Re:Birth, A MMO Story

[X] A. Head back immediately to turn in the quest and start the next stage, like Lightning Hoof suggested.

Grinding is fine but better to do quests. If we want to maximize rewards we should finish the training and then get the whole group together for a deep dive to finish the unique quest.

We don't have the exhausted debuff yet. Guard's Basics might not have to be 1 day 1 quest if we can get through them fast. I'd rather rush the quest.

We've also gone against Lightning Hoof's suggestions a few times. It could be beneficial for loyalty if we do what LH suggests.

Grinding is very old school MMO but hopefully not the best way to progress here.

Checking for 'fast' reward might mean that, if there isn't one, we can report back to any others who haven't finished yet and they can try for other forms of achievements.

It also leaves us free to help out elsewhere/grind as desired afterwards like everyone is voting for. I guess we lose a little bit of time from going back to town and returning but I'm surprised F is the popular option here.

Edit: in fact it was just pointed out to me that this part of the guard's basics quest doesn't necessarily take a full day. Step 6 begins as soon as it is turned in.

We've also fulfilled the criteria of the bounty twice over as we killed 6 undead:

You have gained quest: A Bounty on the Dead (Repeatable)
The undead pour forth in the eastern forest around Asahi graveyard, spreading the energy of death throughout and raising unnatural allies. Lessen their numbers to slow the spread.
Undead killed 0/3
Reward: 30 gold

So I'm absolutely sure that we can make better us of our time than grinding level 1 mobs.

as others suggested, we can grind any time. Better to get the completion reward and get this guard quest done as fast as possible.

If we were able to kill 6 zombies in half an hour at lvl 1 with two people, then I imagine that we can actually grind as a group pretty fast. We would level kinda slowly if we ALL group up, but we would earn tons of gold in just a couple hours.

the reward is thirty gold for 3 zombies so its kinda 10 gold per zombie. two of us was 6 in half an hour. With a full party we can hopefully double that rate for about 60 gold per half hour and 120 gold per hour. If we all group and just farm lvl 1 zombies then we can probably all hit level 2 and earn back a ton of the gold we spent on food.

Its something i'd like to keep in mind, but i think i want to go to the other temples first and learn what the other two directions quests are. It would be good to be informed.

One important part of combat training, as I understand it, is also knowing one's limits and avoiding overreach.
By all means, go for additional objectives when you find them, and keep your eyes open and ears perked up for such opportunities, but on the other hand, you should also restrain from trying to invent new objectives within an already established mission.

We're not skilled enough for searching for secret objectives to be very efficient. I'd rather progress our big quest until an opportunity or need for additional grinding presents itself.

Since defeating 6 zombies, 1 solo, gave us 14 xp, I'm gonna assume each level 1 zombie net us 4xp, 2xp with Dark Blade's help.

We need 86xp to reach the next level, since we took half an hour to kill 6 zombies, soloing them all we would need a little less than 2 hours to level up.

I dunno how much time we have until sun down, but spending more time increasing our level might be worth it just to see if we can skip steps in the Guards Basics? Maybe even go straight to intermediary training?

B. Try to find a slightly higher level zombie (2-3) to solo, and then try to return and see if there's extra rewards like Kitan suggested.

Is combat rolled?
