It clearly started as one. The first three episodes are unquestionably an abridged series. But then it started making its own plotlines, and... Well...
The latest episode just came out. It's off the rails. Half of the footage isn't from the episode its supposed to be abridging. It's an original fanwork using footage from multiple sources and sometimes making its own.
Anyone else watching this? It starts off a little shakier but it's tied with SAO abridged for my favorite abridged series.
