Requiem of the Deep
A Kancolle Abyssal Role Playing Game
Article:
September 11, 2021

The Abyssal War has been declared over. Three days ago, a combined task force, the largest ever seen, freed the island of Madagascar from Abyssal corruption. The week long battle ended climatically as the superbattleships Yamato and Missouri engaged and defeated the Empress-type Abyssal known as Reunion Empress. Following the battle, a previously unknown entity claiming to be the leader of the Abyssals formally surrendered the war.

After two days of peace talks between world leaders and the Abyssal's leader, Abyssal holdouts across the globe gave up arms and surrendered peacefully...

Many Abyssal holdouts surrendered peacefully. Yours was not one of them. Your Princess had not acknowledged the authority of this being claiming to be your leader, and had struck out against the Kanmusu fleet surrounding your island defenses. She was brutally killed in the fighting, and you barely managed to escape with your lives. With luck and a heavy storm, you managed to evade your Kanmusu pursuers. What will you do now?

Howdy folks, and welcome to the Abyss. I decided to try my hand at running a game after playing a few that I really enjoyed, and some games that I didn't enjoy so much. Combat will be fairly freeform, and results will be decided by the GM. Rules here are simple;
Be polite,
Keep OOC stuff OOC,
Don't try to be overpowered,
No god-modding,
Do not argue with the GM for I am not subtle and rather quick to anger,
And most importantly: Have fun!

Character creation:
The humans have yet to learn the Abyss' true nature. They do not know that for each ship they built, the Abyss made one her equal. Similar, yet invariably different from the ship she was designed after.
This basically means that you can take your favorite ship that served in the period of 1930-1948, and Abyssalize them. Paper ships will be allowed in a case-by-case basis. Museum ships are off limits.

Note: The initial number of capital ships will be rather limited, and there will only be one carrier. This does not mean the game will be first come first serve, and just because you are not in the first wave does not mean I dislike your sheet.

Also, we have a Discord! Come visit, and ask questions!

Ta-Class Impero
Ship name: Impero
Ship class: Vittorio Veneto
Abyssal Classification: Ta-class fast battleship
Appearance:

  • Usual blue eyes and white skin of Abyssals.
  • Hair is black, wavy, and worn loose.
  • Retains the garters, stockings, hat, and belly armor of the VV-class shipgirls, but in black and blue stripes.
  • Top is a black version of Littorio's with a blue tie. Also has the detached sleeves of Littorio, also in black.
  • Skirt is now a pair of black briefs.
  • Look is completed
Personality:
Impero is one of the angry Abyssals; at sea, she alternates between terse iciness and laughing bloodlust depending on whether she's in a surface fight or not. Off the sea, she's friendly and calmly cheerful, if a bit tend to falling into an obsessive fugue over one thing or another. Can be usually found fiddling with ballistics calculations or some sort of captured human electronics.

Quirks:
While Impero hates humanity on principle, she reserves her creativity for anything German, and eases up a bit on the French, though she'll still try to kill them.

Bombers, especially high-altitude bombers, are a good way to fluster her.

Do not ask to tow her.

Ta-class Bismarck
Ship name:
Bismarck

Ship class:
Bismarck-class Battleship

Abyssal Classification:
Ta-class Heavy Battleship

Appearance:
Bismark adorn the usual features known to Abyssals. Pale snow-white hair and blood-red eyes. She has a trademark scar on her left cheek. Bismark usually wear a suit and military gloves.

Personality:
Bismarck is an enthusiastic nationalist. She is particularly proud of her class; praising "German science" and generally loudly boasting the Germans given the occasion. Althought that doesn't mean she won't slaughter them, she hold great disdain for what Germany had become, losing its superiority over the rest of the world. Bismarck's defining trait is a complete and utter obsession with war. She loves war in any and all of its aspects. Her insane devotion to war is evident in the sheer fondness with which she regards the havoc the Abyssals wreaks upon the world.

Quirks:
-Bismarck likes to shout "German science is za best in the world!" when she proved her superiority or after winning.
-Bismarck's fanatic love for war is translated into her fond motherly smile while she slaughter Humans.
-Bismarck hate with a passion any and all torpedo bombers.

Ship name: Franklin Roosevelt

Ship class: Midway-class aircraft carrier

Abyssal Classification: Wo-class carrier

Appearance:
Looks like an Abyssalized version of KanColle's take on Saratoga, albeit with an M3 Grease Gun inspired flight deck, as compared to Saratoga's M1 Thompson inspired flight deck, which means that Rose's flight deck is more brute force industrial in it's design than Saratoga's, with all of the unnecessary frills trimmed off of the design, resulting in a weapon that is effectively a M3A1 with a surprisingly short looking flight deck welded to the top.

Personality: Franklin Roosevelt, Rose to those she has fought alongside, is a strange sort of nationalist, firmly declaring that if the United States hadn't given up, they could have used the threat of the Bomb to take over the world at the end of the war, and made sure that Fascism was destroyed forever, and that Godless Communism would never hold sway with any nation. It's this perceived failure that is the reason for her particular hatred of modern Americans, and the ships that serve them, who she sees as being little but a bunch of "'politically correct' sniveling cowards". She especially hates the returned "kanmusu" of the United States Navy, seeing their servitude towards modern America as a betrayal, one that Jima takes personally.

However, she can be surprisingly caring towards other Abyssals, especially lighter classes of ship assigned to escort her, not quite calling her fellow capital ships friends, but not keeping too many secrets from them and getting very angry whenever fellow Abyssals sailing with her are damaged.

Quirks:
-Rose isn't the type to talk much, but when she does start talking, she talks with a Midwestern accent.
-For all that she dislikes modern America, she will acknowledge when an American manages to not live down to her expectations. She'll still kill them, but instead of killing them slowly, she'd make it quick.
-Rose tends to think long term when choosing her targets, preferring to have escorting destroyers ambush anti-aircraft focused vessels with torpedo strikes and surprise gunfire before vectoring in her dive and torpedo bombers, allowing her to minimize casualties to her air wing.
-Rose, when angry, tends far more towards Tranquil Fury.

Ha-class L'Audacieux
Ship name: L'Audacieux, or just Audacieux for ease of usage.
Ship class: Le Fantasque-class Destroyer
Abyssal Classification: Ha-class Destroyer
Appearance:

Audacieux looks almost too old to be a Destroyer at eighteen-nineteen, easily mistaken for a Light Cruiser. She is built like a professional athlete runner, tall and lean.

She wears a very large and worn dark blue trenchcoat, big enough for her to almost disappear into when she feels like getting away from the world.

Her hair is blood-red, short-cut and messy, with features not too distant from a Re-class, that look like they should be laughing and smiling, not scowling and gritting her teeth. Audacieux's dull blue always seem tired, sunken into their sockets and with black eyebags like she hasn't slept in days. There's always a glint of unhinged madness in them, like broken glass, that comes into full bore when she's particularly angry and only goes away when she's happy.

Personality: Audacieux is a bitter and sullen individual, the kind of person who will take everything the world throws at her and dutifully file away every wrong and slight, imagined or otherwise, into a neatly ordered list at the back of her mind, serving as a fresh supply of spite to draw upon. And when it boils over, it does so in an explosive expression of pure, unthinking rage.

But aside from when she's been angered beyond reason Audacieux will usually opt to avoid confrontation, whether via passivity or simply running away. She will justify her actions through her own self-loathing: the French are the worst in her eyes, and she's French, so she's the worst, and thus only acting in her nature.

Quirks: Audacieux hates everyone. No nationality, occupation, side, or other distinguishing marker can shield against her scorn, least of all those shared by her. The Germans were a bunch of fascists who started the whole thing, with Italians as their cheerleaders, and the Japanese were little better. Americans are fucking cowards who sat behind their ocean safe and sound while others suffered. The French were a cavalcade of clowns who couldn't figure out which end of the rifle the bullet comes out of even with an instruction manual. She even loathes her own sisters for being allowed to fight on, whereas her hulk was cannibalized for parts.

However, there are levels of hatred to be reserved for those who have earned her ire. And aside from herself, the pedestal of her loathing belongs to the British.

Still, every so often something of who she used to be can be seen. She loves the open ocean, speeding across the waves, the fastest ship in the entire sea. She'll enjoy a good food. Or she might hear a nice tune, and hum along. For a moment, she can be happy. It doesn't last, but it never does.

While she'll accept that she is a murderer, a coward, and many more things besides, the one thing she fully believes herself to not be is a traitor. As far as she is concerned one cannot betray something one never voluntarily swore allegiance to, and accusing her of such is the fastest way to make her unreasonably angry. Betraying one's allies is the lowest of the low, as she witnessed first-hand at Mers-el-Kebir, and it is the one depth she will never sink to.

In a fight Audacieux is elusive, preferring to use her speed, but once committed to an attack she is absolutely relentless. She is no master of ballistics or torpedo spreads, but she'll keep trucking with gritted teeth, and when the fight is over she has a phenomenal ability to bounce back from damage.

She's also kind of an alcoholic, and a very depressive drunk.

Tsu-class Oakland
Ship name: Oakland / (T)Sunder
Ship class: Atlanta (Oakland Subclass)
Abyssal Classification: Tsu Class
Appearance: Her helmet is slightly modified, but she's quite a standard Tsu-class. But once her helmet is off it is revealed that she has Abyssal black hair cut rather short in order for her to fit within the odd shaped helmet that helps define her class. Another notable thing revealed is that at the back of her back is a connective port that exists for the data cabling to connect to and further feed her information directly into her brain greatly improving her performance.

Helmet and under helmet details

The face under the helmet
Cropped from original art by ryuun [PIXIV ID 2118155. WARNING: FUCKTONS of NSFW content on that account]

The helmet itself

(Also what the arms look like under the rigging)
Cropped from original art by minarai [PIXIV ID 5939. WARNING: Contains NSFW content on account]

Personality: has a bit of a split personality when out of battle compared to once she wires into her rigging.
When out of her rigging or not having her neural connection cable inserted, she's rather friendly, although she gets nervous around the far more powerful battleships due to their just raw power. Although with her instincts as an escort, she'd at times find herself gravitating towards the capital ships and following them subconsciously.

Once she's connected and her rigging is active her personality changes, growing colder and somewhat distant. She can't let things get in the way of her duty. And there is a legitimate risk of her getting tunnel vision when it comes to the ship she's instructed to protect. It also has her having problems of strong danger of being willing to take a hit for her escort, even though it may be utterly unneeded.

Quirks: Often she'll put her helmet on if she's to be around capital ships even without the rest of her rigging to hide that she feels uncomfortable around such groupings of powerful ships due to the fact she's a lowly cruiser around giants.

OVERLOAD - By disabling limiters and safeguards, it allows her to push herself beyond her limits for a short time. This heightened performance is still limited by her nature as a Tsu class and also has the downside of that by pushing herself that hard she risks damaging herself, from weapons seizing up to her neural connection cable giving her feedback issues or worse. It's a gamble but one she'll take often if it down to it.

Anything else: How is she the only one so far who seems mostly sane?

Unfortunately, I seem to have a terrible sense of timing, and won't have internet access all of next week. Applications will still be accepted while I'm gone, and if you have questions regarding character creation or the like, please feel free to join the Discord server and ask.

I'll be back sometime next Saturday, and will hopefully be able to answer any questions then. I'll choose Wave 1 on Monday the 23rd (assuming there's enough submissions to justify it), and the IC will be up sometime the next day. Hopefully.

Ha-class Drexler
Ship Name:
USS Drexler

Class:
Allen M. Sumner-Class Destroyer

Abyssal Classification:
Ha-class

Appearance:

Height: ~140 cm

Personality:
At first glance, Drexler is short and quick to anger. At second glance, she's also loud, inexperienced, and confrontational. But if you look really closely, you'll see a destroyer that feels deeply insecure about her six-month service life and is still coming to terms with life as an abyssal. To her, proving herself to her fellow abyssals is a chance to make up for her many shortcomings, even if it means putting her second lease on life at risk.

When she isn't out at sea, however, she's busy spying on supervising the other abyssals in the fleet. Can't have anyone looking down on her behind her back, right? In the rare moments where she isn't "looking out" for her fellow abyssals, she spends her time trying to learn about the world, be it through old newspapers or the "inter-net."

She's also of the firm belief that all of humanity should just die in a hole. Why? Because they invented planes but didn't even have the good grace to make her plane-proof. To her, idiots of that caliber don't deserve to live.

Quirks:
- Stray projectiles have a tendency to gravitate towards Drexler. As in, if you're throwing anything anywhere near her, you're most likely going to end up with a really angry destroyer screeching in your ear.
- It's a bird! It's a plane! No wait, it's jus — Doesn't matter to Drexler, if there's even a chance that that's a plane up in the sky, you can expect all of her guns to be aimed at the U.F.O. within milliseconds.
- Calling Drexler "cute" or otherwise patronizing her will inevitably end with her screaming at you about all the wonderful and delightful plans she has for you (and/or your corpse). And no, she did not say "disember" instead of "dismember."
- A surefire way to get Drexler off your back is to assign her a "super important" mission. Bonus points if it's "top secret."

Ru-class Nagato
Ship Name: Nagato

Ship Class: Nagato-class battleship

Abyssal Classification: Ru-class battleship

Appearance:
  • She looks like the image above, except the glowing parts are colored teal.
Personality:
  • She doesn't rush into combat in hot-blooded anger. Rather, her rage is like that of steel, that is, cooled, tempered, and focused. Tranquil fury, in other words.
  • Her issue is with nations and polities, not with individuals nor ships. Therefore, she takes a more pragmatic approach, making her kills as swift as possible. When others draw out the deaths of their foes, she would wonder why they don't just shoot them and be done with it. It's not out of moral reasons, but rather, of practical ones. One could be interrupted, after all.
  • While she hates humanity in general for the destructive politics and wars they've had, she holds the most animosity towards Japan and the US for more personal reasons, for being led into a war that couldn't be won, for the deaths of her comrades, one by one, and being unable to save them, for the explosion that killed her sister, Mutsu, for betrayal as she was handed over to another nation, and for being used as a test subject for nuclear bombs, denying her an honorable death either in combat or of old age. She holds respect for certain individuals, however, like her late admiral, Yamamoto, and a fellow veteran and Crossroads victim, Saratoga.
  • During most of her previous life, she could only watch from the back as her fleetmates bled and died. Now, she's eager to stand alongside them, to be able to fight with her armor and guns. She's willing to take hits for them, if necessary.
  • She tends to have a supportive attitude towards fellow Abyssals, trying to help them should they feel down and such. They are in similar circumstances, after all, having grievances against humanity.

Quirks:
  • She has an appreciation for nature, for engineering, and for cute things. It's not everyday she gets a second chance at life, after all, and she remembers her comprehensive refits and reconstruction all those years ago. The thoughts that went into that intrigue her.
  • She likes to observe the sights and sounds around her, whether it's by taking walks, by cruising on the sea, or just by sitting down and meditating. Whether it helps her understand either the world or herself, or not, is a question she has yet to answer.
  • She tends to spend time practicing her gunnery and maneuvering skills. One must continuously grow stronger to thrive in the battles to come.
  • She's eager to prove that even though she's an old ship, she can still fight it out with her younger peers. This may result to being a tad too willing to go for the kill, though she knows that there is also a time to retreat and regroup.
  • She misses her sister, Mutsu, and would sometimes daydream of happy memories shared together.

Anything else:
  • Specs-wise, I intend to use her 1944 configuration, before she was converted into a dedicated AA platform. Therefore, her armament would consist of 8 x 41cm guns, 18 x 14cm guns, 8 x 12.7cm dual purpose guns, and 98 x 25mm AA guns, and she would carry three Mitsubishi F1M floatplanes.
  • Kantai Kessen Yamato Damashii! :V

Yo-class Scorpion
Ship name: Scorpion/USS Scorpion (SS-278)
Ship class: Gato-class submarine
Abyssal Classification: Submarine Yo-class

Appearance:
At a glance, Scorpion has little, if anything, to contrast herself from her sister subs. Perhaps, if not accounting for a slight tinge of dark red in her lengthy hair? And, of course, her odd obsessions: to make her rigging sleeker, lighter and evermore 'tastefully' ornamental. The most unique, peculiar thing, is her signature tricorne hat emblazoned with the rictus grin of a jolly roger.

Personality:
Scorpion doesn't emote too well, but just because her face is awfully blank doesn't mean she's a soulless vapid husk. Indeed. There is something that drives her, that feeling, that passion, is greed. A material girl at heart, she covets all things that are extravagant in life. Naturally, those things are rightfully hers. Unfortunately, because of that greed; she's quite willing to do anything to get her mittens on treasures so rightfully hers. Truly, a girl who sometimes bites more than what she can feasibly chew.

Quirks:
- She has a tendency to go for a cocky, pirate-like persona. Despite any threats of possible violence or reprimand against her person, she shows absolutely no signs of relenting to her peers.
- Possessions come and go, but she cherishes her hat dearly. . . to the point of psychotic hysteria should it get lost, stolen or damaged.
- Scorpion, oddly enough, is a skilled hair stylist. Namely because she's so wishy-washy with her own hair, and so, changes through various styles until she finally ends back to square one: her boring, boring, lengthy bangs. ;_;
- If the price is right (and usually it's very steep,) Scorpion can be roped into doing nearly anything. Sanity be damned.
- While she might sound tame, Scorpion is an Abyssal for reason. She can be quite monstrous in her 'pursuit of happiness'.

Anything else:
N/A

Tsu-class Juneau
Ship name: Juneau

Ship class: Atlanta-class light cruiser

Abyssal Classification: Tsu-class light cruiser

Appearance:
Underneath her helmet, Juneau has short, shaggy white hair. On the right side of her stomach is a fading vertical scar.

Personality:
Juneau's number one priority is survival. Her own survival is paramount of course, but the survival of her allies is equally important. She remembers being left behind by her allies in her previous life, so now she refuses to leave anyone behind at all. She has her own sense of hatred and rage, but prefers to temper them. The urge to rip and tear her enemies doesn't surface unless they happen to be right in her face, and her hatred for humanity is more for killing her allies; humanity is the enemy, and they must be destroyed.

She tries to be friendly among her fellow Abyssals. Or at least make sure that nobody's trying to kill each other. A navy that fights itself cannot effectively fight the enemy, after all.

Quirks:
- Equally suspicious and hateful of surrendering Abyssals as she is of kanmusu. Betrayal and abandonment are things she absolutely despises, and to surrender to humanity is the ultimate betrayal of the Abyssal cause.
- Mildly wary of submarines, and keeps track of any submarines in her immediate vicinity.
- Has an innate urge to protect. Screening and defending against air attack are things she's familiar with, and she finds herself automatically moving to defend any ally that's in danger.

He-class Helena
Ship name: USS Helena

Ship class: St. Louis class light cruiser

Abyssal Classification:
He-class cruiser

Appearance: https://68.media.tumblr.com/304cccdd38d61e0091999f1b165124e5/tumblr_osljjkv42n1s8lfn3o1_500.png

Personality:
Helena is very protective of her fellow abyssal, especially the other light cruisers and destroyers. She has less than fond memoires of leaving numerous friends in the battles in Iron Bottom Sound that she participated in, especially giving the order to leave Juneau's crew to die after the cruisers sinking on Black Friday. She has absolutely zero regard for her own life, and routinely puts herself at risk in order to insure the survival of others.

Quirks:
- Is very protective of Juneau after what happened in the war. She treats the light cruiser as a younger sister.
- Prefers to shoot first and IFF later. After watching her warnings pissed away by admirals at Guadalcanal, she isn't afraid to take matters into her own hands.

Wo-class Iwo Jima
Ship name: Iwo Jima (Jima, or iWo Jima)

Ship class: Essex-class aircraft carrier (USS Iwo Jima)

Abyssal Classification: Wo-class carrier

Appearance:
  • Despite being an Abyssal, still shares the defining characteristics of a kanmusu Essex-class carrier, namely her rigging and the M1 Garand she uses to launch her planes.
  • Despite being a carrier, her appearance is oddly gaunt and skeletal, a representation of the fact that she was only partially completed before she was scrapped.
  • Her outfit is fairly normal for a Wo-class, however, albeit minus the silly hat.
  • Her eyes are a pale grey, and glow more like a dockyard flood lamp, albeit not brightly enough to be actually useful in the dark.
  • Her hair is white, almost like paper, albeit with steel grey highlights.
Personality: Jima is very duty bound, focused on doing her job and doing it well. However, she does have things she's bitter over. For starters, she's incredibly bitter towards her fellow Essex-class carriers, especially USS Phillipine Sea, due to them having been completed when she wasn't. Jima's also very bitter towards the United States' military, in particular the Air Force, for what she sees as having actively hampered the safety and security of the United States of America just to masturbate their own egos.

Regardless, Jima will, to the best of her ability, avoid needlessly prolonging the death of an American serviceman or woman, or an American that has earned her respect. However, she won't extend the same mercy to foreign personnel, and she actively hates Axis kanmusu.

Quirks:
  • Jima, when angered, tends to bottle up her anger and emotions until she is unable to do so, resulting in her becoming focused on making whatever is the target of her rage pay when she does snap.
  • Jima always walks in a right-left-right pattern, leading with her right foot unless it's actively impossible for her to do so, or she focuses on not leading with her right foot.
  • Jima is actually fairly skilled at rifle drills, in particular the style practiced by the US Navy's own rifle drill teams.
  • Jima only really has any respect for humans that don't simply turn and run when faced by the might of the Abyss. A good example would be a father trying to distract an I-class destroyer with nothing but a handgun. Jima would still kill him if he got away unscathed, but if the I-class maimed him and was killing him slowly, she'd redirect them and simply kill him outright with one of her weapons, seeing it as a more fitting death.
Anything else:

  • 54 Vought F4U Corsair fighters, occasionally fitted with rockets or 250 lb non-AP bombs for light anti-ship duties or air to ground engagement.
  • 18 Curtiss SB2C Helldiver dive bombers, used as scouts and as more economical anti-ship options for when torpedoes are either scarce or unavailable.
  • 18 Grumman TBF Avenger torpedo bombers, for when that stupid battleship absolutely positively has to die now.

Ru-class Arizona
Ship Name: Arizona (also will respond to Ari)

Ship Class: Pennsylvania Class Battleship

Abyssal Classification: Ru-Class Battleship

Appearance:

  • Standing at a staggering 6 feet and 7 inches, Arizona is one of the tallest girls in the fleet.
  • Irises are a milky white color, however they still work fine
  • Standard Re-Class Attire, with a small dream catcher on one of the gun turrets for help when she dreams of her sinking.
  • Hair is around Mid-back Length, and is snow-colored
Personality: When not in battle, Arizona is a gentle giant. She often indulged in playing with the I-class destroyers, making small talk with the cruisers, some friendly sparring with other battle ships, and watching the carriers practice in peace. When she does take to the field, her personality does a complete 180. She barely responds to any talk outside of mission directives or direct orders, and will eliminate targets with extreme prejudice, and almost no remorse. Unlike most Kanmusu, She can perfectly recall the details of her sinking, and suffers PTSD from it. This has slightly abated from when she was first summoned, but it still does occur. She hate Japan with a burning passion for what they did to her, and she hates America for, in her mind, just letting her die. She could have easily been recovered and repaired, but was left behind, scrapped for salvage, and got built a small memorial that only serves to remind her of the worst day of her life. She does however hold great sympathy for the victims of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, because it reminds her of what happened to her, which is a fate she wouldn't wish upon anyone or thing.

Quirks:
  • Obsessively services her guns when she has the chance, which leads to them being in near perfect condition and always at peak efficiency.
  • Has great knowledge of American DC procedures, and can teach anyone who will like to learn.
  • Favorite motto is, "Revenge is a dish best served cold."
  • Surprisingly is ambidextrous, but prefers left hand.
  • Has a small radio station that listens into Human radios, specifically Military frequencies which can help out in a pinch.
  • Complete and total dork for anything involving Cute things, especially cats
  • Great respect for flora and fauna, because they don't need fancy machines to survive
OOC: This is the very first quest I've gone on, so any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Edit: Fixed, hopefully I don't cause any problems...

Thanks for your submission! One minor note is that Ari would be a Ru-class, not a Re-class. There's only one ship who I will allow being Re-class, and I'm not saying who unless someone submits her.

Ka-class Rechinul
Ship name: NMS Rechinul

Ship class: Rechinul-class submarine

Abyssal Classification: Ka-class submarine

Appearance: For the most part, she looks like the typical Ka-class. However she is somewhat smaller than most ships of the class, and the rigging on her back is larger to house mines. Her teeth, whenever she removes the mask, also appear sharp, like a shark's.

Personality: Highly shy and quiet, oftentimes forgettable. While she resents his part of her nature, she is unable to change it. Really only dislikes humans because that's how Abyssals are. Except Russians, she really doesn't like Russians. In battle she mostly just sneaks around to do whatever she's told. A favoured tactic of hers is to move underneath path of an enemy ship and release mines.

Quirks:
  • Fiercely protective of the little torpedo-shooting part of her rigging, is practically always clutching it.
  • Has a cool head under pressure, not that anyone really notices because she doesn't speak up
  • Often attempts to move her hair out of the way of her eye, it inevitably falls back into place, frustrating her.
  • Stutters, which is also something she resents
  • Really doesn't like depth charges
  • Stealthy

Anything else: Mines!

Ro-class Grom
Ship name:
ORP Grom
Ship class:
Grom-class Destroyer
Abyssal Classification:
Ro-class Destroyer
Appearance:

(if anyone else finds one, look, in my defense it's midnight and my work has mostly stopped braining.)
Instead of teal, accents and glow are in the color #9C3B92 (see below)
Personality:
Grom is a cheerful sort , who certainly isn't hiding any trauma underneath a cheerful facade-that's crazy talk! She knows she's not exactly in the center of the bell curve for abyssal behavior, but she's frankly been suppressing a lot of emotions for far too long to stop now. She's been fighting with the gang for a while now, and feels that a lot of their difficulties are her fault, even if she doesn't show it.
Quirks:
  • Hates aircraft of any type (probably due to her unfortunate end at the hands of a bomb)
  • Greatly enjoys attacking land-based targets
  • Eats almost everything with mayonnaise, and sometimes eats it by itself...
Anything else:
She really hates aircraft, okay?

There's a bit of an inconsistency in the IC thread. Some people are talking through lamp signals and others directly.
-The former its the dead of the night in the middle of the ocean and we may still have enemies pursuing us and I assume we are in radio silence.
-The latter implies that we are close enough to each other so we can talk face to face or we turned on our radios.

So sorry if I'm a bit confused on our situation right now.

I admit I was too but I had no idea how our formation was so I figured we could just talk normally. I don't even know anymore how we're to talk. Not like I got any mounts for strobes like that

The first post said it was morning/dawning, so signal lamps are pointless as far as I see. And, at least how I interpreted it, communication was some kind of abstracted sense of either radio or signal lamps, but essentially comes down to communicating normally as opposed to assuming we're still going stealth.
