Remnant Extraterrestrial Defense Force (R.E.D) - RWBY/XCOM Crossover - (Reboot)

"We have reported with growing numbers about the recent terrorist attacks across the four kingdoms, Vale officials have yet to comment on the recent—" the holographic television screen blinked off, as a man standing on a podium cleared his throat. Surrounding him were tables, seats, and chairs, with four groups of people, each with three people in them were busy taking notes and listening. Four labels were placed: Vale, Atlas, Mistral, Vacuo
There was a quiet murmur between all them, all of them chatting and talking amongst each other. "Settle down everyone, settle down.", he said. They all swiftly quieted down. "As you all know, Beacon wasn't the only major settlement that was attacked. Last week, Argus was bombed. One of our search and rescue teams recovered this." He pressed a button on his remote, and it moved on to a blurry photo of a circular shaped object, hovering above the city.
"The Atlesian Space Agency has detected over forty thousand of these Unidentified Flying Objects in space. A single photo was recovered from the satellite before it's destruction." he clicked his remote again, and a picture flashed onto the screen. It was of several circular saucers shaped objects, "Any of these look familiar to you?", he said, "We've been trying to keep this hush-hush but so far, some cracks have leaked."
"Our top scientists have speculated that these are of extraterrestrial origin. It was confirmed yesterday when one of these saucers was shot down yesterday by a Mistrailian artillery shell when it was believed to be Atlas invading their territory. Some of the materials used to construct the craft weren't even identifiable on the periodic table. So here is my proposal. In the post of the great war, Vale had created many contingency plans, one was the R.E.D Initiative."

Hello, Commander. In light of recent events, this council of kingdoms has activated the R.E.D Initiative. You have been selected to be our first, and last line of defense. Your efforts will have a considerable effect on this planet's future. We urge you to keep that in mind while you proceed.
