[x] Mariko, what you saw back there was... someone being exempted from my curse. Jocelyn wouldn't notice me. He couldn't until I spoke with him.
[x] That's what the curse is. It makes everyone around me think I'm not there or I'm not important enough to warrant attention. Everyone ignored me. It was like I didn't exist.
[x] At first I thought I'd done something very wrong, and that caused everyone to leave but I couldn't think of anything that'd be so bad that it'd drive everyone away; that it was bad enough that no one at school or anyone I tried to speak to would look my way. It took Uncle and Miss Cathy to show me the truth. That what I was going through wasn't natural. That it was magic that made me this way. But I didn't know about that until only recently.
[x] It's been like this for over two and a half years. My uncle, my sister, my friends... It didn't matter. Everyone was effected by the curse. My uncle staying with me like this? That's just a recent thing. I lived here alone for a very long time.
[x] And I would've continued to be alone... had mister Kyubey not approached me.
[x] I made my wish then. To be someone who matters to others. It's how we could meet and speak to each other like this. It's given me the chance to make new friends and reconnect with my old. It's how I've slowly been able to take my life back.
