August
Name: August Julian Crowne
Theme: Dark Lords, Dark Thrones
Theme Song:

Sex
: Male
Age: 25
Personality:
Some people want to watch the world burn. Others get caught in the fire. August would say that he's one of the latter.

From a decidedly middle-class family in a decidedly middle-class neighborhood with a decidedly odd and somewhat off-putting moral outlook, others might disagree. August is sociable, of course, and he even seems to be quite charismatic, but he sometimes says things that are off, only slightly.

Like the time that he wondered aloud if he could get away with declaring himself a dictator in a backwater. Or the time that he argued in favor of absolute monarchy, even though he fully acknowledged all of the problems. Or the time that he said that if he had his way, a number of different people wouldn't be welcome on the planet.

But except for that, he's fairly ordinary. He's an avid fan of old fantasy novels, and seems quite content to read Lovecraft through the night. He likes a few newer styles of art, particularly Deco, and continuously is on the lookout for anything of interest, being a collector of small archaeological artifacts, at least when he can get them legally. He's quite eager to interact with people, and is always wanting to figure out what he doesn't understand.

And then he woke up with images in his head from lives that weren't his, and he's started having stranger and stranger ideas. One might even start to think that he's serious about trying to conquer a new nation "for the good of the people."

Appearance:

Past Lives/Souls:
- Commandant Alexei Dinoia (Tales of Vesperia)

Alexei was the Commandant of the Imperial Knights, the army of the Empire of Zaphias in the world of Terca Lumireis. A formidable fighter who earned his entry to the Knights by winning a tournament, he became a symbol of the organization, representing everything its members were to aspire to be. So strong was this admiration that his personal brigade, the Royal Guard, quickly became loyal to him and to him alone. Over time, he grew weary of the world's injustices and the excesses of the powerful, and became increasingly obsessed with changing it by any means necessary. Delving into the study of blastia, he found ways to unnaturally prolong life even after death, and discovered the location of the Shrine of Zaude; an ancient ruin beneath the sea that, according to his research, commanded a weapon capable of fulfilling his plans. Through manipulation of corrupt officials and the brainwashing of the Imperial Princess for access to her innate powers, he unlocked the Shrine, raising it out of the sea, but lost the trust of the Empire and its people in the process. Finally, his nemeses caught up with him in Zaude, and after a hard fought battle and the Shrine's activation, he was exposed to the reality that the Shrine was not a weapon, but a barrier meant to hold back something capable of devouring the world itself. He had little time to regret all that he had done, however, as the great crystal that formed the focal point of the shield, now disabled, fell down and crushed him.

Alexei was a formidable swordsman, and had access to a number of powerful Artes; magical skills enabled by the use of a bodhi blastia, as well as basic melee attacks and the casting of magical spheres as projectiles. The most basic include Apocalypse Toll (A melee strike that leaves an explosive rune on the target), and Guardian Frost (a casing of ice that protects Alexei for three seconds, also creating a healing effect on him while the ice lasts). The most powerful of his Artes, Brilliant Cataclysm, is only usable when he has access to the Overlimit, but is truly devastating, causing magical bursts in an area around his sword, the False Dein Nomos.

Further details: Alexei Dinoia - Artes
- High King Umaril the Unfeathered (The Elder Scrolls)
- Lord Lovis, Dragon Knight of Broken Valley (Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga)
Lord Lovis was a dragon knight, taught in the School of Maxos alongside the initiate Amdusias. After a magical incident that left a village destroyed, the Dragon Mage Maxos ordered that only one of them could rise to become a Dragon Knight. Thus they were forced into a fierce rivalry; one where Lovis emerged victorious. As a Dragon Knight, he built his tower in a parcel of land he claimed for himself known as the Valley of Shrines. A cruel ruler, he failed to defend the Valley against the demon lord Ba'al, who devastated the land to the point where it was renamed Broken Valley. Lovis' rule was cut short in this way by his love of women and wine, and when at last he died, his master Maxos bound his soul into a bottle as a final punishment for failing his duty. His soul was permanently bound to the School of Maxos by an enterprising adventurer, and after many years of imprisonment as a spirit within his crumbling tower, he faded away.

As a Dragon Knight, Lovis was enhanced, and did not consider himself human. He was possessed of increased strength and stamina, and was capable of leaping to great heights. This, combined with skill enough in magic to summon multiple skeletal warriors, and training in melee combat, makes him a powerful opponent. But his greatest strength was the gift of all Dragon Knights: the power to transform into a dragon. In this form, he can breathe fire, cast homing fire spheres, and use a low-level regeneration spell.
