That's just a vote for "Approach openly, with your weapons holstered, and ask to talk [Diplomacy test required]" with a few extra steps. Plus the Second Legion has no information on it at all in-universe, it's entirely likely that whoever we meet thinks we're full of shit and tries to ventilate us.

To be specific, all information on the second and eleventh legions have been purged and the standard procedure for any being claiming to be a primarch is to shoot it first, and if it survives, then drag it back to the nearest Inquisitorial representative and let them take over. Guilliman was an exception because A) Everyone knew who and where he was and B) He had the backing of Marneus Calgar, an Inquisitor, a Living Saint (some would say the Living Saint), and a Grey Knight Grand Master.
