Sorry about the wait for this update! the last few days have been pretty hectic at work.
Anyway, here's the results for this quarter!
-[X] go hunting
10+10 +10 [Scavenger] +15 [perceptive] +10 [Instinct] +15[Kaz] = 70
Success: 60/100/150
Even though the traps are reset, and Kaz is more than willing to help you hunt down and track game, the early season is not the best when it comes to hunting. You keep enough food that you're not starving by any means, but the few things you do hunt and catch end up being younger and smaller, their pelts nearly worthless despite your best attempts. While Kaz is pleased with his hunting, you do wish he would leave the pelts more intact.
[Food for this quarter acquired]
-[X]exercise and train (droid research)
88
Success: 50/80/95
With the sheer amount of components and parts you've got on hand, research into how exactly droids work is remarkably easy. The various joints and framework are all really second to the truly important part of a useful droid, the programming and learning protocols. It takes time to unravel how, exactly, these work, but its only a few days before you truly start to get how the programming works. And you get some ideas….
[Droidcraft](+10) trait acquired!
-[X]exercise and train (invention)
58
Success: 50/80/95
While the droid research and the ability to strip the code that governs them comes easy, it's a bit harder to start addressing the ideas you come up with. Ideas on how to build and enhance new sets of codes, to add new modules to the system to work with newer and more complex tools. A dozen ideas get jotted down on your consol in your spare time, and with few long hours of focus, you even start understanding how developing and implementing them would actually work.
Trait [Invention](+5) Acquired
-[X] Kath hound diplomacy (3)
93 +10 +15[Instinct] +15[Perception]= 133
Success: 100
"Follow. Hunt." The Zabraki words slip from your lips as you head for the edge of the camp, and with a few swift bounds, Kaz arrives at your side, tail wagging excitedly, a low deep rumble you've come to associate with eagerness echoing out. With ease, you fall into the same style of walking as it does, the two of you becoming horned hunters who traveled silently through the woods, soft grumbles and shifting posture conveying what you need. It's not long before Kaz picks up on a scent trail, and the two of you take off on a slow and careful jog through the forest.
Your hunting blaster is trained and ready, and its a matter of a few minutes before the scent Kaz was following came into sight. A large antlered herbivore, with the muscles and height of a sprinter.
"Flank" the word is soft, and with grace, the dark grey and brown-furred form of Kaz slipped away into the brush nearby, while you instead shifted and moved through the tree cover to the other side, blaster up and ready as you waited.
When Kaz strikes, so do you. Your blaster bolt sears through its leg and Kaz's fangs rip through the soft and vulnerable throat as your prey goes down with a bit of thrashing and a cut out scream. Your knife ends its struggles, even as Kaz starts pacing, keeping watch while you worked to clean your kill.
A few hours later, back at the camp, you sit back against your log bench, the comfortable weight of Kaz leaning on your hip as he gnawed at the bones of your kill.
Gained Bond with Kaz (2)
Special Ability [Pack Tactics] Acquired!
Kaz Character sheet will be added to the 'Allies' tab.
-[X] fuel makes the universe go round

Success: 100/140
No easy to find fuel has been found, Results combined with Saying Hi to the neighbors.
-[X]Saying hi to the neighborhood
90 +11 +15[Perception] +15[Navigation] +10[Scavenger] +5 [Speeder] = 146
Success: variable (Crit! Special event unlocked)
Over the course of a few weeks of the spring, now that the snow has cleared, but the new growth hasn't gotten thick, you take the speeder out for several trips. You've got several real goals. From hunting for a fuel depot where you can get a new Fuel Cell, or scavenge one from a different shuttle, to simple scouting, checking the valley's on the way both back towards the city and in the other directions from your camp, keeping an eye out for cabins and other signs of life. It's not until you head back out on a whim to the battlefield where you found the droids, that you find something new. A few miles past it, a deep ravine with a river cuts through the foothills from a nearby mountain.
And, built into the walls of the ravine, a series of buildings and crosswalks.
"Well, well, well. I was wondering where the shuttle came from, but what the hell is this."
There, etched into what looks like a ship landing pad, is the Insignia of the CIS.
Abandoned CIS listening Post found!
Special Event Sequence unlocked: Can you hear the Past [CIS] found!
Can you hear the Past [CIS]
There are reasons that the CIS wanted to take and hold Cha Yis V during the clone wars, and you think this might be why. Now to find out what exactly the CIS was doing here.
You've found a special event. These are shorter rounds that are far more self-contained and story-driven than the turn by turn of the CK2 system, and usually, are special missions or events where you can make a myriad of choices to complete a task. (think a Dungeon or Raid in a videogame)
In this case, it's investigating the CIS listening post, with some possible combat, diplomacy, or stealth rolls, and a chance to get some lore and back story. Its also got a chance of completing your 'search for fuel' mission if you are lucky and the dice favor you.
Do you wish to start the Can you hear the Past [CIS] side quest this quarter?
