Bring forth Cutethulu you say? Oddly relevant to my musings on how to get Kyubey to not be an antagonist anymore...

So I notice (at least in the quests I've read, disinclined to watch show) that with every contract Kyubey seems to say "Your soul has successfully reduced entropy" right afterwards. The timing of that phrase seems interesting to me... wouldn't you normally think granting a wish and making those changes (especially immediate-effect ones moreso than able-to-do ones) would require energy from Kyubey the same as keeping the Masquerade does? What about the process of initiating a contract itself reduces entropy, and hows that interrelate to things like taking filled grief seeds or the witchout process?

Relatedly (and to find this stuff out), do magical girls ever actually seem to ask him what thats about? Would it be weird if we did so a week or two after the contract? After all, it seeems like the perfect way to unlock the conversation topic about his general reduce-entropy plans without revealing our meta-knowledge. And while it could be just me, it seeemed like Kyuubey reacted with surprise/interest to our detailed nano-scale manipulations to make that camouflage covering. While he should have noticed our wariness to him (almost as much hostility as Homura) , we've also shown a willingness to cooperate at times AND an interest in detailed SCIENCE! beyond just "how do i explode better" or something. Might it be possible and worthwhile to get Kyuubey to start suggesting new SCIENCE! experiments for us to try, that could help with the entropy problem and possibly outperform Witches?

Random bad idea of the day.

Send Oriko back to school and have her talk to the Potentials there about Contracting And Why It's A Bad Idea.

"I tried to save someone's life and in return an amnesiac schizophrenic chased me down and pulled me into a timeless eternity where I lost a limb, suffered severe head injuries and had my loved one threatened with soul-destroying misery and despair. This could happen to you too. Don't contract."
"If you Contract, you will have to deal with Sabrina."

"Who is Sabrina?"

"Sabrina is an obnoxious Magical Girl with a meddling Nature. She will poke her nose in your businesses if you make a Contract, and depending on some arbitrary opinions she holds, she might or might not bring you unduly harm."

"Harm? What sort of harm?"

"Yes. To date, Sabrina's been known to have attacked, injured, maimed, de-limbed and be-headed magical girls, not to mention sending one into a coma, and breaking into another one's house to bully her into doing what Sabrina wanted."

"She sounds horrible! I should Contract to stop her."

*Shakes head*

"You can't stop her. Nobody has the Potential to stop Sabrina."

"Then what should we do?"

"Don't Contract. Live. Live a nice, long, peaceful life. A life without Sabrina."

"I... I guess. Thank you for warning me. I'll make sure to tell all my friends about Sabrina."

"Thank you."

*Leaves*

*Pops out of cover*

*Looks at Oriko*

*Maximum-Ojou-smiles back*

*Sighs*

"... That... was effective enough, I guess."

"You're welcome, Sabrina."

*Walks off grumbling about needing more Mami hugs to deal with this*

Do you have any musings on how to navigate how Mami will feel about us cooperating with Kyubey?

You don't think Mami would be happy to have her cuddly always-there friend back, if their dispute and the feeling of betrayal could be resolved? Sure Kyubey lied to her and did horrible things for a while, but that was a misguided attempt to try and save everyone the only way it knew how, once we show it a better way theres room to earn forgiveness or at least move on.

I mean, isn't that exactly what we're doing with Oriko? Especially as far as Homura is concerned, since she's effectively got a lot more grievances against them than others do?

I don't think Momdoka would tell us its wrong to Hope that one day we can be Friends with everyone again.

Madoka, not that long before her ascension wish, declared Kyuubey to forever be an enemy of mankind. Her character bio lists the thing she hates most as phone scammers, and Kyuubey is thematically designed to fall very much into the "scammer" category.

So no, Madoka wouldn't push to be friends with QB.

One of the other PMMM quests on here made me think.. is it possible to make a Wish that would affect (a?) Kyuubey directly? What evidence is there on how many Kyuubey entities are out there (is it one continuous mind/memory per region, with disposable bodies? Or a hive mind? Or the same immense intellect for everywhere?)

A wish to forcibly make your local Kyuubey a cooperative friend to magical girls would be interesting... might that let you in to some of their system-rules secrets and help with SCIENCE! and anti-entropy? Would (other?) Incubators come after the compromised one to purge it (not sure how much they ever interfere with wishes. Rebellion was about subverting Madoka's wish right?) . Similar to but a differect direction than Jyuubey, essentially, if only because we'd be more interested in its knowledge rather than its capabilities since we have Sabrina and Clear Seeds.

So we got a new video related to Puella Magi Magia Record, and with it came some rather interesting sights! :3

And last and certainly not least:
Along with plenty of amazing new meguca designs, including one that looks a little familiar...

Describing us like in a witch card? :V
I read it as a DF creature.

Sabrina "Brina" Vee

"I can help all magical girls, everywhere!"

An obnoxious magical girl with a meddling nature. She squirms and fidgets when Mami is nearby. She knows and hugs all she sees. Beware her powerful wish!

Sabrina is enraptured by her close contact with Mami "Mumi" Tomoe. Lately, she's been enraptured by her close contact with Mami "Mumi" Tomoe. She felt pleased to have made a new friend with Kazusa "Kazumi" Subaru. She felt pleasure from sealing a deal recently. She felt pleasure from having a conversation with a child recently. She felt mischievous when waking her fellow magical girls recently. She felt contented by sleeping next to a significant other. She still feels abuzz with excitement when thinking about her recent date with Mami "Mumi" Tomoe.
She is a worshipper of Madokami.
She is a Citizen of Mitakihara. She is a member of the Mitakihara Quintet. She is an ally of the Orbs of Foresight and Love. She is an ally of Kyouko Sakura's Get the Fuck Off My Back About the Goddamn Name League. She is an Ally of the Shizuki Clan.
She is two weeks old and a bouncing baby girl!
Her snow-white hair is straight and cut short to her shoulder; it is also very messy. Her sky blue eyes are large and round. Her nose is slightly crooked. Her teeth are slightly forked. Her mouth naturally smiles when at rest. Her ears are large with hanging lobes. Her body is trim and lithe. Her skin is the color of porcelain.
Sabrina "Brina" Vee likes silver, white diamond and gold. She likes Magical Girls for their great hopes. When possible, she prefers to consume Mami's cooking. She absolutely detests Witches.
She is naturally upbeat and smiles at everything. She has superhuman multitasking skills, and a superhuman ability to meddle. She has a talent for music. She takes naturally to wishing, magic, and making Mami happy, But has a very poor memory. She absolutely cannot focus for any length of time.
Like others in her culture, she holds steadfastness and freedom to be fundamental traits everyone should have, has a great deal of respect for the law, loves cute things, values family greatly, sees artistry as a valuable skill, really respects masters of their field, deeply respects those that work hard towards their goals, prizes loyalty, respects fair dealing and fair play, greatly enjoys leisure, values martial prowess, respects the environment, and detests whales. She personally values friendship above all else, trusts in the eventual omnipotence of Hope, and believes in the bonds of those around her to a fault. She used to find Secrecy valuable in friends, but has lately taken steps to change that. She dreams of building an empire someday.
She's a loony. She's perpetually optimistic, even in the face of adversity. She respects cynicism, but strongly disagrees. She finds socializing to be a pastime not worth the effort. She easily falls in love. She is a staunchly loyal lover. She's incredibly friendly, and can sometimes turn people off her by being too familiar. She thinks very highly of herself. She often feels as though she knows better than others how they can best achieve their goals. She loves working with others. She enjoys watching others achieve their dreams. She's a intensely physical person, and naturally hugs everyone she meets. She enjoys combat, but detests the reasons people fight. She likes to stretch her capabilities to the limit. She has a passionate relationship with science, which can be dangerous. She enjoys traveling at Sufficient Velocity. She's a web rat, and enjoys surfing the internet. She's an enormous fan of Mami "Mumi" Tomoe, a local folk hero.

Only this time, instead of scamming people over the phone, Kyuubey is a phone that scams people.

Kirika's claws are waaaaay too huge to be aesthetically pleasing.

Other than that, this looks great. Wonder who that girl is. Probably not Sabrina, but one can Hope and have Hope be crushed. Such is the way of PMMM, sadly.

Dwarf Fortress. It's a pretty friggin' amazing fantasy world simulator/RTS city-builder/Roguelike RPG.

Yes, you can do all three.

It's... very, very indepth. It's also difficult to get into, because it's in ASCII, but if you stick with it a little bit the results are incredibly rewarding - It's been my favorite game ever since I discovered it ca. 2009.

Dwarves each have their own personalities, body types, and opinions on everything. They're also quite dumb, which can lead to a lot of fun situations where they manage to fuck themselves over in new ways. But of note is the level of detail the game allows you to go into - it simulates down to the eyelid in combat, for example.

It's also still under development, and so new features roll out every few years.

I cannot possibly recommend the game enough. Like literally, if I reached through your screen and hit you in the face screaming "IT'S FREE EVEN!" repeatedly, it wouldn't do it justice. The dev Toady is a god among programmers.

Kyubey only canonically said that in regards to Sabrina's "reverse time" wish. Additionally, he collects energy from contracts.

There's probably no Potential aside from someone like Madoka with the power to influence the Incubators; they effectively rule the universe, and a single Incubator is implied to manage an entire planet by itself, since Kyubey was interested in "the rare experience" of speaking to another Incubator in the form of Jubey.

@Re White Haired Angel Girl, the thing is she can't be Sabrina because she has an angelic motif as opposed to a witchy one.

She...fits me a lot though, as my hair naturally went white a couple decades ago due to a health condition, I get mistaken for a girl constantly, and I've played a few angels in stage plays. >_>
