Man... the more I read R+V, the more upset I become, especially knowing how certain things will turn out later. There are more R+V women that deserve romantic happiness than just Moka, dammit!
Aside from that. I observe from reading the manga that there are, in fact, rotary phones in the dorm lobby. ...Well, you didn't make it to the dorm before you decided to call, so I guess using the pay phone didn't hurt you.
And also someone who repeatedly commits sexual assault (attempts to rape Moka early series when the full moon was exacerbating his instincts, and even towards the end regularly gropes Mizore and Kurumu). Even if the later stuff is played for laughs, Gin's attitude towards and treatment of women is quite simply appalling.
I've observed, as I read the manga, that Gin isn't even the worst of sleazebags when it comes to women. For one, Saizou is said to be much worse. The madslug that stalks Kurumu is so horrible as to make Gin look LIKE Kakyoin.

Monster society really is just THAT much more predatory than human society.

On the other hand, this is a school. Monsters come here to learn how to fit in. And you are here to teach them. WITH YOUR FIST IF NEED BE.

Also, voting is locked. It wasn't even close.

Still working on the update.

Also, it is officially Christmas Eve as of 40 minutes ago my time~!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A FABULOUS COUPLE OF NIGHTS!

Hora.

Also, I think predatory is the key word there since (while not as overt) some of the girl were pretty bad the other way around.

I basically stopped reading the manga not long after as a joke they played the rape/almost rape of Mizore as a joke. That shit just aint cool, nor fabulous, let alone Joestar.

She got back from it, to be honest

It got played into a very convincing character scene as well, so it was hardly played off as a joke.

Honestly, I thought how that all played out was one of the better parts of R+V and justified the ending far better than it had for anyone else.

I'm honestly not sure where the scene your talking about is, but for me by that point I was just getting tired of the series.

What? That was a super serious event and treated as such. How did you read that as a joke?

The fact that it ended up just being a kiss? It was still forced upon her and to her it was obviously a violation on some sort that shook her up and shit like that.

It was after that arc, my memories are a little scrambled through out the second manga after a few volumes to where I stopped. What I'm referring to was a line Mizore said in a following arc where she was the best choice to be with Tsukune because she was more experienced. It was after Fong showed up, that much I'm sure of.

If she's able to make a joke like that, then it actually isn't the manga making a joke out of the situation, but rather a demonstration of small character growth. In which with the help of her friends and the events that happened, she was able to move past what happened and heal from the trauma, and to move on with her life.

You'd be right to be angry if they, say, made a joke about it during the arc where it happened or even god forbid after she reveals to group what happened, that would be fucked up. But since it happened long after they've had the whole confrontation and bonding and friendship, and Kurumu doing her best to help her best friend heal, well in that case it's not really meant as a joke that played the thing off lightly, but more as just growth that is shown. Especially since it's a joke she made herself and not one made by anyone else.

The best way to confront and to let go of your demons is the ability to let it go and laugh at them yourself afterall.

Well, whatever. That wasn't the final nail in the coffin for me to stop reading, but it was one of the things that made it a bit easier to drop the series. Also lets move on from this topic before it causes problems.

Indeed. We are now going to discuss how best to kill Dio. Jotaro's victory over him canonically was total BS and we all know it. There were so many deus ex machinas in that fight that it hurt to watch.

See, that would be a quick, easy victory. Why the hell didn't they do that? That technology was around back in part 2. There's no way Joseph wouldn't have been able to get ahold of it if he tried.

I mean, sure, Joseph had the Ripple, but nobody else did.

Because it would be awkward for Jotaro to get hyped up the entire arc only to get completely upstaged by Joseph at the very end of the line

Don't forget, Araki made Joseph so ridiculously overpowered he had to consistently nerf him in Parts 3 and 4 so that he wouldn't proceed to solo the setting.

Not to mention Dio essentially had the strongest counter to the ripple, his ability to freeze stuff and shoot laser out of his eyes was pretty damn strong even when he doesn't even have time stopping.

Well we're going to have to learn the ripple, and beat Dio the awesome way.

Since Tsukune is the only other human at the school, he'll have to be out Zepplini stand in. Not great, I know, but you work with what you got.
