    It's November, and you know what that means. That's right: More quests. Most will quickly die, but maybe some will remain. And you know what? You're in the mood to join just one more. It's just a pastime— something to take your mind off the insanity that is your life, the maelstrom of madness, the cornucopia of crazy in the place of psychosis. You trust anyone reading your mind will get the picture.

    Truthfully, SV has been your saviour. If it hadn't been for all the stories you've read there, and the people you met, you… well, you don't know, but it wouldn't be pretty. As dramatic as it might sound to say it, it really did help you keep your sanity.

    (You'd have been fine. You aren't that weak a gal. It's still true that it helped.)

    You are so glad you have your own computer at home. It saves you from needing to deal with your family and friends… well… from dealing with them all of the time. Not that you hate them, of course— they're some of your favorite people— but they can be trying, sometimes. You like having time to yourself, and it's not like the sky will fall in if you take a minute off.

    Not that you'd ever tell the forum software. You're smarter than that. It may or may not think your birthday is April 1st, 1974, which definitely isn't true, because that would make you older than your dad.

    Which you aren't, let's just be clear about that.

    All silliness aside, it's late on a summer evening and you've settled down to read a few stories. Your room is small, but comfortable and well decorated. Next to your computer there are some gifts from your big sister, or possibly a friend, and you can make out cicadas singing outside. Easily make out. They're… terribly noisy.

    Open the address bar. Press 'f'. Press enter. Twice, because that wasn't katakana, you stupid computer. You've thought of setting it to English, but then you wouldn't be able to do your homework. Also, your sister— if you have one— wouldn't be able to borrow it. Or your… ok, but that would be a good thing.

    Wait for it to load. Still. It's almost like you're in the boonies, or something.

    The lights flicker, slightly, giving you a moment's concern. No power cut, though. Not today.

    There are three new updates worth mentioning. Some chatter on the American politics board, which you're— banned from, still, darn it— and an update to one of Snowfire's excellent quests, aaand what do we have here? A new quest, by 'Mikki'. One of your favorite writers, she has an excellent imagination. You just wish any of them would last more than a week.

    This should be good.

    A/N: This story might be absolutely insane, but it isn't crack. And yes, it is November, but… I don't aim to finish it this month, or even to write amazingly quickly. Expect one or two updates per week, probably closer to the former. It's training, to see if I'm capable of consistently updating now. Maybe the answer is yes?

    Votes will be kept running until there's some kind of consensus. Votes that do not follow the correct format will be ignored. I use NetTally with ranked instant runoff; by all means make use of that. There should be no need for tactical voting, just list every option you approve of.

    Most votes include a 'write-in' option. If you see one, then you can assume none of the suggested options will give ideal outcomes. Most should be good enough.

    There may or may not be more going on underne

    It's a perfectly silly story about a teenager playing around on an online forum, and nothing else. I cannot lie: Half of the votes are probably meaningless.

    A valid write-in, though the "(write-in)" part isn't actually needed.

    That being said, I could encourage you to give it a bit more thought. I won't, because trainwrecks can be fun and anything Mikki writes is sure to be a trainwreck anyway, but I could.
     
    My instinct is that including dragons would not change the trainwreckness, in either direction, of romantic comedies emitted by any particular SV user :)

    Non Non is cute, never watched the one Ono is from, Shugo is cute... Eh, Hikage since Ami is a toddler in canon. Although she could grow up being hilariously twisted in some circumstances.

    Although now I'm thinking of adding Tragedy and having it get a dash of Dragon Star Vanir. Which has Witches who have Dragons growing inside of them until they come out Alien style and the only way to stop that is by eating Dragon meat.

    I'm a bit dubious with the handle choice everyone is going with there, you do realize GardenGnostic is probably from Homestuck right? A webcomic series where the world definitely ends. And while @Baughn might not have any intent with it... it's @Baughn

    So to give some extra info on what I'm guessing on things.

    - Aviator21 (What they clearly must they look like though? ;) )
    Don't really know what this one is about, but possibly about flying or war?

    Homestuck, a Webcomic like thing where the world most definitely will end and things get crazy... also pretty much everyone dies, survivor numbers might be but single digit if it keeps to its themes. This seems potentially very dangerous as an option. Admittedly there are quests and adventures and create a new world to replace the old world possibilities, but still end of the world you know...
    - Mile
    This is probably from a newer series where the protagonist goes to another world and asks the 'god' to make their abilities average, they did this because they didn't like standing out so much being smart. The 'god' decided this must obviously mean make their every stat be the exact middle of the weakest and strongest possible level. So possible other world and super powers with a handle like this.

    - Miyauchi Hikage (Basically the older sister in this clip)
    From Non Non Biyori, a slice of life series, very calming with some occasional comedy. Though there was another series where she actually ran in to a demon who wanted to conquer the world or something I think. Though it's really a very nice demon who's anything but capable of conquering the world and who after awhile is kind of scared of humanities willingness and ability to wreck their planet... as well as their over all firepower.
    - Ono Ichiko
    From a series called Munto, this one has an alternate history where there used to be a magi-technological people in the past. Who then utterly wrecked the world, took over and built up a Magi-Tech civilization that then went to wreck all the parallel reality worlds as well with super weapons, all to just harvest more magical power for themselves. Then decadence sets in and decay sets in, alternate power projects using modified humans was deemed ineffective... but ended up making super powered humans eventually, and then a massive revolt destroying the world even more thoroughly. The Magi-Tech civ escapes it all by hiding in their own pocket mirror universe and is still just right there kind of... slowly but surely running out of power, but also becoming some what better people over it all. And then in modern times with Earth rebuilt they've gotten in to a desperate power shortage and civil war to fight over the dwindling resources, with major dangers to Earth depending on how that works out. Expect magitech super weapons possibly being about, especially if the barrier goes down. Though then the armies are out as well.
    - Hinamori Ami (No good image, as she's to young in all I could find)
    Younger sister of the protagonist. The world basically has people with psychic powers around I guess. In Shugo Chara this is all resolved relatively nicely, but the backstory implies it doesn't actually have to... still this involves being able to mind control people, change their points of view potentially, levitation, etc And potential time travel.


    Beyond this not sure what the Cicadas are about, might set their general surrounding and personality type further. and Genre seems some what self explanatory, though obviously some of these will work better with some of these options then others.


    Edit, added some links to the various series so one can get a sense what the various things are more about.

    I think I'd favor something a bit more scifi in all aspects myself, also this seems potentially more interesting to me while not killing everyone. Can do with out a heavily traumatized character I think.

    I oppose Homestuck on the general principle that learning more about it is never worth the amount of effort required, and that we might lose Baughn down a rabbit hole.
    I need him for things, so that's less than optimal.
