Reincarnation Wars : Boundless War ( Recruiting)

Location
America
Pronouns
He/Him/His
You are chosen by the Entity to fight against his brethren, other Entities. As Entities grow in power and influence, they begin to grow personally more powerful. The Entities are bound in massive crystal prisons in the universe, in order to prevent their escape. Why have they been bound? You don't know, the Entity doesn't tell you. You will be taken from your homes and forced into service to fight for him (Or her). Imagine if you will, a Game Of Thrones, instead of Feudal Lords and Ladies fighting each other through soldiers and intrigue, the ones moving the chess pieces are like gods. What does the Entity want? Why has he chosen you? You don't know.

You used to be a perfectly normal human on perfectly normal modern Earth, where you didn't have to deal with magic being real, space ships and alien species, energy weapons, monsters, or anything but the perfectly mundane. That was yesterday.

You go back father, however, to a time before you were born, and back a bit farther than that you were someone else completely. Someone powerful, in a dangerous world, someplace your current life has described as fiction. And going back further you were someone else somewhere else, and another and another. And in time more of your past will be revealed to you yet.

But even with your old memories, and some strange new power allowing you to call upon your old form, abilities, and even equipment... even with the awesome potential of combining your past triumphs into new heights, there is still something challenging ahead of you.

You must survive your new Lord's will.

Character Sheet template:
Power level
: Starting power level should be about a level 25 D&D character. You can't have someone like Raistlin, Elminster, or end game JRPG bosses like in the last Reincarnation Wars, but you can still start out as pretty damn powerful. In terms of non-D&D level characters, MCU Scarlet Witch, Doctor Strange, Storm and Magneto are all pretty good examples.

Age: 25
Personality: After so many years playing various characters at the table, it just makes sense to keep playing them in real life. May get completely lost into their eccentricities.
Appearance: White & Nerdy. Except when expressing a past life. Then probably scaly or furry or something.
Past Lives/Souls:
Sin the Librarian (D&D character (Dragonborn), native to Faerun)
Level 25 (4e) Swordmage/Battlemind(multiclass)/Iron Guardian/Topaz Guardian

Absurdly tough, especially when using his psionic abilities defensively, Sin specializes in teleportation, shielding others, and hunting down rare books. He has been banned from enforcing late fees and similar penalties due to several incidents of "librarian brutality". That said the Great Library of Silverymoon prefers to keep him on staff as a boogeyman against any who would abuse their services. And send him very far away (ideally another plane entirely. That tends to work well) to hunt rare tomes.

====== End ======
Grendalyne (D&D character (gnoll), native to Eberron)
Barbarian 1/Totemist 3/Scout 4/Ranger 1/Exemplar 5/umbral disciple 10 (+1 level adjustment)

A rising star within the mercenary Blackwheel Company, Grendalyne is surprisingly couth and professional for someone born in a frontier and metaphysically bound to nature. For her own part, Gren knows just how badly nature sucks, and happily wields it as a weapon against undeath and other evils that threaten... People willing to pay. Grendalyne is known for ripping enemies to shreds with soulstuff manifested claws on all four limbs, vanishing from plain sight, and the awe inspiring nature of her jumping skills.
Pyrite (D&D character (Aurak draconian), native to Krynn)
sorcerer 1/ Abjurant Champion 5/Warshaper 5/archmage 2 (+8 Racial HD, +4 level adjustment. Casts as sorc 16)

Pyrite is a native of the draconian city-state of Teyr, hatched after it was founded. As a result he is unfamiliar with the life of war, but much more familiar with espionage and intrigue, which suit both his powerset and disposition. He isn't particularly prone to taking life seriously, but instead has a borderline psychopathic detachment, viewing anyone he isn't personally attached to as the moral equivalent of literal pawns on a chessboard.

NOTES:
High Arcana from Archmage are Mastery of Shaping (can exclude 5' cubes from AOEs) and Mastery of Elements (can swap damage types between fire/cold/acid/elec/sonic)
Abjurant Champion adds +5 to AC from Ectoplasmic Armor (if applicable) and Shield. Also Abjurations are at 2x duration, and Abjurations of 3rd level and lower are Swift actions if they would normally be Std.

Julia
Name: Julia Rivette
Theme: Ruthless Vengeance
Theme Song:

Sex
: Female
Age: 19
Personality: Sometimes you just... walk by people on the street, right? We all do. Now, most of us aren't Professional People Watchers, so we tend to take things as a given. If that cute guy or girl smiles at you- they must like you a bit, right? Maybe into ya a bit, who can say? But the point is, we tend to take people at their word- or appearance, as the case may be. Sometimes we shouldn't.

Julia is a rather friendly ex-teenager (as she was insist; 19 is totally not teenager age!). Chipper, cheery, and perfectly friendly. And that's not some sociopathic facade- she likes being friendly to people- she firmly believes that in many ways there isn't enough of that in the world. But when you get to know her,.. this start seeming a bit different. She's perfectly personable, but she clearly has an incredibly sharp and strong view of justice; no wrong should be done, and she is will to stop that by any means necessary. Even if that requires more extreme means than plenty of people would go to, such as murder. She is even more aggressive when it's wrongs done to oneself- she is a firm believer in vengeance, particularly of an eye-for-eye kind. It's worth noting that she doesn't rejoice in hurting or killing people, it's certainly not something that she'd ideally do at all. But she feels that it's, at heart, a dog-eat-dog world in many respects, and pain should be pain with pain, betrayal with betrayal, vengeance with vengeance. In other situations? Well, if she must hurt someone, she must. She takes little joy in it.

How did she get this way? Who can say really? If you'd ask her she'd mutter some incomprehensible babblings about fires and streets and missing friends. It's probable that she's done her best to block it all out. Overall she hates talking about the past much- her eyes are forever on the present, outside extenuating circumstances.

She's pretty sharp; no Edogawa Conan but she is attentive to her surroundings and certainly isn't dim. She enjoys engaging with people and learning more about him- unlike that hypothetical person mentioned earlier, she digs person-watching, if only to decide if she should go talk to them.

Appearance: Julia has ivory skin and sharp red eyes. Her hair is brown and traditionally tied up in some sort of ponytail or other. She has long muscular legs, akin to a sprinter though her muscles aren't quite that visible. Her arms meanwhile are thin and gangly creating a sharp contrast. There are thin scars on the palms of her small hands and soles of her over-long feet, though she'd never tell anyone where they came from, if she even remembers. Her lips are chapped but there are lines around her mouth, as though she were eternally smiling. Whether a coincidence or genuinely born from the habit, she isn't sure and it may be that no one will ever know.

What exactly does Medusa Gorgon do with her magic?

What exactly does Medusa Gorgon do with her magic?

The primary thing that came to mind when I was thinking about her was the utilization of snake familiars, though her power is far more versatile than I initially recalled, to the degree that I'm worried it at least toes the OP clause in some respects. I'd be happy to nix her and stick with Azula and Envy for the time being, tbh. Eh, yeah, I think a nix would be reasonable so I'll scratch her out and stick with those 2, if that's cool? (If you want to look for yourself I have a link ready but if it looks OP to me when looking at her powers in full...)

Well you could alternately have only one character if you think she's OP? I looked at her powers and it only gave me her power level and not what she could actually do, which is the problem.

I'll... consider it? I like Azula and Envy's more than just having Medusa so I'd lean that direction if at all possible.

Anyway here's a link to her abilities- I mostly only remembered a couple of her most prominent ones in the anime but there were far more; some just in the manga admittedly.

WHy did you think she was too powerful for CR 25? What exactly makes her superior to the likes of Scarlet Witch, etcetera from Marvel, or other D&D characters?
