You knew you had to say something, that you had to at least try to appease this man who could have you so easily killed at the mere inkling that you may prove to be a threat to the village. You knew that you had to say something, do something, but you felt frozen, empty and alone by the heaviness of these words that left you at a loss of anything meaningful to say to change the horrible fact that you were not a person, that you were nothing more than a monster. Your thoughts were growing even more chaotic than usual, and the pain you felt in your chest grew so much that you felt you may pass out as the words kept echoing hollowly in your aching head.
After a while, you slowly felt that the pain turned to cold spikes of despair as the cruel words coursed through your brain, alighting upon any scrap of memory you had that was dear to you, turning each precious moments into shallow things that showed how truly unwanted you were. Why you were not allowed near the playground, why you had to struggle so much sometime to understand the most basic of courtesies... why the looks you received were always so cold and dark no matter what. No, you were not worthy of love. You were a reminder of dark days, a threat, and as a monster you had no worth of your own.
Worth... could you really be worthy of anything at all if you did as the Hokage ordered? Would you be able to find some scrap of recognition if you did as you were told, as you trained to be a tool for the village? Maybe so, but what was certain was that you would do anything for this village to finally like you, to give you even a scrap of acknowledgment and love. Your mind stilled and set upon your new goal surprisingly smoothly despite the hollowness of your soul, and it was with a monotone that may have once been disturbing to you that you finally gave your answer.
"Okay..." There was nothing more to say, you were unworthy of anything more after all.
You observed the powerful shinobi before you then, dull red eyes fixated upon the wrinkled features of the Sandaime as your eyes slowly dried of tears. That man looked very old then, yet the confusing display of his advanced age was soon covered with the stern gaze of a warlord assessing his newest weapon. You were that weapon, and from now on your days would be filled with conditioning and training in order for you to be useful to Konoha. You accepted this easily in your new state, and thus the next order given to you was easily accepted as a part of your new existence.
"Good. Your training will start tomorrow at dawn. Until then, you are to make sure to eat and sleep enough to sustain your body in peak condition. Should your designated teacher find your effort lacking in his reports, there will be dire consequences for you. Dismissed." Turning back to his mountain of paperwork, Hiruzen left you to your own device without another glance.
Standing up from the chair you had occupied in the last hour, you...
[] Quietly left the Hokage Tower, going back to the orphanage to eat a quick meal and sleep.
[] Left to find an abandoned shack for your use, as monsters should live away from human beings. (Hard Mode - Choose with caution)
