Lucas Capo seems like an interesting choice. He's got a bunch of traits that we're probably unlikely to see on our own characters, but that would probably show up for a fair number of Carentan characters.

She was managing the reorganisation of the fleet after the naval battle. None of the other flotilla leaders were able to take part for that matter. With the potential for more ships out there, the fleet needed to be brought back to order and the thirty ship pile up in the middle sorted out.
The Royal Navy only fields Royals, which can only be made at the Balan Arsenal at Etela (cost is 2,000g/500g upkeep). Other ships can't be refitted into as the difference between a Royal and other ships runs all the way down to materials.
They may have an interest for purposes of reverse engineering, but others would definitely be more grateful.

Shame we can't pilot ships that aren't standard types. I figure that even if they're not as good as Royals, even Great Houses individually don't have those, so a Lord could theoretically have worth as a new flagship for them.

... we could be persuaded to allow a Lord to be refitted as a linebacker (fair warning, though, having full semi-pro crews or pro marines/semi-pro rowers will cost a bit) and use them as a linebacker/enforcer ship, but your populace won't take the idea of a former pirate ship as an actual flagship very well. Tranquility is the bogeyman for a lot of coastal towns and villages.

Really? I'd have figured it would be the opposite: "Look at our prowess, we take silly pirate ships intact and repurpose them for our own needs, you don't need to fear these jobbers any more~"
Eh, if it has that many downsides, nevermind, though maybe some of the others will think it's fine to put up with it.

You walk out onto the balcony of Tidespray Castle to find Levar Alan, the master of the Loquacious, as he looks out over the harbour.
"Ah, Concerto!" he cries as he turns, as if in great surprise. "Please, join me," he says, waving you near.
A few strides see you to the balcony, which you recline against. You see the shadow of one of your lifeguards, cast long with the setting sun. They have been your constant companions on this island. "Of course," you reply.
"Ah, my wounded," says Levar as he turns back to the harbour. "My wounded are being treated well. I do wish for a Memphrabi surgeon, but you Sartierans are not unskilled, so I am comfortable, as are my wounded."
"That's ... good to hear," you reply.
The burr in your voice is caught by Levar who puts up a hand and chuckles. "Ah, forgive, lovely Concerto, forgive. I know that we Scholars of Memphrabi can succumb to pride too quickly."
You wait a moment and nod. "Of course. The qualities of Memphrabi physicians are legend."
"Ah, but your Songweavers...," breathes Levar, who turns to lean back against the balcony. Abruptly he raises his hands to the sky. "Ah, your Songweavers! Voices of beauty and power to stir the heavens! To see such masterful performances was worth the voyage alone."
A bright laugh escapes you. "An admirer, then?"
Levar's arms return to his sides as he smiles at you. "Yes, yes, and what a delightful surprise."
"You would have seen Songweavers in Etela, surely?" you ask.
A hand waggles a little. "Hmm! Yes, yes, and I spent time with Tulip Sonissimmo and Carla Mehdi, and respect them greatly. But magic, it is not the core and soul of Etela. In many ways, they are close to us, are the Sonissimmo, and it does them great credit in the lecture halls of Memphrabi!"
Your smile is somewhat strained at that. "Really?"
"Yes, but it means that when I go to Etela, I see the things that I have already known, just with a Sartieran spice. But when I travel here ... ah, well this is the heart of Songweaving, is it not? This is the Sartier of wonder and chorus!"
The strain leaves your expression and your shoulders relax. Levar is not the prettiest of young men but his smile, oh no, his boyish smile is infectious in its delight. You can't help but reply with your chest a little puffed with pride. "Yes, it is. We are the Children of the Song in the south, where the Chiming Forest stretches across the land and the greatest weavers reside."
"That Monica of yours... ah, my heart!" he cries. "To see her and your mother unleash wild chorus after chorus. When the Lady Sorceress Lorelei began her cast..." He trails off and glances around, as if suspecting ears in the wall. "Ah, well, in Memphrabi, you see, a man, he does not practice the arts of magic, just as a woman, she does not practice the arts of the sea, no matter that both are respected equally. But myself, well," he says, and the glint in his eye is so sly you almost find your own self looking for spies. "I perhaps know more than a man ought about such arts."
"Is that right?" you ask with a laugh. "So how do the styles compare?"
"Well, if I may finish, when Lorelei began her ritual, I could tell," says Levar. "It is a dreadfully powerful spell."
"It certainly felt like it," you reply, shivering as you remember the deep plunge on the ley lines when it began.
"Now, the magic of Memphrabi is mighty indeed," Levar continues. "But the swiftness and power of your Songweavers astounded me. Watching your mother, and the lovely Monica. Song after song! I am so glad I saw it. I will have much to discuss when I return home, and many good things to say about the House Tellar."
"I'd appreciate that," you reply.
"Truth be told, it is probably needed," says Levar. "Many in Memphrabi see Sonissimmo as perhaps the only truly civilised people outside of Memphrabi itself."
"Eh?" you blurt.
"Why, Etela, it is said in our Courts, could be any city in Heganni Emirate," he answers, before looking skyward anew. "Ah, Balan, Etela! You have seen it, I trust? The Three Sisters, the Milerean, the salons and coffee houses, the University and the Citadel..."
Your eyes narrow at him. "Yes, Levar, I've seen it."
"Carentan is nice but those who know it consider it a very large coastal town rather than a true city with the grandeur to match. Sarba is starting to develop a good reputation for their architecture, but has far to go. So to no longer have Sonissimmo rule the nation ... why, many are concerned; yes, even in the Hall of the Sage of Heaven. Our God-King worries about where you will take your people"
The fact he even declines to describe the city of Harper doesn't escape you. You've seen Sarba, it's nothing special! A year ago you would probably fly off the handle at this point, fiercely defending your homeland. But ... today you keep your counsel and let him speak.
[Trait: Hothead -> Hothead (1)]
"Well, one day Harper will grow likewise," you say instead. "But our Songweaving has always been our pride and focus, and I hope Memphrabi will come to appreciate that as much as they appreciate the buildings of the Sonissimmo."
Levar's face splits into an almighty smile. "May it be thus," he replies. "Aigh, the strictures of my people frustrate me at times."
"How so?"
"That magic is split so, we cripple ourselves at sea." Levar shakes his head. "And seeing your efforts, or Sea-Bellain Ruger's, we rob ourselves twice over. Our artillery is to be feared, but what is it really when weighed against what Tellar displayed?"
He falls quiet for a moment and then looks at you anew. "There will be shockwaves from here. In Memphrabi, Khironex, Kabilee, Renmi, ...even Tranquility. What follows from here will be interesting."
At that moment Violet Tsu walks out onto the balcony and calls for you, "Concerto, the meeting is starting."
"It has been a pleasure to talk with you, Concerto," says Levar as you make your apologies.
"Likewise," you reply. "You've given me ... food for thought."
Violet leads you back inside. "Chatty fellow, isn't he?" she remarks. "Cute smile, though..."

When this was announced, some ill-feeling arose when Lana, the Dale Mezzo, remarked, "Oh, so the Vincennes didn't learn it from you, then?"
Another report comes from the ship's carpenters of the Royal Navy task force. They have looked over the various prizes as well, and come up with scrap values and repair prices for them.

Many accounts of the battle have come in from different nobles, some with inspiring tales of derring-do and glory earned. Lily Reynolds has impressed many, as did Claire Yin. But none impress so much as Rita Hulland and Monica Reynolds, the mighty Elite Songweavers who inflicted hundreds of casualties. Indeed, with representative of all three houses (with Evelyn cynically accounting the Royal Navy Commodore as a Sonissimmo representative) present, Tellar has announced itself with a great roar of powerful Songweaving.
Great House Tellar gains Trait "Stirring From Shadow" - +1 Influence, +5 to Diplomacy Rolls opening up new relations - "Sartier and the world around Harper province have taken notice of recent events, even as the Tellar in turn begin to take notice of the world around them."
Evelyn - "Shield of Many Colours" - +2 D, +15 to rolls for gathering allied contingents, +4 to Martial when commanding multiple factions
Antonia - "Wall Taker" - +1 M, +1 Combat Dice to an attached unit when attacking fortresses

Lana - Old trait "Penitent Knight" (2 Chv, +1 M, +1 C, +1 D - Lana is hell-bent on redeeming the honour of her House) replaced by "Redeemed Knight" (3 Chv, +2 M, +2 C, +2 D, +1 Influence), [d100 = 41, no pass]
Levar Alan - "Friend of the Harp", willing to act as a conduit to Memphrabi nobility
Dale Spellknights - Replace "Lords of War" with "Lords of Mist" - Divide casualties taken by 3 instead of 2.
Candice Kettleblack - Gain "Blooded", gain "Ruby Among Diamonds", Candice seeks to prove herself as belonging in this world, prone to take risks, +5 to any failed Action roll.

Soon after the meeting, the various forces begin to depart, bearing home their wounded, their slain, and their spoils of war.
It is during the second night of their return, as the fleet makes camp for the night on another series of small islands, one day out from home, that it is discovered that they have a missing number. Miranda Long has disappeared in the confusion, and no one can say where she has gone. However, a fleet is a terribly large thing to turn back on account of any one person, and the fleet continues home.
Of course, when you arrive home and Hamid Hulland is waiting with members of the Inner Guard to arrest her, it quickly becomes clear Miranda's disappearance owed more to the impending doom of the Yellow Banner than any unfortunate mistake.
However, there is little to be done for that matter. Lana Antilles is asked to tarry before carrying on to Arbalen. The Council will reform soon to address more pressing concerns. Teuv and Arbalen await.
A/N:
There will be a reactions post coming later, and I have the other Pirate battle nearly ready to post. And Lucas Capo's Profile appears to be the one that will get expounded on, so I'll get onto that.
Sorry about the big delay on this one, I tried to go with three set proposal options several time and eventually had to admit it was just not working. So we have this approach, which hopefully isn't too clunky.[/spoiler]
@OneirosTheWriter The stat gains spoiler also caught the actions in it, you need to change it to /spoiler not /spoilers. Otherwise interesting end result, and Evelyn got even more diplo score and magic. Plus this may help the bonds between the houses grow stronger as well as work to developing allies overseas.
Can we make sure to return Loreli to the Mempharbi or has that already been done?
For the castle I think either giving to Rueger or razing it will work best.

These are what I am leaning towards. Though are the diplo tests done with Evelyn and with all our bonuses? Also what bonuses applies to the influence test. Also we have added two influence I believe thanks to trait gains. Unfortunate that Miranda Long escaped though.
Yeah, being able to return Lorelei is what Levar gets from this, because that's how I'm avoiding complicating my life with a tiny extra faction that makes my calcs nightmarishbecause that was clearly the right political move.
Edit: Diplo tests are Evelyn base with Antonia bonus, no other Council bonus.
*whistles* That's about a 50 average on the Wound Roll if that went off, nothing to sneer at. Typhoon comes out far faster, which has its own value, but still.
Now, Rita and Monica had a ton more casting dice, so if they somehow were to cast that ritual, that'd be an even bigger number since Lorelei couldn't quite take advantage of it, but given how powerful, fast, and reliable they are now I'm not sure that's really the way we would want to take our casters.

Oneiros, is that trait evolution right? Is this signifying Hothead is trying to evolve to something bigger (more hotheaded) or smaller (kept counsel, positive progress)?
Fatalities Captured is pirates that died on the battlefield and whose bodies were recovered? Or pirates who were wounded and captured and died because of their wounds later?

It turns out were right about Mirande, but it's a shame enemies have escaped twice during this interlude.
For the elite prisoners is imprisoning them with the purpose of interrogating them an option, with leniency being granted with cooperation. This would provide Sartier with much greater information about Tranquility and it's magic, along with it's society which is particularly relevant now that we know Teuv has influence there too. Loyalty to such an individualistic society is also unlikely, especially with a proper carrot and stick policy.
Also is giving the island to the navy as an institution itself an option? The Sonissimo currently have control and are naval and stewardship experts so they should be able to rebuild the island effectively in the short term, while in the medium term we can use this gift as a way to reduce overall Sonissimo control and increase Tellar influenced.
@OneirosTheWriter - I'm not sure if you noticed my edit as you may have only read the original post. (Sorry about that, typing on a small tablet is f*cking annoying)

We don't really care about Tranquility's magic as far as I can tell. It looks to be the same not that imrpessive Sea Witch stuff that Khironex uses. If we really wanted to learn about it, we could just expand ties with them. There might be some stuff that could be adapted to Naval Songweaving, I guess.
Oneiros, is that trait evolution right? Is this signifying Hothead is trying to evolve to something bigger (more hotheaded) or smaller (kept counsel, positive progress)?
Well, let's see, what would Evelyn or Antonia know (as you don't have Juan or May here...). Tellar treasury started at ~100,000g and all told you're looking at about 70k-ish for the current set of actions.
You may have heard something about the farmers being worried, for that matter.
@OneirosTheWriter Does Capo have any interest in the Warriors? My initial thought and what could be a proposed write-in would be to split those evenly between the Tellar Minors and Capo+Thanh.
Okay so we don't want to tie the funds into occupying the castle ourselves, also it is going to eat up valuable influence and character actions for us to get into shape.
@OneirosTheWriter what does Alice say about her Clan taking the castle? Is it something they will do but think it may overextend them or is it something they can maintain relatively comfortably.
[ ][HEROES] - Ransom Them - For the Heroes, Witches, and Lords there are usually interested parties who will pay a ransom. Maybe not all of them, but at least some of them. [Gain some crowns from ransom, no Chivalry change, those who cannot be ransomed will follow the fate accorded to the common Pirates, result will come next turn]
[ ][HEROES] - Execute Them - By Rope, Magic, or Steel, dispatch this filth to the only fate deserving of a pirate. [+1 Dread to all commander characters involved, +3 Pressure in Tranquility]
Is an adjustment possible here that if Ransom failed, they would be executed instead? (Or indentured, whatever.) I'm actually considering Pardoning for common pirates and I don't think it makes a ton of sense to try and get money from them but if no one pays, let them go.

[ ][CASTLE] Gift - Clan Khironex will occupy Tidespray
[ ][SHIPS] - Plan A - Lords to Ruger, Corsairs to Tellar, Warriors to Tellar Minors
[ ][HEROES] - Pardon Them
With pardon or indenture for the pirates. If we do indenture that takes care of Capo's share of the fight and nets us a small amount of gold a turn, pardon both them and the heroes will lower tranquility pressure so less likely for them to attack but we have two diplo tests to avoid relation ship loss, though we did get +1 with both so that would be a wash. The DC110 influence test looks nice, but I have no idea what bonuses apply to that roll but if we have a good chance we may want to go and get it.
[X][CASTLE] Gift - Clan Khironex will occupy Tidespray
[X][SHIPS] - Other - Write in: Plan A, except Warriors are split appropriately between Tellar Minors, Capo, and Thanh, and the most damaged Lord will be given to the Royal Navy for study.
[X][PIRATES] - Pardon Them - Release them back to Tranquility, but not before marking each one. Those found engaged in Piracy again will face the gallows. [+1 Chivalry to all commandes present, -3 Pressure in Tranquility, DC 70 Diplo Test to avoid -1 Relations with Khironex, DC 60 to avoid -1 Relations with Capo, DC110 Test to gain 1 Influence in Sartier]
[X][HEROES] - Ransom Them - For the Heroes, Witches, and Lords there are usually interested parties who will pay a ransom. Maybe not all of them, but at least some of them. -[X] Pirate Heroes who cannot be ransomed will be Indentured, not Pardoned.
All right, here are my thoughts:
1) Tellar simply just cannot afford to pony up more dough on a castle out here and yet more unhappy populace and so on (and -Capo relations). If Khironex wants it, we've got good enough relations with them at this point that it's probably fine.
2) For the ships, we'll toss a bone again towards Capo and reward their faith in supporting Evelyn's request for troops.
3) For the Pirates+Heroes, I am taking the position that enemy common combatants are under orders/don't have a lot of choice, so we'll treat them civilly and send them back, but it's their only chance. Diplo tests *should* be Evelyn (+37) + Councilor (+37/3+2=15) + Symphony (+25/3=9) for +61 +46 base, so I'm not concerned there. Their leaders are the ones responsible, and so we'll treat them appropriately as who takes the blame. Ransom and then Indenture because I think Ransom or Execute looks more like extortion/kidnapping than laying blame appropriately.
@OneirosTheWriter That reminds me, when you did the prelim post you seemed to be thinking about "Special Items". In the end, nothing dropped?
