On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

[X] Gromthi Rinri: Healing

- [X] Yourself: Emphasize what actually interests you and what you feel is most important. The potential research, the survival of the untainted and their subsequent clearing by Gazul. Not to mention the odd phenomena encountered during and on the way there; like the passing of time, the magic-wielding Dawi and the armoured Beastmen.
[X] [Forger] Both.
Do both. The knowledge has been proven, the usefulness undeniable, therefore it must be shared with all the speed and efficiency the Dawi can bring to bear when sufficiently motivated. It will be expensive and it will be very unorthodox, but the results will speak for themselves. Cost: [1 actions] Locked in for 4 turns. Take on Book Binding: Cost: [6 actions] Peerless Production will proc.
- [X] [When] Write-in: Beginning of Turn 42

Couldn't we reserve the book for our personal library? Our apprentices and their lines could be allowed to access it. If we combine it with teaching a few select dwarves in the south we could get the best from both

We could just wait until shortly before Snorri's death and then write his autobiography including his entire runic and general knowledge. It will be the dwarf version of the Books of Nagash.

Snorri will not die of age (by WoG. Snorri is too busy to die), so his death is always going to not have time for that kind of prep.

I have an idea for a good compromise for chain forger teaching we teach the runes the normal way and make a book but the book won't contain anything about casting runes but instead be about how to use them to make the chain with enough little references and hints about the rune that should the knowledge about the runes be lost future runesmiths if they are worthy will be able to reconstruct them

Healing is definitely where it's at here IMO. The dwarves have very little in the way of magical healing, so anything we could achieve there could be a gamechanger.

Weirdo iconoclast for life.

The book is only marginally lower in terms of AP required - we'd need to spend at least 3 AP to have a chance (with Peerless Production, a very good chance) of resolving it in one turn, so that's only one less than just doing Teaching. And writing down Runic lore is very much against Runesmith sensibilities, so I really don't feel like it's worth it IMO. And I figure we can get started the turn after we finish up with Grave Wardens.

I have to say that this joke has grown more than a bit stale and while I get that the dwarves fetishize age to an insane degree there comes a point where stating that a thousand year old being that has outlived the life expectancy of the large majority of the rest of its race is young and thus foolish simply sounds stupid.
Hmm that wasn't what I intended, I'll tinker with the line to get what I mean to come across.

EDIT: the implication that Snorri is foolish part that is.

Teaching requires the runelords coming north, experiencing their way of doing things rather than hearing about them etc.

Don't really care for when for the forger stuff, just want it to be both.
