I'm going to give you a piece of meta-advice: Development can be used to create or alter spells on the fly, mid-battle. Creating completely new things is possible, with difficulty based on complexity and your knowledge skills, but modifying existing abilities like, for example, Magic Blast, is actually quite easy. A roll is still needed, but the DCs aren't high.
Yes, well, if we ever get to the point where people are more worried about our friends' lives than maybe tripping over an invisible tentacle we can try a combat option or two.
There´s no need to still be antagonistic, they are not made out of cardboard nor are they completely helpless.Yes, well, if we ever get to the point where people are more worried about our friends' lives than maybe tripping over an invisible tentacle we can try a combat option or two.
You're right, that was out of line. The problem is that we're not voting to assess the situation; we're voting to run away, and then maybe come back later, when we have what is probably the ideal tool for stealth recon as our primary magical ability, and we're not using it because maybe the enemy has deployed invisible tentacles specifically to counter the ability that nobody knows we have. It boggles the mind. There´s no need to still be antagonistic, they are not made out of cardboard nor are they completely helpless.
Assessing the situation first and THEN choosing what to do is not a foolish thing to do
I expect invisible tentacles not because they're countering the ability no one knows we have, but because it's goddamn lovecraft and that shit's pretty standard for them. You're right, that was out of line. Okay, I can definitely live with this, except I'd also add that we want to limit our time in TS. Too often I see QMs use open-ended TS to mean that Homura spends whole minutes stopped, when really the above should take like 45-60 seconds max, especially for an experienced user.[X] Time stop
[X] Pull Sayaka into time stop and help her move Mami out of danger.
[X] Flight. Safe-ish distance, observe, figure out what the hell's attacking and why.
-[X] Use a grief seed on the way out.
[X] Once Mami and Sayaka are safe return to investigate the situation in time stop.
-[X] Arm self with machine gun
--[X] Be prepared to fight anything that moves despite time stop.
This seems to cover our bases nicely. It seems that TheEyes is missing a crucial part of the vote, and it's even listed in the shorter bandwagon. "Observe, figure out what the hell's attacking and why." Yes, we're voting to get the hell outta dodge, but we're still saying "Try to see what exactly we're running from."
I try very hard not to do that, if it helps any.Okay, I can definitely live with this, except I'd also add that we want to limit our time in TS. It really does.
Hmm that IS tricky to answer....injury, or death via its appearance and/or its proximity to us.
Well, I mean. I just want to know if just being near it or just looking at it is enough to cause us to suffer. Obviously, getting near it is likely to provoke it which will cause it to attack which in theory CAN inflict pain and/or death, so I tried to disclude that from the Blue.
Oh no, don't get discouraged, just look at how your statements could be turned against you and make addendums.That... actually terrifies me, to be quite honest.
So if I had to make a guess, it has a True Form of the Mortals Cannot Comprehend variety, and one or more forms that we are capable of being near and staring at until we're blue in the face. I want to make a blue to check my theory, but I've proven to be worse than Battler at constructing them.
