Eh, I don't think Alec would be that Cruel. Legend is one of the few GOOD men in this sad sack world, and legit cares for those under himself and about others. He's on team retarded evil because he's powerful, kept in the dark [ironic] and because the limited evils he knows about are sufficiently justified that he accepts it, while doing what he can. Remember that there really wasn't a good alternative group to join. plausibly because Contessa exists and murdered any alternatives with unquestioning prejudice.

Would he reveal info that makes Legend question...basically everything and his own existence besides? Probably. but he wouldn't be mean about it unless they deserved it.
 
That was certinaly a chapter.

Alec bought stuff from a vending machine, everybody stood and did absolutely nothing, then Colin sent a message to Legend telling him he was a myth at this point, which made him big mad.

Tune in next time to see Billy drink his Juice for half the chapter while in the other Legend goes FURIOUS DAD MODE.

I mean, Alec did pretty much made Vicky's life crap cause he was annoyed at her.

I can see him absolutely twisting the knife if he felt petty enough

Y'know, they can't be that wary of/upset at him if they just blithely accept his getting them all drinks with no suspicion or frustrated attitude.

I know I don't accept gifts from people I don't trust or like.

I'd love to hear their internal rationalization on why they accepted beverages from Apollyon.

Armsmaster said Apollyon's tiredness and lack of smug satisfaction "painted a grim picture."

Example:
Armsmaster: "He doesn't think we're worth the effort of killing."
Glory Girl: :rage: "How dare he! I'm totally kill-worthy!"
Panacea: "Vicky!"
Glory Girl: (realizes what she blurted out)
Glory Girl: (embarassed) :oops:
 
I'm curious how Legend will handle this. I'm sure Contessa could find everyone responsible (for the kidnapping itself), but I don't know if she'll be willing. Also not sure if she'll just pretend she got everyone if she does agree to help.

Well damn, Legend is FURIOUS!
I bet he's wondering how much Alexandria and Contessa knew too.

Alec is about to drop some bombs on them most likely, and the butterflies of this incident will cause a storm that shakes the PRT and Protectorate! At minimum, the Kansas Branch is getting a full cleanse, and all Protectorate Members and PRT Members will need to be thoroughly checked for Bribery, coercion, and master effects. Not just Kansas, Country-wide. Just to prevent this from happening again, and to see if any other branches have done something similar.

Will Rebecca have to step down as Chief if this gets big enough?

I wonder if Legend will actually deign to talk to Al, instead of just trying to arrest him. He's got lots of intel from MP showing that Al is actually a very reasonable, well-reasoned fellow who sees a completely incompetent and overwhelmed government allowing world-shattering problems to fester, and the only way they can be fixed is to actually fix them.

And it's working very, very well.

And when Legend asks about it, Al can tell him that a lot of the issues are because of the way Cauldron (mainly Contessa and Doctor Mother) set everything up for maximum suffering due to DM's clinical sociopathy and their reliance on a tainted weapon of the enemy. The complete lack of empathy, ability to self-reflect, ability to take responsibility when things go wrong, and ability to communicate and properly cooperate, and their reliance on a tainted weapon of the enemy all doomed them from the get-go.

Not gonna lie, if Alec revels anything I want it to be the fact that the only reason he is in Worm is cause his "Boss" though it was funny wanted to test a new system.
 
Am I the only one who doesn't want to see Al bully Legend, when the man's been doing his best to keep the situation with Apollyon from escalating and just got some really bad news already? Yeesh.

Well... Legends on the warpath (again)...

Wonder how many "secrets" he can drop before people read the bit he said to Alexandria (He called her Becky if I remember... he basically outed her as Rebecca Costa Brown) and realise she is part of Cauldron and want her head...

Also I don't think we have seen any taylor yet funnily enough (I know she has probably been aborted due to all the stuff alls mothra'd out the window... but honestly I kinda want to see things through her eyes as someone on the "ground" and her reaction to all this leaking*)

*If at least half of what Als done hasn't ended up on the news I will be very surpised...

nope not the only one.

what i'm looking forward to is seeing colin possibly participate in deescalation, now that he's realized that apollyon isn't actually acting like an asshole. just a very tired person dealing with terrible, terrible things.

I don't want him to be bullied, but the man has to know all the shit his compatriots have been doing behind his back. And if he's been purposefully turning a blind eye, that's definitely something that Al needs to know.

Oh good, Colin managed to unstuff his head from his ass momentarily.

I do prefer when Armsmaster deflates his ego a little. Much less insufferable that way. He can be oddly irrational for a guy that seems big on rationality.

2. they are warned not to be hostile and denying a drink might be taken that way or at least not being cordial.
3. the last time gg started crap she got her home life wrecked and he already has one in the verbal chamber for panacea so she might be shut up for once.
4. He demolished lung, heartbreaker, mama mathers and members of the fallen.
5. from what they know he's done so far plain and simple If he wanted anyone dead there he would have done so.

#1 really isn't as much of a fix as one might think. After all, Panacea can only fix biological issues, cannot fix issues that are too exotic, cannot fix brains, and cannot fix death. Something fed to you by a trump might very well strike out on all of those.

There's also the factor of handing them over sealed fresh from the vanding machine, and sure powers exist that could still tamper with them (and Al has access to some, even) but that again comes back around to "orders from the top are to de-escalate and avoid engagement" and that scorning a friendly gesture out of paranoia is roughly speaking the opposite of that. Even more so if at least Armsy is aware that Apollyon has been allowing Mouse Protector to travel and when her morals permit cooperate with him even with the explicit acknowledgement that she's reporting back to Legend about it.

Though I doubt the full details of that little arrangement are being disseminated as widely as the reports themselves or even summaries of them, Colin is in one of the areas Apollyon's known to have been active in and returned to, making him as team leader and likely all the Protectorate members there higher on the need-to-know list for How To Manage Apollyon. Further, Miss Militia is one of Mouse's freinds, making for a second, back channel line to the ENE department to have gotten the deets on Al being pretty calm and reasonable as long as he hasn't decided you're part of the problem, and that his criteria line for the latter generally lies at actively and willingly causing or aiding major harm to innocents.
