Reach for the Sky (Emerging Deity Quest)

[x] Don't

We need to get in contact with the other emerging gods soon, start laying the groundwork of a pantheon.

Quiet

It takes a while to find each potential fanatic but once they're found, each one rewards you with a steady trickle of power. You tell them that above all else they must remain hidden. They must not proselytize or share the good news. You can only hope it works. The thing about fanatics is that their enthusiasm is stronger than their judgment. Still, if one of them talks you'll only lose one follower.

It seems to you that the rich men and women who worship at your statue know you primarily as a devious god of secrets, while the common people touched by you see you as a kind god of memories. It is not a problem for you in the here and now, but you know it to be one of the great challenges for gods whose worshipers are more numerous and more spread out. When two peoples start worshiping one god in two distinct ways it creates an imbalance. And if it goes on long enough, the god may simply split. You think it's how the gods who first conquered your city fell. They claimed more territory than they could control and spawned their own opposition. It's all the more impressive that the great pantheon towering above you appears to have avoided the issue. What do they know that the gods of your time never learned?

For your part, it seems like you've committed yourself to hiding. A secret god of secrets. There is a kind of power in that. Certainly, you can tolerate obscurity better than another type of god. But how strong is your commitment to anonymity?

[ ] Strong.

Now that the priests of the great gods are on the hunt, survival is more important than rapid growth. Your visits are special little secrets and you don't want them talked about.

[ ] Moderate.

Rumors are fine. Even an occasional play or book is fine. As long as there isn't a name or face to attach them to, such things don't put you in that much danger, and they bring in sweet attention.

[ ] Weak

If there's power to be gained, you'll work a great miracle or manifest an avatar in public. You'll try your best to not get caught, but you can't forego opportunities out of fear.

We can't go into this half-assed. Anything less than this and it all falls apart.

[X] Moderate.

A god that remains unknown is a very, very weak god. Weak gods are either hunted down in the end, or are forgotten. Caution is good, but only to temper enthusiasm. An excess of caution is another word for cowardice.

this make me think of a secret orders with the followers are record keepers or a spy den that they pick, test and give an ultimatum to join or be forgotten

[] Moderate
this make me think of an Idea or an Urban Legend where the would be follower wonder if they're real and the followers are artist the ones who could put grafiti that has"Remember?" on it or the author who'll add a side character that helps ones remember or tell ones past they could be faceless good samaritans that empathized with others and tgey recruit would be followers by little clues to riddles to a person easily forgotten sitting with them in the end and giving them a past experienced they remember they could ask if they believed in something forgotten as well

[X] Moderate.

I don't want us to be too good at hiding, rumors and cursory reference are fine.

[X] Moderate.

We hide to much we run the risk of being forgotten again. We hide to little and someone might see what's behind the curtain.

[X] Moderate

If we stay to anonymous we risk being forgotten, and that would be a terrible if ironic way for a memory based God to go.
