Rimworld: Anomaly - Void Gods, Golden Cubes and Wall Lights (1.5)

Yep.

I have a bad tendency to capture these pirates (who have really good stats!) and despite having 5 dudes working I've got 3 dudes in a prison cell doing jack and eating all my food and I had to eat my huskies who randomly joined one day. Sob.

Next time: greenhouses. Greenhouses very early on.
Next time: eat the prisoners, not the huskies.

Learned my lesson.

Shame Don got kidnap by tribals tho. He's the only person in the colony with a passion for constructing!

Btw does anyone why there's a picture of a bird on that stove there?

They're basically Space MREs, they're kind of supposed to suck... Wait, from a game mechanics perspective? Oh, okay.

Seriously, though, I've never yet gotten around to trying to make those. I don't send caravans out very often, and Vegetable Garden adds several extra methods of preserving food that don't have a base research cost higher than powered armour (albeit without counting the prerequisittes) so I never really saw the point. And my colonies tend to crash and burn -often literally- before I run out of more pressing things to research.

In other news, sent two people to save a refugee, had real good stats too! And there's only 1 enemy! A few problems:

1. There are 4 turrets and my dinky bolt action does nothing.
2. I FORGOT MEDICINE
3. The refugee is naked and two hours later do I remember that I could have stripped the raider and give him clothes.
4. Best rifleman and handler died to an infection because I FORGOT MEDICINE

Ughhhhh whyyyyy

Another scenario of mine:

Steam Workshop :: Extended Vacation

When it comes to getting away from it all, it's quite difficult to do so more thoroughly than vacationing on a completely different planet. Especially if you live in one of the quite small number of solar systems which have more than one planet with a breathable atmosphere.

In this case, a rather badly-polluted urbworld is sharing a system with a midworld that nuked itself back to the Iron Age a few centuries back and has been intermittently used variously as a penal colony and adventure tourism destination by its neighbour ever since. And the latter is what four workmates are planning to do for a month...

Except that thanks to a passing freighter ditching gash at the worst possible moment, the intrepid campers find themselves climbing out of their lifepods as the wreckage of their shuttle falls around them, several thousand miles from their intended campsite.

This might be a somewhat longer vacation than they'd intended.

Incidentally, this scenario is loosely based off an original SF story I'm working on, which was in turn partially inspired by Rimworld. Although unlike most of my Rimworld sessions, I intend for it to have a happy ending!

Our Salvation Has Come
Fellow Rimmers, are you sick and tired of pawns picking up shirts one at a time rather than, a bundle? Sick of how they can haul an entire elephant corpse but not a few pistols and shivs? Well fear no more for our salvation has arrived!

Pick Up And Haul is your answer! Now Pawns will properly put stuff IN THEIR INVENTORY and unload them at a stockpile!

Praise the modders!

Currently doesn't work with Simple Sidearms, or so it seems, which is a bit of a dealbreaker for me. Oh well, I'm sure they'll get to that.

So someone made a post on r/rimworld detailing how packaged survival meals, really suck.

Then someone else made a mod that make it suck less so here you go, fellow cannibals.

My last colony was at the point where I was literally producing nothing but lavish meals/stew to stop my freezer from overflowing and had 14+ pack muffalos, so "pemmican is more resource efficient" runs into "eh, I have too much food anyway".

Granted, pemmican makes more sense before that point.

I suppose it doesn't really matter much most of the time anyway, because you're not going to be making packaged survival meals in bulk unless you're planning a long overland trek or stocking a panic room.

Well fuck. It seems like my latest game went Caput because something happened to the save file, and all of the colonists straight up disappeared from the save file. They simply don't even exist amongst the pawns list, and are only mentioned in the Tale section.

And now I can't even restore the colonists with their injuries and skill levels intact ;;w;;

At least ninety one, including library mods.
And while I'm at it, something is preventing the save files from saving fully. Like, the bloody saves are more than half the normal weight of a Rimworld savefile.

91? 0_o I'm lucky if I can get 20 to play nicely without crashing. Try a few game without big mods and see if those save properly.

The problem is, the save corruption only starts to happen hours after I started the game. For the first few hours everything works and saves perfectly, but then something happens, the new saves stop saving properly, and end up only one third of their supposed size.

The worst thing is that I think that I bumped into this problem once before, about a year or two ago. And I solved it by removing some specific mod. But I have no bloody clue which, and I have no bloody clue how I figured it out in the first place.

Heres a question to everyone I've been wanting to get into a Call of Cthulhu game and after finally feeling confident to do it I'm wondering what mods I should bring I've already had all the Clthulu mods as well as vegetable garden, dubs bad hygiene, and the ones that add new tabs anything else I should get?

All I know is try to be careful with vampire stuffs. They are incredibly overpowered by default.

Have y'all tried Giddy Up? It's a real game changer. Put in horses and you get more Firefly in your diet! Funny thing how the only reason why Rimworld is considered western is due to music, hats and dusters, and not much else. It took us until B18 to get revolvers for Cassandra's sake.

I downloaded RimQuest last night. Ugh. Wished I had time to play the game more. I haven't played in a month but have downloaded 20 mods.

Also, cool art!
