means approaching Captain Metal is also safe, because we are not recruiting him as a Hero Unit it seems, but as a partner faction, and thus he won't be entering and meeting with us personally inside our base. He will only meet the Hero Unit we send to meet him.

Seriously, looking at how there's people wanting to recruit two more Hero Units, that just turns Turn 4 into at least 6 obligated actions for Hero Units. When we only have one action each for each Category of action.

And two of those actions overlap into a single Category. When again, we only have one. And we have our own needs in that action type too.

All I'm seeing is AP debt that keeps piling higher and higher.

One of the QMs literally did say it's not all take and no give, there are rewards to follow through that will benefit Eggman and they are not going to transform this in AP debt.

Serious there are like 5 Co-QMs running this quest, trust on them to know what they are doing. They would never offer all this options if there was no way to handle all these Heroes Units

It doesn't matter we NEED a mystic
I'm not dedicated ti majima but i want that mystic hero
I know we need a Mystic Hero.

That does not change the fact it sends us deeper into obligated AP use to keep them around. And that's what pains me.

There are rewards yes, but we need to actually reach them first. Until then it is AP debt and AP sinking.

It's not always the question of if the QMs know what they are doing. It's sometimes a question if the voterbase knows what they are doing.

I trust the QM's to know what they are doing in running the Quest, I do not trust our fellow Questers to make long term decisions all just for the sake of favorite characters who aren't even under our employ yet.

I'm not saying to not go for Archie stuff altogether just be smart about it and not pick up stuff that'll give us Archie Shatter rolls unless we need to. And even then I'm fine with it in some cases. We just need to be smart and not do it when we've lowered the DC and mitigate the risk.

My current belief is we can probably stop (overly) worrying about it after we've cured the Longhorn girl. After that the Belle situation will probably be solved to some extent and we'll have at least proven we're better then him in one respect which will hopefully mitigate his memories influencing ours.

At the risk of sounding like a gambler, I'm willing to stop at Piastol. One more hit and one more loyalty quest. Access to a mystic in exchange for fixing her ship (easy) and looking for Vyse (harder, probably not too bad in the long run.) I think that's reasonable in exchange for unlocking an entire branch of actions (don't pretend we can reliably do anything Mystic when our Mystic stat is in the single digits) and perhaps some other things in the future.

Yes, I know going "one more turn." Sounds like the kind of thing someone gambling or playing Civilization would say, but I mean it. I think getting a mystic character is of vital importance, because we will get 1 mystic action per turn which would otherwise be wasted (or at least very risky) without one on our payroll. Furthermore, Piastol has a very nice potential payoff. See, she's hunting Vyse. In canon, Vyse captures an imperial magic canon and upgraded engine for the Little Jack, both of which I'm sure we can use for something or other. But if he upgrades to the Delphinus before we catch him. Well… I wonder what the moonstone cannon would do if we fed it a Chaos Emerald…

Again, I know it's a risk, holding off on other Heart actions and the chance of a ceasefire/alliance. And damn it I wanted Majima on our team too… but that would be a step too far even for me. I view the cost of one heart action and a 1 turn delay as a worthy trade off for the privilege of having a Mystic stat in the double digits, the potential benefits of Arcadian technology, and a wielder of Moon Magic.

People are panicking a bit in question of Majima, like they don't even know what he wants.

For all we know he may ask to attack someone, speaking with someone else or maybe he just join us for the novelty of working with a mad scientist. Yakuza tend to be weird sometimes and Eggman is weirdly enough not the oddest thing that happen with him.

Huh, watching some stuff from Shadow Generations, Omega mentions something very interesting.

E-123 Omega said:
Power levels optimal. I do not run on inferior animal energy extractors, like the previous E-100 units. Nor do I run on feeble power cores. I possess a unique energy core. I am unstoppable.
My energy core is not related to the Chaos Emeralds. It is a unique crystal matrix that recharges through movement and absorption of enviromental energies. Therefore I can fight forever. Filing this data under "joy."

That is a pretty interesting tibbit to know, maybe not something easy to replicate, but something we could use at future.

It is probably even related to his machine from Lost world is a smaller scale as it says it absorbs enviromental energy

*pokes head in* Completely agree with recruiting Piastol. Have gone through SoA multiple times and I can tell you, you absolutely want her on your side and no one else's. She's tougher than nails, holds a grudge like nobody's business, and knows instant death magic. So yes, she's worth it. Bonus if she has that healing Death Hound with her. If Vyse and co. are helping out in fighting the Empire (they're cameo recruits in Valkyria Chronicles), then you may want Piastol to stay away from there until
Maria is found
otherwise the moment she finds out where he is, she'll want to kill him. In SoA she had a Black Spot waiting for him at the guild, but that's because it was basically neutral territory and every major port had one. Maybe she'd leave one at the Restoration?

I have said before I am a sucker for the use of colored text, this one is canon!
BTW this one (The Albatross) isn't marked as Sidestory.
