"Ana suggested I keep a Diary of everything that happens. Just in case I get too old to remember, or something should happen to me. So....where to start? I guess, at the beginning...

Bit more Info
@LinkOnScepter can I have a QM ruling on this?

Also, will you be implementing timeskips so we actually have a chance in hell of getting to see Anastasia all grown up?

Well, unless specifically stated, you are assumed to have food in your house for your child. However, there is a reason the Shopping Option is there. If you want I can put up a value for the amount of food you currently have available in your house.

As of right now, it's about; 2/4 food. So you are good for 2 more days....provided you don't get another mouth to feed while the Quest is going on.

If it's about more than just food (i.e. diapers, clothes, etc.) then yes, you've got that taken care of as long as she's a baby. Of course, as of right now the only type of sleeping place Anastasia has is the basket you found her in. You can go shop for a new one, but it won't be cheap.

And yes, I did plan for time skips. In fact, Anastasia is going to become a toddler faster than you might think. If you want to find out how long that is, I would suggest the Look Up "Starry Eyed Children" Option.

Werewolf Info
...Do they age into geriatricity in Dog Years too?

If by that you mean "will his father become an old man by the time he is 14 in Human Years"? Then no.

One thing about werewolves is that their magic is mostly focused on improving their bodies physically. This includes making their bodies younger than they should be.

They can turn this on and off, and most Alpha's choose to keep it up until they're certain their kids can take over the Pack. Then they start to go senile.

Eldritchs and SCPs
Just got caught up, and quite enjoying this quest (like most that I read, seriously, the people of SV know how to write)! Am I correct in assuming our dear daughter's human appearance of having starry eyes was partially inspired by SCP-134?

No, actually.

In this world, Eldritch Gods and otherwise are completely linked to the stars. Because they were the first things that evolved after the Big Bang, their bodies became made up of the literal cosmos. Thus why Ana has stars in her eyes. However, as time went on, only big guys like Yog and Hastur kept their cosmic forms.

Most subsequent Eldritch went for a more physical form. This has the advantage of allow them to affect the physical world some what, but makes them vulnerable.

Also, fun fact; There's an SCP Foundation in this world.

And believe it or not, it's an actually nice place to be.

Undead
Also! A thing that occurred to me earlier but slipped my mind until it now did not. But given that it seems the Undead are classified as Mythics rather than Mortals(which I would assume most Undead were in a past life, or their...component parts, anyways), what does this mean re:Lichdom or the like? Are there Mortal Magi who search for/have successfully found ways to transcend humanity into some form of Mythic(undead ala Lich or otherwise), and if so, what does this mean for any Pacts they've made? Would such an individual retain the capacity of Belief, or would they have to form a Pact to reacquire it?
And if these are 'Things to be learned later on', thas fine of course. I am just a curious reader that enjoys worldbuilding, heheh.

Undead are a bit..special.

There are different types and they are created based on the circumstances of their death.

Ghost and Spirits are made when someone dies with strong regrets or emotions. This anchors them to the material world, and stops them from passing on until they can let go of the things keeping them anchored. This can be anything from wanting to apologize for a heinous act or wanting their killer brought to justice. This comes with the advantage of being a ghost. You are intangible, don't need to eat, can't get hurt, etc. However, if a Ghost or Spirit remains in the material world without finding closure for a long time they can become a Reaver.

Basically think the Nazguls from LOTR.

As for things like Dullahans and Liches, it's actually kind of cruel the way they are made.

The only way to make them is for someone to be right on Death's Door. They've made peace with their death, and are walking right into the pearly gates right now. Then a Mage or Mythic has to come along and be like, "Oh no. You ain't dying yet!" Then they feed a shit ton of magic into the dying person, and they become an Undead. What type is up to the Mage/Mythic, but the person it is done to ceases to be human and becomes a Mythic with everything that entails. The dying person's consent is not needed.

This normally can't be done by the dying person, since it requires Magic which humans are normally locked out of. Mages/Mythics don't do it, because of what it will do them (make them Undead).

This doesn't mean there haven't been cases of Undead being made without a Mage/Mythic being present, but they are few and far between.

Undead vs Lamias and Vampires
Does that work for vampires too? As for Liches, I thought the common myth about them is about wizards seeking immortality by becoming skeleton monsters, it doesn't make sense for a Lich to be a slave.

See that's where things start getting kind of...strange.

You remember how I said that the Lamia's were the proto-Vampire/Succubi? That's what stops the Vampires and Succubi from falling into the Undead category. They're essentially a sub-species that evolved from the Lamias thanks to specific changes in their environment.

When humans started to take over and replace the vegetation with man made structures, Lamia's started to die in rather large droves. Moving along a paved/dirt road can be hell on your underbelly since the Lamia's didn't have any scales their to protect their soft spots. Thus, running from humans became rather difficult when the very act of running hurt you. Top that off with the fact that during the early stages of evolution Lamia's couldn't hide their animal halves, then add in that humans were starting to create ranged weapons like bows and arrows, and you have a lot of dead Lamia's.

So, as time went on the Lamia's that survived realized that if they were to keep living in a world where humans are dominant, they would have to blend in with the humans or at least not make themselves so obvious with their giant animal halves. So, with a little help from magic, they were able to find a way to hide their bottom halves at will. Most Lamia's decided to just keep their animal halves under wraps until they needed to feed.

Others, however, completely abandoned their snake halves. They didn't hide them, they replaced them.

Basically, Lamia's are blood sucking seducers that have the lower half of an animal.

A Vampire is a blood sucking seducer, with no animal half. They tend to lose the maneuverability and other advantages of having an animal lower half (four legs run faster than two), but gain other advantages.

As for Liches and other Undead, they aren't necessarily slaves.

Really, it all comes down to who it is that brings them back.

A lot of the time it's more like a business partnership.

"What? Thought I was gonna die there."

"You were, then I brought you back to life. Wanna become my minion?"

"No."

"Ok. Have fun being Undead."

As for the Immortality thing, that's something that doesn't exist at all.

With Belief being as powerful as it is, saying something is "immortal" is the same as saying "no one's taking great pains to kill it yet."

Also, wasn't Ana supposed to gain more actions according to her speech,

Not more Actions, just more things she can do.

Magic and Belief: A Comparision
Needs more research first. Perhaps Belief counts as "Magic" for the purposes of the bonus. Either way, we should find out someone more replaceable than our daughter, like that family of werewolves. :V

To give a comparision:

Magic: "I can break reality by throwing fireballs around, and shaping the very floor under my feet into whatever I want! But I slowly take away my own life force whenever I do that."

Belief: "That's cool. I can break reality by punching it with my bare fucking hands while being able to just No Sell whatever you throw at me. Sure I'll have at least 50 broken bones by the time the fight is over, but I'll have won at least!"

Magic and Belief More Info
Oh, for those of you a bit confused on the whole thing; choosing to use Magic will not lock off the use of Belief and vice versa.

It's just that it's really fucking hard to figure out a way to combine the use of both. Primarily, because the human and monster in the contract are drawing on the Lifeforce of each other in order to use Magic and Belief respectively. Having those same contractees draw upon their own Lifeforce in order to use Belief and Magic respectively, while having that exact same Lifeforce being siphoned off by the other.....you can see why not many have mastered it yet.

However, those who do master it....well.

You remember Moses? Guess how he split the Red Sea in this Universe?

Magic and Belief: More Info Part 2
I thought only humans had access to Belief. How come Anna would get it instead if we had chosen Arcane Magic? Also, should we unlock Belief-based abilities, could we learn Magic-related ones later on as well? Even if it's with a penalty.

Humans are the only ones who can use Belief naturally. Just like how monsters are the only ones with access to Magic naturally. Making a Pact is the equivalent of making a Trade deal. Humans get access to Magic, while Monsters get access to Belief.

Unlocking Belief based abilities first would have no penalty on getting Magic related ones later. However, getting Belief first is the safer option since getting a Pact is liable to kill you, if neither you nor the one you made it with is frugal with your casting/using.

Edit: Belief is just as likely to kill you, but it is something you have complete control over using. Unlike a Pact where you are essentially constantly worrying about the person on the other end drawing a bit too much Life from you at the wrong time.

More Info on Belief
How does belief work exactly? Is it belief from others?

It's a bit of both your own Belief as well as Belief from others.

You need Belief in yourself in order to be able to physically manifest it. You need to believe you can do something in order to...well do it. If you have no Belief in yourself, then it is pretty much like throwing water into sulfuric acid.

However, your own Belief can only get you so far. It's only a matter of time before you come across something you on your own can't handle. That's where Belief from others come in.

If others believe in you, they magnify what you can do with your Belief by a certain threshold.

In other words:

You with Belief vs a High Dragon = you can win but you will probably lose multiple appendages once it's all over, with possible death.

You with Belief with others who believe in you vs a High Dragon = you win with a broken arm at the most.

Imagine if you will, an army of hundreds humans. Each one believes that they can triumph over any enemy that steps into their path and come out alive. Now, imagine every other human in the army believes the exact same thing. Then add in the fact that everyone also believes that the person standing next to them will come out of this fight alive.

Now you start to see why the Monsters lost in the early stages of humanity.

Belief Son!
We need Belief and then armwrestle these guys into the ground. Then buy as many research options as we can until our bonuses can negate bad rolls, as it happens with our boogieman game.

Something I didn't want to reveal yet, but feel like is necessary to know, I will say now;

You don't really need to research Belief Powers.

If you just take actions that would cause those powers to activate on their own, then they will. You'll probably put yourself at very high risk, but it will get you a boost in the long run.

Basically, be reckless, hot-blooded, and aggressive. It might put you in the hospital, but it will help you in the long run.

To give a Comparison:

Magic:

Belief:
